Imagine a play scale Acclamator with Delta squad and trandoshans.

That would be cool. Always have to take the opportunity to show off my Acclamator since it's one of my favorite builds:

Spoiler

After the disappointing 2026 news, here's another Walletbuster wave: A wave of sets where I'd likely buy every single one of them. My last one tried to be more realistic in terms of set material, this one.... is not. Lots of generic mandalorian stuff that basically serve as vehicles to give me templates for different mandalorian ships and figure parts/colors so I can expand my displays.

Sith leviathan Microfighter ($12.99): Darth Revan

Jedi Survivor Mech ($16.99): A red and white mech designed in BD-1's aesthetic. Comes with Cal Kestis (Jedi survivor defaults)

Mandalorian Clan Pack 1 ($19.99): Beskar forge with Mandalorian Blacksmith (Male, Bright Red armor and jetpack with dark brown undersuit), Mandalorian Ace (Female, yellow armor and jetpack with white undersuit), Mandalorian Artisan (Female, Bright Red armor and jetpack with dark brown undersuit), Mandalorian Flier (Male, Yellow armor and jetpack with white undersuit).

Mandalorian Clan Pack 2 ($19.99): Mandalorian speeder and refueling station with Mandalorian Racer (Female, dark orange armor with reddish brown undersuit like the male mando from the 2020 pack), Mandalorian Gunslinger (Male, Pink armor on magenta undersuit, cape), Mandalorian Ranger (Male, standard Green armor with azure highlights and dark brown undersuit like the female mando in the 2020 pack), Mandalorian Sentinel (Female, silver armor with dark brown suit, sort of like a Nite Owl set for Din's armor)

Mandalorian Fang Fighter ($37.99): Mandalorian Fang Fighter in green and azure livery with Mandalorian Scout (Female, similar to 2020 green design but with more green on the body and an azure set of jag eyes on the helmet), Mandalorian Shadow (Male, black armor), Mandalorian Polar (Female, white armor), and Mandalorian Bishop (Male, white armor)

Chariot Assault Tank ($54.99): Comes with an Imperial Officer, Chariot Driver, Stormtrooper Commander, Mara Jade, R2-D2, and Luke Skywalker.

Clone Headhunter vs Vulture Droid ($64.99): Headhunter and Vulture Droid (smaller than the 2014 one) with Plo Koon, Warthog, Wolffe, and 2x Wolfpack Trooper.

Mandalorian Gauntlet Starfighter ($109.99): Mandalorian Gauntlet fighter (Red and reddish brown with orange highlights) with a 2-seater cockpit and function to drop the seating rack below the fuselage to act as a dropship. Comes with Mandalorian Firewing (Female, bright red armor with reddish brown undersuit and orange accents, pilot box on torso like the Rebels mandos), Mandalorian Inferno (Orange armor with bright red accents and reddish brown undersuit with dark tan fur cape), Mandalorian Blazer (Male, bright red armor with dark red undersuit and silver accents), Mandalorian Ghost (Female, Gunmetal armor and undersuit), Mandalorian Chameleon (Male, dark tan armor with reddish brown undersuit), Mandalorian Sniper (Female, pink armor with magenta undersuit), 2x Mandalorian Claimsmen (light bluish grey armor with dark bluish grey undersuit) and 2x Mandalorian Claimswomen (light bluish grey armor with dark bluish grey undersuit).

Echo Base ($159.99): Large Hoth Echo Base build with the main doors, medical bay, snowspeeder hanger with midi-scale snowspeeder, and command room. Also includes one of each turret type. Comes with Luke Skywalker (bacta tank), Leia (Hoth), Major Derlin, R-3PO, Wedge Antilles, Wes Janson, 3x Rebel Trooper (With faces meant to resemble Namir, Roja, and Beak), Chewbacca (snowy), a Snowtrooper Commander, and 2x Snowtrooper.

D2C: The Stinger Mantis ($239.99): Massive Stinger Mantis with a display stand and plaque. Has a full interior with cockpit, mission select table, living area, kitchen, workshop/engine room, and a hideout for the Bogling. Comes with (All JFO designs) Cal Kestis (Default, poncho), Cere Junda, Greez Ditrius, Nightsister Merrin, BD-1, The Bogling, Second Sister, and 2x Purge Trooper.

