I know!

I do wonder where the torso will be, given the helmet and tanks will be in PAB. Or are we getting a whole fig?

Also, we are still waiting for the bright light blue helmet!!!

I heard a rumor that the light green spaceman might come with the buildable blue spaceman, though I think a blue spaceman would make more sense for that.

I'm getting mixed up with all these color name differences used betwedn the LEGO Group and Bricklink. Is 'bright green' the same shade of green used for the Space Mech LEGO Ideas set from a decade ago?

bright green is that slightly lighter shade of green the baseplates are, as well as the shade of green in the Everyone is Awesome set.

I think the  actual rumour is it's once again just half a spaceman in the 500 quid fish tank. Wouldn't expect LEGO to do anything as "kind" as putting any Classic Space figure or any part of one in anything that's either not limited or cheaper than 120 quid.

Now it makes sense!

Lego is giving us an (expensive) opportunity to complete the lineup, "Every Classic Spaceman is Awesome".

I wondered why bright light blue, and now bright green took precedence over some other unique colors.

A new Ideas GWP will be based on the Build, Paint, Play! model by Doomslizer.

Selection announcement for the Build Your Favorite Hobby challenge! | LEGO® Ideas

It has a blue classic space figure and light grey helmet and airtank included. Who knows whether the final version will have them all too, but one to watch. I also wonder if they will do a light grey classic space torso in this too. Or none of them, because you typically only get one new print and no moulds or recolours in GWPs...

Remember it's not the final product, they could change the sprew bit to be black or white or swap out the Blue spaceman for another orange or white one. Though it would be cool if the blue one was swapped out for the third place winner in the vote.

That's what I was thinking too.  I'll be very surprised if the final version is blue.

True. A noble attempt nonetheless.

It wouldn't surprise me if the final version is blue if only because blue is a popular color for Classic Spacemen (see also Benny and the rumored 6x scale Classic Space fig set for next year), and works especially well to work in the classic blue, grey, and yellow Classic Space color scheme even when an actual vehicle isn't present (like in this set).

Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but for a set as small and focused as this one it would make sense to keep things relatively faithful to the original design, especially when it just requires a couple recolors instead of bringing back retired molds or anything that might be out of budget.

Have they ever done a recolour in a GWP? I just want them to reuse teal or something, slow down with these new colours

I don't want to be overly pessimistic, but I just feel like they've had ample opportunity to re-issue blue and black over the last 10 years, but for some reason Lego has not.  Even red and yellow seemed like pretty limited release (only in sets 10497 Galaxy Explorer (red) 70841 Benny's Space Squad (yellow), I believe?)

It seems white is the only CS minifig color Lego is willing to make generally available.

The good news is Lego seems to consistently issue air tanks/helmets to match released torsos, so I have hope they'll keep the sprue parts light bluish gray.

Yeah, I don't like this either, I'd rather they just make the colours we have readily available rather than have 73 sllightly different shades of blue Space fig but this is gonna be a GWP, it will also be a pretty limited release.

Has a GWP ever had exclusive recolours though, we might be in luck and they make one of the 2 shades of blue (Teal, Dark Blue) with the pieces all currently in production more readily available with this akin to what they did with orange

They have, even if it's slightly rarer. Forgot that this would be a future GWP, that might make it less likely to get as many recolors (even if there's still some).

Oh, when? That'd be interesting to see how many parts at most are recoloured in a GWP. I think it might just be the light grey parts with a reused Spacefig. Could be wishful thinking on my part

It looks like Galileo 40595 has a unique blue piece to represent the Earth.  I think that's also an Ideas GWP?

If he got us a third color, then he would be a Legend!!!

I won't say no to that!!!

If the gunpla is kept light bluish gray (LBG), they could probably skip doing a printed torso since it already came out in the CMF. Is it easy for them to just recolor the air tanks and helmet as LBG? If yes, I think this is the easiest/ path of least resistance for Lego to make the gunpla sheet.

I wouldn't mind a blue spaceman as the completed figure 'display'. Especially since it is high in demand. They probably could also weigh this demand against how close the third place vote was for the vending machine. Lastly, I have always wanted them possibly let us complete one of the three colors that have either had an air tank or helmet but with no other parts to complete: pearl dark gray, dark orange, and dark bluish gray.

It does, yeah. It is rare though. I imagine it'll just be grey parts made and a reused space figure luckily

I'm just wondering if Lego is reserving blue CS minifig for Benny specifically.  Agree blue is popular, but to the mass public blue = Benny.

I don't even think it's that, I think they just don't want to rerelease colours if they can help it anymore, they haven't done black in this era, Yellow and Red were only in one set each both before the era of parting these figures out was normalised, even when they did put White and Orange in sets last year they refused to give them the right heads or air tanks. LEGO wants these figures to be more collectible clearly because that makes them more money. If they put Blue in a set the insane completionist collector won't buy it because they already have blue, if they do a slightly different shade of blue they will.

People have spotted the new bright green space helmet and air tank in the $330 UCS Christmas Tree set. 😭😒

If this is just a way of getting those pieces into PAB, then I'm for it. Otherwise, wow.

Since we currently have no access to PAB in the US thes new parts are going to be unavailable to us for the foreseeable future.  Not planning to spend $330 for the Christmas Tree.

I wonder where/which set the torso will appear in?

So, the dark blue helmet and air tanks appeared together on a Dreamzzz set.  And now the bright green together as well. Why did they have to split the bright light blue? With the helmet still missing!

Oh dear, this will jack up the prices on BL!

The new Blacktron minifig from the minifigure book looks fantastic.

It's growing on me. At first I didn't care about it, but I like the printed helmet.

What's really cool is you can mix parts with two regular Blacktron figs so that each has a Blacktron symbol somewhere.
