I "know" him (we converse a lot on his YT channel)! I made sure to vote for The Dig Site! It's a great throwback to Adventurers as well as a real gem for anyone interested in archaeology, poetry, desert landscapes, or any combination of the above!

I didn't know there is a YT channel. Have to check it out!

I have always been very interested in Adventurers mocs and stuff like Indiana Jones and the dig site fits perfectly. And I love how the face and hand are constructed and now can be examined by the team of archeologists.

I won't be voting for it. You should be honest about promoting your own designs.

Hm... where was I dishonest? I just asked about thoughts, I didn't beg for votes.

Based on your username, it looks like you are the designer?

Well, I suppose that I'm not really in the "target audience" for it - especially when, with that part count, it would be $300+. So, it simply doesn't appeal to me personally. The bigger thing, though, is that I have questions about how stable it would be when fully built. Is the weight going to cause any issues? Are all the parts going to stay on? Can I pick it up without crushing it? It looks like there are only digital renders, so it's hard to say how it could perform IRL. Maybe a cross-section could be included, so people could know what it looks like inside? Not to say that I think it looks bad or anything! Those are just my initial thoughts based on it.

Yes, it is my work. Regarding stability etc, I never do digital projects without making them first in real life, so zeppelin was build and "tested" during 2 exhibitions - it survived without any issues. Can be transported, lifted, moved, carried without any problem. However, indeed it is not small - 85cm long :)

The full name of the channel is octane thermoplastic, but be forewarned: he mostly does Legend of Zelda MOCs.

Ah - gotcha! That does help alleviate a lot of my fears. In the future, then, I might include at least one "IRL" picture of the submission - those ones always stand out to me, and it lets me know that the actual build can actually be done (I mentioned the JonasKramm designs, and he does something similar). Best of luck to you!

Yeah, thanks! :pir-huzzah2: Found it already by searching for the BDP user name and then looking for pictures/videos.

I am in love with the dig site set and wish I could build it. Though I am not even at Bricklink and don't like the way the sets are distributed. But there are many great submissions and cool ideas I like to admire.

Thank you. I assumed that models must be buildable, so I will keep your advise for future.

This time, I tried to be pretty sparing with my use of "Like It" and "Love It", so as not to dilute my vote. I marked a few medium-size castles as "Like It", and nearly everything else as "Not For Me". The only three that I marked "Love It" were the following, which are the only three I can definitely see myself buying. I really hope the Classic Space Rover makes it through this time - it was my favorite build one or two rounds ago, but it wasn't selected. The Intergalactic Justice Enforcer is also very creative without being too big and complex and overdesigned. The Broadside Brawl is two nice little brick-built sailing ships that would make a great playset.

Agreed with you on that. I also put love it only on the sets I would want to buy.

The rover was also on my list and a few buildings. I found this round having lots of stuff that is totally not that interesting or inspiring enough to justify a BL price tag. Took me a while to get to interesting designs while flipping through the pages.

According to this, Lego is releasing all excess/unsold copies of BDP Series 1 and 2 on May 20.

But only for North America!

I can't find any other information about it though. I'm in the US and not had an email about it, despite buying in previous rounds, having a regular Bricklink buyers account, and having sold on Bricklink. I wonder what qualifies you to be able to buy something.

I was tempted by the General Store in round 1 but didn't go for it, thinking I had nothing else to pair it with. Then the train came along, which was fabulous, and it made me considering parting it out, so this would be a much easier way to get it.

@RichardGoring You can read more about it here at Brickset (although really there isn't much to read - It's a very short announcement)

Well... That "second chance" restock didn't last long! Mountain Fortress and Mushroom House sold out in about 5 minutes, everything besides Logging Railway and Ominous Isle was sold out in 15 minutes, and now, about 25 minutes after, only Logging Railway is left.

About what I thought it would be, though. They made it pretty clear the numbers were going to be very limited, but hopefully a few people were able to get some sets they missed out on. Now if only they could do this to regular retail sets after they retire for a last shot at some sets...

I was just having a look at the Series 5 page and now at the top I noticed the following quote,

Quote

More Series 5 Sets? You Got It!

The love for Series 5 has blown us away! We know it’s tough when sets sell out before you can get your hands on them, so we teamed up with our manufacturing friends to make more sets available. This may not be the case for future series, so don't miss your chance to get in on the fun.

Has anyone seen more about this and knows what the new production amounts are for this series?

Posted

That's good news to be honest. This is my favourite series and I may not be able to get online immediately, so hopefully it increases the chances of things not selling out.

Perhaps the number of votes they had in comparison with previous rounds?

Or it could just be the marketing way of saying that they're increasing capacity in general, but let's make it sound special for just this round (and not tie themselves into overproduction for future ones if it doesn't work out).

Scalpers are not going to like it. And that's a good thing! :pir-huzzah2:

The Brothers Brick posted their Mushroom Village review two days ago: https://www.brothers-brick.com/2025/06/06/lego-bricklink-designer-program-series-5-mushroom-village-make-some-shroom-on-the-shelf-review/

Video for Adventure in Transylvania (size comparisons with Rivendell and Lion Knight's Castle):

Video for Popcorn Wagon:

There is also a review of Thieves of Tortuga from... that one clickbait site I don't like, so I won't link it here. But at lest there's at least one review of all of the sets out there.

I will say that, after watching the reviews, I'm no longer sold on the Popcorn Cart - it just seems really simple, and the "popping" feature is pretty underwhelming, even compared to the $5 polybag from half a decade ago.

However, Adventures in Transylvania looks super good! There's a lot of details there I didn't initially catch, and one of the commentors makes several connections between the set and the original Dracula book, to where the set could arguably be called a Dracula set. However, I just don't think that I have the shelf space or budget for it - I'm only in for a Mushroom Village on this one.

Ha! me too. I am going to get that set anyway, so feel no need to watch the review.

The Antique Store review changed my opinion so that I will probably try to get it too. Thanks for sharing!

With credit to @mark1991t I think these are the direct links for series 5 later. Saves having to go through Bricklink and then to LEGO, so we avoid at least one of the overloading sites.
