Ptchnk Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 (edited) I'm currently working on a series of small MOCs to later be used in a Research Lab larger MOC with several rooms. So far, i've done an X-Ray diffractometer, a couple high temperature furnaces, a white board with a periodic table and a couple attemps at some lab benches Edited February 1, 2024 by Ptchnk Quote
Toastie Posted February 1, 2024 Posted February 1, 2024 THIS IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN ... Oh my - it does not get any better. This is my everyday life at work - and you nailed it. Each display is 100% spot on - I do not like OChem at all (I am a PChemist so that explains it ;) but wow do I like the rotary evaporator, and the furnace, and the diffractometer, and the workbench - everything!!! But what really tops it all is that periodic table ... this is completely blowing me off. Wow. Thank you so much for sharing! All the best, Thorsten Quote
Murdoch17 Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 These are extremely awesome MOC's! Side note: I have a mad scientist mini-fig who might have (slightly unscrupulous, possibly illegal, and certainly dangerous) uses for these designs. I've been meaning to rework his lab, and you got my creative juices flowing again. Thank you @Ptchnk! Quote
Feuer Zug Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 Oooh, chemistry. These are great. I've never had the opportunity to play in such a well equipped lab, but have seen them and they are spot on. Quote
jus1973 Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 Thèse are fabulous. Congratulations on capturing something so challenging, so well. Massive Kudos for the periodic table. That is staggeringly good. Quote
Ptchnk Posted February 3, 2024 Author Posted February 3, 2024 Thx a lot for your feedbacks. My idea for the larger MOC is to have several dedicated rooms: Chemistry Lab, Furnace Lab, Facilities (X-Ray + ...) , a classroom/meeting room... and of course a coffee break corner. I've combined both workbenches to start have an idea of the room setup. Stil need to add the fumehood somewhere. Quote
XG BC Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 chemistry beyond what i need for my EE courses has always been black magic. but to give you my very unqualified opinion here: you have captured the lab setting very well. Quote
Toastie Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 10 hours ago, XG BC said: black magic Chemistry largely IS black magic. PChemists use thermodynamics, kinetics, quantum mechanics, modelling etc. to touch it up as natural science That is why I like it PChem so much (and hopefully none of my colleagues are on EB ) Best, Thorsten Quote
Ptchnk Posted March 24 Author Posted March 24 Here is a chemistry fumehood to complete the Material research lab. The front window can slide up & down for the safety of the minifigs. Quote
Feuer Zug Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Solid fume hood design. It would fit well with the rest of the laboratory. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Wow, I had missed this masterpiece of laboratory scenes ... and as soon as I saw them I thought "this is stuff for @Toastie" ... but as soon as I scrolled down I saw that the first comment was exactly from him! Top notch work! Quote
