My dream theme is One Piece and not just because I love the franchise but I think it has so many options and ideas as a Lego theme.

1. Minifigs (Straw hats, all have different outfits every arc, literally 1000’s of notable side characters)

2. Ship sets (So many ship sets to design, Pirate, Marine, Going Merry, Thousand Sunny)

3. Location themes (Water Seven, Amazon Lily, Onigashima, Wano, Whole Cake Island, Alabasta etc) almost endless options.

Honestly there are so many options for sets I can’t really name them all. It would be so rich for build ideas.

Thoughts?

If Lego thinks it would sell, they'd sell it, as that's what they're in business for. The last anime they took inspiration from got two (count 'em!) sets: 'Avatar - the Last Airbender' in 2006 (unless you count the four 'Speed Racer' film sets from '08) and they sold nowhere near as well as they'd hoped. I saw both ATLA  and Speed Racer on store shelves for quite a while, with them not selling many, if any at all. Also, every single anime franchise that made 10,000 votes on ideas has been rejected at review by LEGO... and there has been a few.

Maybe someday this will change, but I do think Lego has adapted a 'once bitten, twice shy approach', so yeah... not happening.

While I get where you're coming from I think Lego would have to be absolute fools to not recognize how immensely the market has changed in the last 15 years for both Lego and anime. Generally speaking, both are way more popular with adults than they were even 5 years ago. Anime merch is pretty popular and a Lego theme based on a popular series would not have a hard time selling (assuming the sets are good, of course). If anything, I'd guess the biggest reason why we probably won't see Lego themes based on popular anime is that the licensing might be somewhat complicated, especially for something that would likely sell well, but not as well as other pre-existing themes.

ATLA isn't an anime. But I'd love Lego Avatar ( not just Aang but Korra too) maybe they could use the new show that's coming as a way to jump start a new Avatar theme, obviously they'd probably have to wait till they were done with the pandora Avatar but I can't imagine that being an evergreen theme, they'll probably cut it off until the next movie.

Though for actual anime, the one I'd actually care to see would be a studio Ghibli line, say with a catbus set and a uxs walking castle etc.
