Yay for wolves & recoloured pup (which, honestly, I think works fine).

Slightly dissapointed that the wolves still have the ‘angry’ eyebrows, and assuming that this means they are identical to the CMF wolf: if you look closely there are inconsistencies in the render pics with the grey printing on the muzzle - sometimes it’s there, sometimes not 

Yes. Thought we had established that? Still seems slightly odd to me to have wave that gives us both though 

I take it nothing of note has  surfaced in any Dreamzzz sets?

Not seeing it on LEGO website yet or I would share photo but in 71494 Zoey's Time Owl there is a molded dark bluish gray rat/chihuahua/kitten/puppy looking piece that is combined with brick built wings to be a bat of some sort. Not sure if new mold or recolor tho....

 

EDIT: Found another angle and it has tail so it actually might just be the (wolf) puppy or kitten, but still hard to tell.

Edit 2: I was thinking about it and even it's the DND CMF wolf/puppy in the same color, it's not a complete loss since it means it might come to PAB....

So what’s the tally so far?

new fox mould

new pigeon mould

new shepherd/wolf pup colour 

wolf in a City set (so it will presumably now be on Bricks & Pieces)

new (unprinted) snail piece in Animal Crossing

I can also see reuse of the light grey shark, dark grey kitten, orange fish & yellow crab.

Tangential to animal chat, but there are also some of the ongoing ‘mini collections’ being added to. More ‘chonky’ cats in the Friends sets, new shields across Friends & Creator sets, and more variant prints of the ‘squishimal’ soft toy introduced in the last CMF. The existing plain hobby horse head also shows up again. 

Oops - also new bulldog print coming in the Privet Drive (another difficult-to-get dog via HP 😡)

Yes and now we are here waiting to get them in red in the next years. Pretty sure they wouldn´t have done the white one if they don´t plan to use i to make a red one later on.

I still think it doesn´t work, and though they tend to be brownish when they are pups, tan is to bright in my opinion.

Yeah seems like the same one, which really surprised me, since of course I expected a white wolf.

Yeah, exactly what I am afraid of - though hens and so were expensive their too, as are animals in general, so I planned to wait for them to show up in BAM one day anyways.

Friends set pictures are out! The unicorn in the pool set is indeed a pool float... but there is also a white horse with a pink mane in the costume party set ornamented with pegasus wings and a new unicorn horn piece (this one with an accessory pin instead of a 3.2mm bar). This allows it to fit on Friends hairpieces and animals (as here) as well as plushies (which it's used for in the comic shop). This new unicorn horn piece is also transparent (suggesting it'll be hard plastic, unlike the larger unicorn horn which uses a rubbery material). Other animals in the Friends sets include baby pandas and shetland ponies, as well as some new cats in the Cat Birthday Party set.

I don’t know how likely panda molds show up in Chinese New Year sets this  year (or specially this winte)? They usually have some budget to make a new headgear every year but no other new molds.

Regarding the pigeons, if they are double moulded  they will be harder to get a reprint and that is unfortunate in addition to the price, however they may look better?

Where do you see the scorpion? 
 

From the pic the bulldog is definitely different from the one we have - the white patch on face is bigger, and seems to extend above and around the eyes.

Waiting to see better pics of the pigeons in real life, been fooled by renders before! To me it would seem odd to produce the mould with a dual mould meaning it couldn’t be produced in a plain white ‘dove’ version. But Lego logic is confusing sometimes …

The scorpion is in a display case in the Animal Crossing museum set. At first I thought it was a new recolor (dark brown), but my sister pointed out to me that in the lifestyle photos with the set being played with it just looks dark red (in which case it's not new).

Ah okay, haven’t seen those images. Dark red, if memory serves, was only with the CMF mummy, so it’s still a pretty rare colour for the scorpion. 🤓

Yeah, exactly what I am afraid of - though hens and so were expensive their too, as are animals in general, so I planned to wait for them to show up in BAM one day anyways.

 

Still will make the wolf easier to get trying to find the beastmaster has been incredibly hard I have only found 3 so far.

Yeah, sadly it is even harder to get him than it was with the Paladin. Im actually quite glad that the next two series have probably no figure I will care about, and even if I would like one of the spider man, I would think they will be way easier to get.

Yeah I just picked up 2 more Paladin's from Barnes and Noble.  I've finally got a decent size unit of them now at 14.  The beastmaster has been so hard to find.  Hopefully I can find a few more of him as things calm down towards the end of this cmf run.

I've had little luck finding the Beastmaster.  I got two by buying two complete sets through my fellow LUG member's connection.  I got one from the LEGO Store. And I lucked into a fresh display at a Walmart when they first put the Easter Display out only because I was probably the first one to find them so I got the three that were there.  All the local Walmarts have all the LEGO locked up now.   Checked the one Target near me that actually seems to stock the CMF's yesterday and all they had were the F1 boxes.  Barnes & Noble has them behind the counter so not easy trying to get anyone to let you scan them.  I hate to see what they will be charging for the wolf once it hits PAB.  Most likely a much better deal if one can find the CMF at retail anywhere.  A friend has found some in a local grocery store chain.  The one near me is usually a series behind so maybe I will be able to find some there in the near future.  I had no trouble finding the Paladin.

Unfortunately that is probably right, if they had not suddenly started taking crazy high prices for all animals I would believe they did it with the CMF animals to keep the hype going.

I wonder why they have increased the prices so much on PAB, is it:

1. Because people will buy them anyway so they increase the price a lot to earn even more money (pure greed)?
2. Set sales have dropped because people have less money, so they want to force people to buy sets instead of just the best parts of PAB?
3. They outsource PAB so it cost more money? Make little sense to me, if anything that should be cheaper for them, right?
4. Suggestions?

I think it’s a combination of ‘make people buy whole sets’ and ‘because they can, and people will pay it’. Increased prices on B&P means also increased prices in after sales markets like Bricklink.

I think the argument that some animals are costly because of multiple colours in mould and printing is not reflected in how they are then prices on B&P, plus it’s blown out if the water when something like a cockatoo appears in BAM stations. 

When the dual moulded sheep first appeared in B&P it was fairly reasonably priced, and in keeping with tiger single mould animals. When the goat bowed up, it cost about three times the price, despite being one colour mould. Now we see the sheep reappear and conveniently  have a prude point similar to the goat … £££

Let’s see what happens with the wolf. Lego *know* it’s going to be a desirable animal, and people would want more than one. If they were a couple of pounds/euros I can see people buy them in bulk: if they are five or six, I can see people just buying one.

Have seen the pics inside the Animal Crossing museum now. I honestly couldn’t call the colour of that scorpion from those pics! Does seem like we are getting the coral  piece in a new colour (purple) though.
