You're not "out already". There is the Squeaky Voiced Teen in the new set.

If he is the only one, I'd skip it. Sideshow Bob and/or Mel, then I'd buy just the minifigs on BL. I think the only way I'd buy into The Simpsons sets again is if they did Moe, Barney, Skinner etc in an early new set. If they aren't going to do characters I like and I have all the originals, I'll stick with what I have.

How do you know that? No pictures, no real leaks yet. I haven't heard a single reliable leaker say anything beyond a possible Simpsons set is coming.

So I ask again, what leaker has said that we are getting a CMF, or even possibly getting one?

The last CMF Simpsons series sold poorly. Nobody but you has said we are getting a CMF... unless I am wrong, and you can point me to somebody else to collaborate this info.

A lot of things appeared to sell poorly 10 years ago. Aside from Orthanc, I was able to purchase every LOTR and Hobbit set at at least 30% off, commonly 50% off and for some sets just over 60% off. Most of my series 1 to 10 CMF were bought for about £1.20 when released due to common discounts although I used to buy up boxes at clearance for 50p a figure at the end of their run.  I think part of the reason for weaker sales of Simpsons S2 was the choice of characters and people realising they were not going to do important characters. And partly due to lower numbers of collectors at the time. Harry Potter sets were also really heavily discounted in 2011/12 but LEGO brought that theme back to obvious success. Café Corner and Emerald Night were also discounted suggesting they weren't selling well at the end of their shelf time.

A lot has changed in 10 years. Minifig collecting is more popular. LEGO is more popular. Adults are more likely to sets and minifigs for themselves. I rarely see heavily discounted LEGO or CMF these days when 10 years ago it was common. I don't think poor sales then correlate with what would happen now.

Ok, I can see Lego do this... it would save them moulding money and force fans, who want them to look the same way, buy 3...

I mean we already had it rumoured that sept would be Marvel or Fortnite ( I did one I'm glad that is was Marvel and also that is was Spider-verse in particular). But there's always next year and the year after that and the year after that ... Et infinitum.

Though TBH Simpsons wouldn't high on my list of potential non-generic CMFs. I'd probably put  Doctor Who or some sort of  greek mythology series at the top.

Though if there was another Simpsons one Seymour is a must.

The current GWP image is just a MOC to give an idea what the stand will look like. I imagine most of those prints won't be used. It would also be extremely odd to tack on a licensing cost to a non in-house theme set for a single tile - especially a free GWP.

It's a MOC of a news stand that's similar to, but not the same as the upcoming GWP for modulars. They've used a Simpsons magazine in it, but it's only a fan MOC and nothing official.

Oh, I see. I got confused by the modular name as those ones aren't GWP for buying Modulars, just the first GWP of the year with any spend over the threshold.

The original heads will return 

Squeaky teen and another big character will premiere in this set! So now this actor will have 3 figures based on his characters!  (3 not 2 was the edit)
