RichardGoring Posted February 16 Posted February 16 And now all of them say funded. I wonder how successful this round will be compared to previous ones. Quote
JohnTPT17 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 WALT is tempting me - might make for a fun, unique desk toy. Everything else isn't in the budget for me this time, though. Quote
squiz18 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 looks like Sushi, Alchemist and Fortuna have sold out, in the UK at least Quote
RichardGoring Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Oh wow, yes. They're sold out in the US too. StoneWars is showing that only 37,000 of the Fortuna and Sushi Restaurant are sold and 40,000 of the Alchemist's Shop, so they're not getting up to the 50,000 limit originally thought. Total sales across series 7 are 143,500 so far with a few hours left. https://www.stonewars.de/news/bdp-series-7-finale-designs/ Quote

If fomo kicks in I'll get it on ebay. From what I've seen most of the BDP sets don't seem to increase massively on the aftermarket.  Quote
RichardGoring Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Curious. Very impressive to achieve this and suggests they will keep going for a while. 1 hour ago, squiz18 said: I was tempted by the sushi restaurant but didn't pull the trigger. Found it for only $20 over RRP, so hopefully that continues, although at the same time, it feels like these are becoming more widely known about and bought to build with fewer being bought for resale as there isn't much in it. danth Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Dumb question. Can anyone point me to the "parts list" that bricklink designers are allowed to use in their builds? Is there one? Quote
Leewan Posted February 23 Posted February 23 For each series they release a specific palette in stud.io that basically contains parts that are currently in production, but during the refining period we can use newer elements that appear between the submission date and the preorder date. Â Quote
Murdoch17 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 (edited) Just a little over an hour left (71 minutes, actually) to go until ordering gets shut down! I wonder what the final numbers of orders will be? Edited February 23 by Murdoch17 Quote

I waffled back and forth on it for a week, but I went and put in an order for a single copy of WALT this morning before the pre-order window closed. I'd say it's surprising how few copies WALT sold, but if everybody was as lukewarm on it as I was that's not all that strange. WALT is a cute little robot and very well designed at a very fair price, but it's not as different from Lego's usual fare as the Fortuna, and it doesn't fill such a huge niche gap in the product line as Fortuna does. When it comes time to pre-order BDP 8 in June, I think I'll get Coconut Cape and the Hot Air Balloon. Quote
RichardGoring Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I ordered WALT after watching Racing Brick's review. It's small and cheap enough to consider it just for the build experience, which looked really good, and I liked the well thought out internals and face storage options. I agree that it doesn't fill one of the popular niches, but it's delightfully whimsical. Quote
JohnTPT17 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I hopped on the WALT train at the last minute as well. I figured that, at absolute worst, I can cancel the order before it ships if I'm really regretting things some May. Quote
