[TC26] Arctic support train

I always want and like to make which nobody will not to do.

This contest is no exception, so I want something which is not snowmobile or some tracked vehicle.

Therefore, when selecting candidates, I think screw tanks, icebreakers, and trains.

Screw tank is not usual vehicle but I think someone will do it. So passed.

Icebreaker is unusual in lego build but it is hard to make float on water. So passed.

Remaining candidates is train. And it is unusual enough in technic theme.

Main drive is finish. I need to make other function. All vehicle is 9 wide(currently 7 but need to add exterior) and work on normal lego track.

Planned

Combination of 4 vehicles: locomotive, power plant, crane, and passenger car

Locomotive - Drive, Snowblower connected with drive, Snowblower lifting or something else, Maybe light

Power plant car - Include battery. I think between C+ hub and spike/RI hub.

Crane car - Manual outrigger, Crane lifting, turning, hook

Passenger car - Manual door on both end, Something else or interior

Interesting idea, I’ve never seen a technic train before. I look forward to seeing how this progresses.

i thought about a screw drive vehicle but have gone down another route with my entry. I’m not going to post until I’ve got a working concept though!

I love this approach of making something unique! I would say that you should add some side "mechanisms" like how old locomotives have, so it has more of a mechanical feel. Other than that I would use the other 3 motors to motorize a the crane (hook, lift, turntable).

When I build that locomotive, I think I can add distribution transmission using that motor and rotary catch. But cancled cause I can't think which function can add on locomotive.

Working part of crane car is finish.

It use 2 small angular motor for function.

One for change gearbox, one for function.

Function

Crane turn / Boom lifting / Winch or claw

At first I decide to make normal winch crane but seems like that is to simple, I add changeable tool on boom end.

Tool changing is simple. just pull winch all the way back and replace pulley to grabber. And change catch on top of crane.

Cause underside is to tight, I use Yamaha's new 2L ring. Only one of ring is new because I use another for 2 function through turntable. 20t clutch gear can't mesh with old 2L ring.
