I’m incredibly disappointed, even though I collect costumed minifigures as well. You guys have been here longer than I have - is there a chance that the leaks are ever wrong? Or at least incomplete? Is it possible that there may be one or two animals included with the figures?

Yeah what Roebuck said. Leaks we haven’t liked have all proved true lately, and this list seems very detailed and believable. Also, it seems to feature a lot of required new parts to create the listed figures, meaning less new moulds for accessories, and any animals *are* usually picked up by leakers. What we have instead is a series of detailed accessories which don’t require new moulds.

Dude... dont even put that out in the universe

Lets just pray Series 29 will be out next may and it be a regular normal series

I’m gald they won’t put new animal molds into aniaml costum CMF Series  so AFOLA (Adult Fans of Lego Aniamls) won’t hunt down certain animal molds like wolf, goat, etc.  no matter how I love animal molds, I’m still happy with costume series.  Sorry dudes / dudettes…

Between the relatively lackluster summer wave (animal-wise) and 3 CMF series with no new moulds to offer, I can't believe we're looking at basically a year or more between substantial animal releases

Still think this is an odd take given that

a) CMFs make new animals available at a relatively low price point (rather than buying a huge set)

b) in time almost every animal that’s come in CMFs has appeared somehow afterwards in sets, BAM, and /or Bricks & Pieces

Yeah, Al thought i think the mouse is only the animal from the costume-themed series taht never appear in years.

I'm not sure if this is to right place to ask this, so feel free to warn me if it's not.

In January 2026, I'll be displaying my animal collection at a convention. I'm looking for ideas to display them. A friend of mine will design small habitats for them, but we both need inspiration. I'd appreciate it if you can share any builds you've come across, or any ideas you have on displaying animals. There are around 600 animals (including DUPLO), so I'm hoping we can finish the build before the convention :))

Maybe the Lego animal mould designer took a sabbatical. LOL

Its probably more to do with the designers making the sets and the overall strategy to Lego. Hopefully it's just a little bump before we are back on track. However we might not have gotten so many animals as the last few years, but the quality have been superb with pigeons and fox that I personally have waited many years for and e.g wolf that many others have been waiting a long time for:steve:

A rather poor choice of year to do so, given the CMF animal theme!

I'm hoping that it means an actual future animal themed CMF (e.g. all animal accessories) is still a possibility, as if we had seen some animals here (a bit like the weird Space mish-mash one), this possibility may have been less likely for the future. I don't trust Lego at all to do this though...

Maybe they feel they already spent too much money on the head moulds. LOL

But as much as I am a fan of the animal costume figs, I would really also love more new animal moulds.

Look up ZooBricks on YouTube if it's inspiration for enclosures you want. She is a ZooKeeper and is slowly building out a zoo.

I love her stuff, and am also a bit jealous of some of the animals she has in bulk! To @pinar’s point though, I think those sort of enclosures are too ‘busy’ to really display lots of animals well. If the goal is to display the animals, I’d stick to simpler environments or backdrops, and I’d also give good consideration to the colours used for the background elements - that they properly complement and show the critters.

Am curious as to how you will do this. Especially when it comes to separating or integrating animals across themes and systems. For me, I find it easiest and most gratifying to see ‘like for like’ against each other, but that may just be an aesthetic thing

No warning needed. It’s as good a place as any, and this thread long since stopped being just a guessing game. It’s also pretty relaxed, compared to some others :)

I had no idea someone like that existed! Wow! Definitely going to keep an eye on her.

You're right. While her zoo looks great, it's not suited for what I want to do. I should probably surf a bit on Rebrickable and look at some simple builds of habitats or even scenery that might work for me.

I don't understand what you mean by "like for like". The first thing that comes to mind is City animals vs. Friends animals kind of distinction. If that's the case, I don't think I'll separate them like that. I still have no idea how I'll categorize them, though, so I'll join your curious club 😂

Yeah I mean more - all the Lego big cats together, all the Duplo big cats together, all the Friends big cats together

that makes it possible to see the range without being visually disparate (to me)

I had a kernel of an idea that I haven’t fully fleshed out whereby you could have a display background that had not a vertical and a horizontal axis … kind of like it’s a real world graph or chart.

So you could have say horizontal strata of ‘type of Lego’ set, and the type of animals … so you could simply see the animals beside their kin in both the system type and the species type.

eg:

DUPLO          🐮🐮         🐐          🐑🐏     🐷🐷      🫏

FRIENDS        🐂🐄         🐐🐐   🐑           🐖            🫏

CITY                🐄🐂          🐐🐐   🐑          🐖🐖

CATTLE      GOATS     SHEEP    PIGS       DONKEYS   ETC

Two of the animal CMFs have leaked. The crocodile in full and a very poor quality photo of the fish mask.

The crocodile looks OK. Pretty much what you'd expect really. Nothing especially noteworthy.

The fish on the other hand almost looks like a scaled up rubber duck as it's a large yellow ball with orange lips (and then into a small body with orange tail and fins). Seems a bit odd and not entirely sure that the minifigure will be that great to go with it. A fish with legs?

Marlin had enough of staying in the sea I guess

Both of those appear to have the minifigure face showing through the mouth of the costume head. I expect that might also be true of the dolphin, and possibly the lion, and frog, too.

This year marks a bad turn concering new unlicensed animal molds: We did get four small (cockatoo, special cat, pigeon, fox), only one medium sized (wolf) and no single big new unlicensed animal mold.  (In contrast, 2021 saw five new animal molds only in the City theme!!!!) The next CMF series being all only animal costumes, but no single animal, takes already away the chance to get some new unlicensed animals from CMF series in 2026. And I fear that the rest of the year won't loook better. This is really a pity since Lego has done so many great new unlicensed animal molds in the past years that I was looking forward to this trend continuing ... :sadnew:

Let’s hope for Summer 2026 Lego City visits a location with potential for multiple new animal moulds (e.g. North American National Parks, Amazon Rainforest, African Savannah, Australian Outback)…

I'm rooting for outback, a kangaroo isn't a want at this point, it's a NEED

Agreed. I’d have to rank Outback as my preferred destination over the others for that reason, much as I also *need* a giraffe, beaver & moose

All we do is to enjoy drought before we get nice abundance of animals later!

What kind of Amazon aniamls are we missing?

Updated macaw, sloth, jaguar. Maybe a capybara? I think tapirs and anteaters are very unlikely to ever show up, but the others have been made in Duplo/Friends/Disney styles
