Well, I think they spared most of better minifigures because next year we might get a Fortnite CMF series and there's a possibility they'd want to include a higher number of minifigures this time (maybe even 20 or more).

I love the battle bus and the llama! I think peeley looks very good too but why would I want to buy that one?

anyway, for the life of me, i cant figure what the red rock (?) in the llama set is supposed to represent. If I didnt know any better I'd say its redstone.

With Lego Fortnite now an official theme, could/should discussion of that be moved to its own topic? It's been kind of the bulk of discussion in this topic for a while but at this point it's no longer a rumor.

Agreed.

I was going to jokingly say it's a red kyber crystal but that's technically possible in-universe.

That said, what is the deal with only 1 of these 4 models being a minifigure-scaled set? This has become my new biggest pet peeve with Lego in 2024, it’s scary how much they’re shying away from traditional sets nowadays across their licensed themes.

At this point i've moved from "lego is trying to get into the adult market and doesn't think they buy minifigure sets" to "Lego knows adults buy minifigure sets and is using this as an excuse to scrape some money by not producing as many minifigs"

Anyway, yeah, lego fortnite. Can't wait to get a set where invincible and omni-man fight peter griffin.

Yep. Please tag me so I am sure to see it. I will work on separating the existing Fortnite discussion out as soon as I can.

Actually it's a rough ruby ore from the Lego Fortnite game mode. All the items in the set are from there so that's a nice touch.

Sets are now up on lego.com! https://www.lego.com/en-us/themes/fortnite

Looks like I was wrong about the Battle Bus price increase - it is still $100 - glad to see!

That's amazing, 120 just felt a bit too much for the overall volume of stuff. Can't wait to pick this up!

Battle Bus is amazing, but the lineup is weird. A lot of them make sense - Drift, Cuddle Team Leader, Meowscles, the special LEGO Peely variant - but Cube Assassin and Trespasser Elite? Those are so random. And I guess ‘Battalion Brawler’ is our Jonesy variant? Google says that’s the official name of the default skin Jonesy from Chapter 3 . . why not just call him Jonesy? Since that’s apparently who he is?

The other three sets . . I don’t get it. Seriously. Who asked for - okay, okay, the Loot Llama makes sense. Wish Brite Bomber came in that instead and freed up a slot for Skye in the bus, since she has the llamacorn motif. But who asked for a buildable Durr Burger? Or Peely Bone? Those are going to end up on clearance. I could maybe see someone buying the Durr Burger to use as a starting point for a restaurant MOC. But Peely Bone in particular is just a really weird use of a set slot.

Disappointed but unsurprised by the price increase rumour. All the same, I honestly think I’ll only get the Battle Bus. Maaaaybe also the Llama if I find a good spot/idea for it. I hope there are more sets and more minifigures (Skye and Midas!) next year because . . this can’t be it, right?

Maybe they're saving the classic Jonesy look for 2025

That doesn´t make sense though. Then they would have put one Minifigure each in the buildable Sets, so people who want the minifig are more likely to buy it and at the same time could have put less minifigs in the bus (like 6 for instance and they would still have the same total amount of minifigs for the wave).

Anyways, if we look how many sets without minifigs they are doing lately (and buildable objects that still include one minifig) I would say the reason is simply because people buy them.

I wonder if LEGO is testing to see what products types sell under the new license. We are getting a well-priced playset of the most iconic Fortnite vehicle/location with a bunch of Minifigs, a large buildable object, a medium-sized buildable object, and a small buildable object; the sets that sell the best would be the template for future (2HY 2025 and onward) waves.

Well but with one set for each of your categories, I don´t see how any of that would really tell them anything, you would never know if people bought it because it was cheaper than the others or because they just liked the build more/ the model is more iconic.

It could help them narrow their scope a bit, rather than just dropping a massive wave that might end up having to be discounted.

So I have only played Fortnite once or twice but I think the sets look amazing. I absolutely adore the attention to detail on the figures in the bus as well as the spacious interior for the set. Sure its missing dual molded arms and legs as needed, but the arm and leg printing feels adequate enough, especially being a Superheroes fan where we almost never get that.

I agree the llama looks great and will make a fine display piece, just not currently interested in owning this. I mean its fine but not for me.

Peely bone on the other hand is very much something I want. It's just so well done and so detailed and at such an appropriate scale, love it instant buy if the money is right once this releases. I fear we are sleeping on this build.
