Dami Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 I think 42139 will be also good. I predicted that we gonna get quadbike this year. 42133 seems also like pretty cool small set. Sadly we dont know anything about 42136, is it cancelled or something. I hope not. Quote
howitzer Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Hopefully you're right and some proper Technic sets will be released too. I guess the small chopper is fine for a small set, but I'm more interested in the mid-to-large range. Quote
Maaboo the Witch Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 I'm most hyped for 42133. Hopefully we'll get a peek at it in one of the manuals from the January sets. Quote

Expand And also a sneak-peak of the 1:8 scale supercar if everything goes according to plan with the Toy Fair on January 25 & 26@howitzerI think a good chunk of excitement is still left for the 22H1 wave. Howevr, I gotta agree they way Lego is turning things like two of the 50$ sets being unnecessarily pull-backs, who knows what unlikeable stuffs are going to happen to the sets we are hoping for. Usually, in the beginning of the year, the small to semi-small sets are polished and make "less noise" Edited December 7, 2021 by thekoRngear Quote
Dami Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 (edited) Plot twist: Formula 1 will be a pullback set. Of course it wont happen. Im also thinked about the functions of every unrevealed set. Im gonna leave them here 42133 - Moving Arm, Extending arm (maybe) 42136 - Steering, unloading tipper, Inline Piston Engine (maybe) 42139 - Suspension, Steering and Winch 42140 - Control+ set 42141 - Steering connected with steering wheel, Fake Piston Engine, Speed Transmission Gearbox (maybe) 42130 - Steering, Suspension, Fake Piston Engine, 6-8 speed gearbox. StudWorks Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 (edited) Excited for the revealing of the BMW motorcycle as well. msk6003 Opposite to your prediction, I hope that the next 1:8 scale supercar won't be the Audi R8. The R8 isn't that interesting to me anymore and also the last two sets have been incredibly expensive hypercars, hoping it's a Koenigsegg because of the Jesko Speed Champions set. (Cough cough, Gemera) Edited December 8, 2021 by StudWorks Quote
R4ph Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 I don't think it'll be a Koenigsegg for the 1:8 model. (but I'd like to be wrong) It is a flagship, so the car brand need to speak to people, instead of being a more confidential company, that most people never heard of. One thing interesting about the past models as well, Porsche, Bugatti, Lamborghini, are all part of the Volkswagen group. Rimac has links to Bugatti and could be good, but again too confidential I think. Quote

Expand And Rimac's are single-speed electrics (I'm pretty sure they're single-speed, I'll say at most a two-speed), which would make for a very boring model mechanically. I certainly hope Lego doesn't plan to remove transmissions from their 1:8 supercars anytime soon! That's about all the complexity they've got! Quote

That's about all the complexity they've got! Expand While I like the complex gearboxes in Lego vehicles, it's not that fun IMHO to play with. I prefer remote control models with no gearbox. I have a gearbox in my current MOC and even though I enjoy the complexity and realism, having no gearbox adds simplicity and room. I think a 1:8 Rimac would be really darn cool, it's a great chance for Lego to release a 1:8 scale car with Control+. The Sian set was almost $400, and the CAT bulldozer dethroned it with its $450 price tag. Other than Control+ I'm begging to see what Lego can add to a 1:8 scale car that costs $150 more than 2016's Porsche. Quote
msk6003 Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 (edited) 1:8 C+ car is good idea and I want see one but it will be terribly slow. And outside volkswagen, I want see benz SLS AMG in 1:8 supercar set. Edited December 9, 2021 by msk6003 Quote

AVCampos Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 If LEGO launches a 1:8 supercar with remote control instead of a gearbox, people will complain that if they wanted a big RC car, they'd get a Tamiya or some such brand. Quote

Expand Which is true. I can also get any one of the Chinese counterfeit Technic brands which sell 1:8 RC cars. But why does it have to be either RC or mechanically accurate, why cant it be both? Sure it's not great with the current gearbox parts Technic has, but with a more realistic gearbox system they could easily have an RC 1:8 car that's mechanically realistic and interesting. Quote
