NeutralNoodle Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Apparently the $500 set is going to heavily feature a Black Panther vehicle Quote
hvader Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 (edited) Most likely the Royal Talon Fighter. Tbh I would like a big Battle of Wakanda IW set. No way it’s just a $500 vehicle... Must be a big battle playset Edited August 26, 2022 by hvader Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 (edited) As much as I like BP, this is just a straight-up terrible idea. No BP vehicle is iconic enough to deserve a $500 set What were they smoking And how is this supposed to be a celebration of Marvel as a whole? Edited August 26, 2022 by BrickBob Studpants Quote

Gutted really, but I’m not going anywhere near a $500 BP set Quote

What if the ship comes with a portal ring around it, depicting the Endgame scene? Quote
hvader Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Scale-wise it doesn't really make sense for this set to be the BP vehicles as none of them are that big. The vehicle must be a part of a larger set or scene Quote

Maybe it's part of the "Avengers Assemble" diorama scene from Endgame? Quote
Legocentrico Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 when I read it I started laughing. but it turns out that the gray hairpiece on instagram really belongs to t’chaka 😑 Quote
Thwip Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 If the $500 dollar set is a vehicle I really don’t think any Black Panther vehicles are popular enough to sell at that price point. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 (edited) A $200 BP set I could get behind, but this is just ridiculous. Large-scale vehicles aren‘t exactly the first thing I think of when I hear „BP“ Even a giant panther statue would make more sense than this! Edited August 26, 2022 by BrickBob Studpants Quote
LegendaryArticuno Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 UCS Wakanda Waterfall... the waterfall is a metaphorical vehicle for T'Challa turning into Black Panther Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Bruh, please tell me it's a joke... Quote
hachiroku Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Why are you surprised? Literally all the leaks/rumours stated that it was a weird decision, that it was an oversized vehicle and that it was something that the fans don't want. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Could it perhaps be a collection of vehicles? That way, the scale would at least make a bit more sense. Still a silly choice, why not pick just one and make it a $200 set instead That is going to be a tough sell for that pricetag! Quote
Mattallica Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 if it really is a big BP vehicle then why did all the leakers say it wasnt minifig scale? Quote
TurnOffTheDark Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 so lego is hyper fixated on Black Panther this year for some reason....we are getting 4 regular sets based on Black Panther (5 if you count the small mech that came out earlier this year) and a whole d2c. Very weird indeed Quote

For some reason, a lot of merch companies seem to think Black Panther's popularity extends to everything wakandan (or even that BP the character is spider-man level popular now). Like, I like T'challa, he's cool, but I could care less about wakandan vehicles. 30 minutes ago, Mattallica said: if it really is a big BP vehicle then why did all the leakers say it wasnt minifig scale? BusterNut31 Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 I think it will be the royal talon ship with two or three exclusive figs. like the batwing or batman 89 bat mobile. could also include something with it. Quote
Mattallica Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 the royal talon fighter is pretty big, so it would have to be enormous to not scale to minifigs https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Royal_Talon_Fighter?file=BP_%28Shuri_%26amp%3B_A_Bugatti_Spaceship%29.png Quote

The thing is that with marvel the vehicles aren't ever really the focus. I mean excluding batman it applies to most superheroes really, especially if you consider the Hulkbuster to just be a big ironman suit and not its own vehicle, I mean the 2 guardians spaceships too. Shield has its vehicles but only quinjet and the helicarrier are anything important and even then I wouldn't call the quinjet an iconic look. Was the talon fighter ever driven by T'challa? Was it ever the focus of a major action scene? Ever named on screen? Ever mentioned properly? Edit: it was more prominent than I remembered but still a Ninjago city styled Wakanda with the lab, minihangwr, waterfall arena, mines underneath, throne room ect would be a way better Black panther d2c Edited August 26, 2022 by Agent Kallus Quote

If they wanted to do a Wakandan set, they should have made the mountain instead of a vehicle that people hardly remember. Edited August 26, 2022 by hachiroku Quote
