SpacePolice89 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I'm very happy that the upscaled blue Classic Space astronaut has a printed logo. I'm not sure if I would even buy it if it had a sticker. I'll buy it next time I go to a Lego store. Quote

With no minifig, that beautiful Space print is the prized piece of the set. Quote
Space78 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Agree, a sticker would have been inexcusable in a set like this and given how large the image is on that piece. I would think custom stickers would be very easy to get/have made these days for anyone that wants them. Quote
RichardGoring Posted January 30 Posted January 30 JANG did a video suggesting adding an additional clear backed sticker, which sounds like a good idea. Shame there isn't a blue Minifigure in the set either. Quote
icm Posted January 31 Posted January 31 @danth, sorry for calling you the "self-appointed president of the sticker haters association" in a post in another thread a few weeks ago. Said president is a different Eurobricks user. Anyway - I don't have hardly any interest in the upscaled minifig itself, but I might have to get a few of that big blue panel with the CS logo print. It'll be perfect for ground bases and so forth. Hopefully it's not too expensive on Bricklink or Pick-a-Brick! I guess maybe I could talk myself into getting the upscaled CS minifig as a companion piece to the GWP red Spacebaby or the Creator 3-in-1 astronaut, but character/creature/mech builds usually aren't my thing. Just fairly rigid swooshies and cars. Quote

danth Posted February 1 Posted February 1 This from the description of the Upscaled Blue Astronaut on Lego.com: Quote FULL OF DETAILS – This collectible LEGO® minifigure features movable arms, legs and hands, plus mini robots and a rocket hidden inside its helmet I wonder what the hidden rocket looks like. I suspected some gimmick when I saw the trans red bits on the airtanks. Quote

Lyichir Posted February 1 Author Posted February 1 It could be kinda cool if maybe there was another robot hidden in the airtanks or something, but I don't know how likely that is. And the way the torso and legs on these figs are built there isn't really room for one there. Most likely just a typo. Quote

No, lego doesn't do that anymore; you'll have to buy 3 different 130 dollar non-space sets to get your blue astronaut. icm Posted February 16 Posted February 16 JJP leaks site lists an upcoming Icons set as set 11382, TBA Space?, 18+, 1552p, $130, August 1. I don't suppose we have any idea what that is? It's a perfect parts count and price to finally be an Apollo CSM, or maybe it's another retro Space throwback set, or maybe it's something completely different? Does anybody know? Quote
Dolor Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Is there a LEGO space theme? I mean this silver badge/logo on the packaging. Why can't it be its own theme, but Technic, CITY, Friends, Dreamzzz, Creator and so on. I'm trying to collect all the CITY/Space sets and polybags. I'd like the theme not to be under city. It's not related to City. (Planet X far from our own solar system) . Quote

Alas, space doesn't get that. At least castle and pirates gets scraps from the BLDP, but overall its really dry On 2/16/2026 at 10:14 AM, icm said: JJP leaks site lists an upcoming Icons set as set 11382, TBA Space?, 18+, 1552p, $130, August 1. Lyichir Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 (edited) Now that reviews/speed build videos of the Classic Space upscaled figure are out, it's easier to get a sense of the build. A nice little touch is that, like the Galaxy Explorer set, most colored internal parts (save for a few dark grey parts and brown technic axles) are classic colors. The hips have an updated connection style using AT-AT-style click joints instead of the paired Bionicle ball joints previous upscaled figs use, which is slightly more limited for display and less smooth to turn but is probably sturdier overall. Disappointingly, the printed slopes used for screens in the cockpit in the head are more modern computer console screens instead of the classic-inspired ones from the Galaxy Explorer (but chances are those are out of production and given what a minor little bonus the cockpit in the head is, probably not worth the cost to reintroduce compared to other recolors). There's a handful of parts in the set that somewhat limit the potential to recolor the fig into other colors of classic space fig, at least for now. The biggest issue is the new 1x4x2 1/3 arch brick, which so far only comes in blue (though it's reasonable to expect colors like white, black, and red to arrive eventually). The airtanks and helmet also use 2x2x5 and 4x4x3 quarter cylinder panels, which also exist in white and black but no other classic space colors. These could be substituted for stacks of 2x2 or 4x4 macaroni bricks, though this would increase the number of stud notches visible on these sections. The 1x4 inverted double slope pieces used on the hands also only come in white and red but not yellow, and the 1x3 inverse half-arches used for the hips do not yet come in yellow. EDIT: Corrected some errors I made. Edited February 21 by Lyichir Quote

Thanks, I checked out the Brickset review and the video by AustrianBrickFan. I guess the product description about hidden rockets in the helmet was just totally wrong? Or am I missing something? I remember building the leg joints in 40649; I couldn't believe they were using a single cross axle to support the weight of an entire huge leg! The use of large click joints seems like a good idea. I was sort of hoping for some hidden gimmick. Imagine how cool it would be if the interior was all light bluish gray with some trans yellow bricks/panels thrown in just for the alt build potential.
