MAP Tec Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 I have finished my MOC and would like to present it on this platform with some photos. However, all my pictures have a size of 5 MB or more. Eurobricks only allows 0,1 MB and I can only reduce my photos to 25 KB or more, for example with https://mbtokb.net/ and the quality suffers a bit. How do all MOC designers solve this problem? Quote
Murdoch17 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Eurobricks isn't meant to host photos @MAP Tec. All the space you are given is for your Avatar and your signature. You are meant to upload regular post photos somewhere else, like Flickr, or Bricksafe, or another photo hosting site., Then you link them into your post... there are tutorials on Eurobricks on how to do this, but I don't know where, exactly. (Moderators usually have a link to the new member help section in their signature, which should give you some guidance if you need it.) Quote
MAP Tec Posted October 1, 2024 Author Posted October 1, 2024 Thank you very much for the answer. I now know that Eurobricks should not be used for uploading photos ;). I still have all my photos on Flickr, but until today I didn't know how to get them onto Eurobricks... I think I have found the tutorial now and it will work. Thanks for your help :) :) :) Quote

Add the link to your Eurobricks post and then the picture should be shown automatically. Quote

I will finally test it tomorrow and I am confident that i will be able to present my MOC tomorrow (it has worked on a trial basis). Until then, thanks for your help! :) Quote
aFrInaTi0n Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Open the photo page on Flickr. Click the Download arrow (bottom-right of the image). Select “View all sizes.” Choose the resolution you want (e.g., Original, Large, Medium). Right-click the image. Select: “Copy Image Address” (Chrome/Edge) “Copy Image Location” (Firefox) “Copy Image URL” (Safari) You’ll get a direct link like: Quote https://live.staticflickr.com/XXXX/XXXXXXXXXX_abcdef1234_o.jpg That is the exact image file URL which can just copied into any post for being rendered in it. I can recommend the thread for testing. To add: If I remember correctly, flickr may just allow unregistered accounts to see resolutions up to the 1024px version -> this may be the best resolution to use for sharing, as we also have the rule with the 1024px limit here in the forums (and some css from myself is shrinking any larger images back to 1024px anyways 🫡) Edit 2: Oh it has been a topic bump - nevertheless the flickr guide may be helpful for others :D Quote
JesseNight Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) @aFrInaTi0n I think the link you've used is a private one that only works for you as the owner. We are seeing this: (kinda funny in a way... ) I've been sticking to imgbb myself. Very easy and no account required. Edited March 5 by JesseNight Quote
aFrInaTi0n Posted March 5 Posted March 5 The url example was just an obfuscated, considered not working example. (I have to admit I was also lazy and let ChatGPT write it up...) Quote
