Bugatti Chiron 42083 stuck at step 298

Hello i have a problem i cant seem to fit in the piece correctly and i dont know what i did in previous steps that went wrong. Losing my mind over it since if i cant figure out the root of the issue i will have to break down everything again.

It looks like the small black gear is blocked by the black bar and it can't be pushed entirely

Might be faster to just take it apart and restart IMO.

Also are these original LEGO pieces? The black doesn't look really black on these photos.

The black bar is the steering rack and you have it upside down. The black gear should engage the teeth on the steering rack when you put it in. Look at the instructions step 280-285 and you’ll see the mistake. Lucky for you, you don’t have to pull apart too much of the model to fix it.
