This is probably the stupidest decision by Lego to not have any sets in 1HY 2027, it's not like they have Sonic Movie 4 releasing in March 2027 or anything to help sales -_-

I think if the theme is over then I guess I'm ok with the figure selection we have, but definitely some missing I wish we'd have had.

The main flaw with the theme was probably them branching into mechs and car sets that only regurgitate characters. The theme worked best when it took the game elements and adapted them with Biolizard being the best set of the theme. Was expecting them to reuse Silver so I didn't have to get the cars, guess I'll have to try and pick that up soon.

I've still not managed to find 30733: Badnik: Skorp, but there's still time. Otherwise, the only thing I'm tempted by is something with metal Sonic, but both sets are poor to my taste. I agree that too many cars and mechs made the theme less appealing. The sets from 2023 are still the best for emulating the games, and I liked that they tried to incorporate a relevant and entertaining play feature in them. A good run overall.

I definitely would‘ve liked the theme to continue, but I‘m happy with what we got. Four years is a really good run for a theme that got so few sets each year

I just had a thought, since the theme only gets 5 sets a year anyway, could they be lumping them all into one big summer wave per year from now on?

Not impossible, but since everything is retiring next summer, it‘s more likely that the theme is over

If the Sonic theme is ending then I'm pretty satisfied, though I would have liked to see Big and some Chao. It had a good run and didn't become as repetitive as other licensed themes (except with the characters I guess, but I also appreciated that I didn't need to buy whole waves or huge sets to get the whole cast). It can always come back later, especially if sales have been decent.

Maybe part of the reason for the cancellation is to make room for the Super Mario minifigure sets? They'll probably be somewhere between Sonic and Animal Crossing, and Mario's a more popular IP so it would likely overshadow Sonic.
