Desno_HD Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Hello i have a question, my 9893 is very short on torque. It can barely drive over one of my feet. I tried changing from rechargeable batteries to normal ones but it has no effect. Please Help me. Thanks in advance. Quote
1gor Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 (edited) Perhaps you have some problem made during assembly? Did you check if everything is build according instructions? Perhaps some images from below would be useful? (For images try bricksafe or Flickr hosting and paste link for images not bigger than 1024p here) Edited April 16, 2020 by I_Igor Quote

Was is the same problem from first day? Sometimes (but very rare) is problem with motors, but how it behaves on even floor e.g in your room without obstacles? But I have never tried it with Claas tires, perhaps are they rubbing somewhere. Does it work with 94.8 balloon tires and Unimog tires? Edited April 17, 2020 by I_Igor Quote
jshuiting Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 I'm guessing the extra height of the claas tires is decreasing torque,or at least makes it allot more difficult for the car to lift itself. Even the 42070 can be made much more agile by fitting some smaller tires. Quote

I have noticed that on my MOC, I need 2 XL motors to have sufficient pull power; one XL motor is better than 2L motors, but not enough. Quote
technicbuilder Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 If you change the gears in the wheel hub ,you get also more torque . 10 tooth and 24 tooth Quote

I had some 3rd party RC tyres on my 9398, which are same size as Claas, but have more grip than LEGO ones. Didn't observe the issue reported by OP, so there must be something else. To me it looks like batteries don't have the juice, however this has been eliminated. Another concern could be friction, but can't seem to remember if there were places that could cause this. @Desno_HD has your model been working fine at some point? And if yes, has anything happened between then and now - maybe you've kept the set it storage for some time, or it was freshly rebuilt, anything else? Quote
Desno_HD Posted April 17, 2020 Author Posted April 17, 2020 my model is used, i bought it off ebay and has never been working fine. I used to own one back when it was released in 2012 and that one was an absolute beast even without mod's. Back then i thought the problem was that the motors where bad so i bought new ones, that didn't help so i replaced the IR reciever and the battery box. That did not fix the problem. Changing the tires gave it back a lite Torque but not as much as it used to have. Quote
doug72 Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 I would suggest strip it down to individual parts and try re-building it. Quote
1gor Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 Perhaps you could try without motor to see friction, if it "works" smoothly by pushing, then one or both l-motors could cause problem ... Quote
Zerobricks Posted April 17, 2020 Posted April 17, 2020 My suggestion. Take it apart, wash the parts and put it back together. Quote
Desno_HD Posted April 17, 2020 Author Posted April 17, 2020 Taking it apart and rebuilding it sounds like the best idea. Maybe i will wash the parts, i will see that when i have taken them apart. Quote
Desno_HD Posted April 19, 2020 Author Posted April 19, 2020 I rebuild both of the axles and it had no effect whatsoever so I will now resort to driving it with my buwizz. Thanks for all the help. Quote
schraubedrin Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Is there a difference in torque between the axles? That would mean one of the motors has a problem. Is there a difference in torque when you use the other ports on the IR receivers? (switch the servo with the motors) That would mean an electrical problem, e.g. corroded contacts. Quote
amorti Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 It should have the V2 infrared receivers. These send more power. Maybe somebody has put the lesser version in, and sold the set along? Quote