That's a nice build although I prefer the all gray look from AOTC and the EU.

Usually after a great deal of complaining, I accept the LSW Team’s set choices every year even though a fair share of them feel incredibly misguided.

However, the ongoing refusal to release a Stinger Mantis is the one thing that really, really bugs me. It would be the perfect set for the £140 price point; the ship is colourful with a somewhat interesting geometry (and the landing configuration would actually translate quite well to a clever set function), the crew would look excellent in minifigure form, and it’s based on a canon video game series that is actually popular within the fandom. With the fairly simple shaping of the main hull, accommodating a decent interior shouldn’t be too onerous either. I guess the demand for JFO / JS in Lego form is overstated within these small online spaces, and Lego’s market research has indicated minimal interest in tackling the games, but surely the Mantis should be on the LSW Team’s radar nonetheless.

Getting sets on these games is literally my #1 wish within this theme (along with a TIE Avenger of course, but at least the Micro Galaxy Squadron version looks fantastic). Reading through the excellent ideas in this thread feels like wish fulfilment.

With some help from artificial intelligence, here is my latest attempt at fleshing out my new sub-theme within LEGO Star Wars - LEGO Star Wars Signatures.

LEGO Star Wars Signatures is my response to what feels like an ever-growing chasm between summer wave flagship sets (i.e. CIS MTT, Imperial Star Destroyer) and UCS/MBS sets, specifically size, cost, and quality. Teenagers and/or adults with lower budgets are being priced out of quality, playsets - 18+ is not, and should not, just be about displayable/decorative sets. They're making LEGO Star Wars  soulless.

LEGO Star Wars Signatures sit within a collector progression path: Flagship, Signatures, UCS/MBS. In other words, an eco system for fans and collectors.

Therefore, the idea is that Signatures are the gateway tier between play and prestige, creating new buyers rather than stealing them; if done right, they grow the market around UCS/MBS sets. Simply, Signatures act as a transition tier for more advanced builders and fans, where UCS/MBS sets remain as the ultimate centrepiece for collectors. And because flagship sets are reframed within this tiered collector ladder, it should strengthen the identity of these sets as playsets with lots of figures and a smaller scale because at the moment they are in a hazy identity crisis where the sets cater to very few people. Finally, Signatures are smaller in scaler, but more affordable than their MBS counterparts. They should have less figures, but will be feel more complete than a flagship equivalent i.e 2023 Yavin IV Temple. The defining feature of Signatures is their soul of UCS craftsmanship with the spirit of a playset - this is encapsulated within the core promise: "Built to play, crafted for display".

This will attract older teens and adults who love LEGO but cannot invest in UCS sets while offering aspirational builds for younger fans transitioning into collector-grade LEGO.

Key Features:

  • £180-£250
  • Premium-feeling, yet affordable, interactive, and authentic
  • Flagship set box-art, with premium striping around the border
  • Accompanying builds where needed - landing platforms, display standards, environments. They must enhance the display, though, rather than inflating piece counts.
  • Collector tile - 2x4 tile naming the set and wave number in a metallic silver print
  • Instructions with 1-2 pages of designer notes and concept art
  • Minifigure philosophy: where a set has 3 versions within the tier, the flagship sets should have the fewest exclusive figures, the signature version should have exclusive figures making it worthwhile for owners of the UCS/MBS to buy, and the UCS sets should have the highest quality figures. As a general rule the MBS sets have the most amount of figures. Compared to their UCS counterparts, the Signature sets should have more figures in instances where there's 1-2 figures (i.e 2025 Slave One) but less where the UCS set works similar to an MBS (i.e. 2025 Sail Barge). Signatures should have a blend of core figures, and 2-4 exclusive figures. All minifigure lineups should reference and be relative to each tier, even if hypothetically (say a flagship and a UCS set existed such as the AT-AT Walker).

Examples:

  • Tantive IV 75244 - the closest Star Wars example
  • Milano 76286 - similar in terms of the balance between figures, display, and detail. Signatures are larger in scale, though.
  • The Guardian Dragon 71847 - relative to the other dragons over the years

Based on this, I challenge each of you to devise at least 5 set ideas - ideally, you will need to create the 3 sets per 'set idea' so they show the pathway and you can relativize the mini figures, price points, and piece counts etc.

Also, any feedback is appreciated!
