LEGO already had a yellow and black raven knight in CMF, but that doesn't  mean they can't bring back that faction someday in a raven themed Castle set or something, and of course Vikings  / Norse mythology Huginn and Muninn ravens (which were somewhat referenced in the last 3-in-1 viking ship but via brick built small pieces)

It does seem quite unlikey they would bring a CMF faction back, though of course you never know since the Raven Knights seem to be a very popular faction - but for that they would have to do a normal Castle theme again first.

New summer camp Friends sets have leaked. Most of the animals are in the minidoll style, but one has a purple butterfly (pretty sure that’s a new color) and the other seems to have a small owl in dark tan??? I’m not sure about that one since the current picture quality is low and it’s a small part, but there’s definitely something perched in the tree there that’s smaller than any of the normal Friends birds.

Came here to say this - if it’s not the smowl mould, then it might be the existing small bird part in tan. My money is on the smowl - will be interesting to see how it’s printed

The purple butterfly looks unprinted to me and is used as petals in the 10329 Tiny Plants Set. The small owl looks ligth than to me, but could aswell be the same as in the harry potter Set or another similar colour. Kinda hard to tell in that tiny picture

Yeah, I’ve already seen people speculating about a possible Odin/Allfather character in the future CMFs thread. For that matter, Valkyries were often depicted as being accompanied by ravens (since Valkyries are supposed to escort the souls of slain warriors to Valhalla, and ravens also tend to swoop down on the corpses left on the battlefield for more practical purposes), and so far as I can tell, while Lego did a Viking woman in a cmf awhile back (long enough for her to be less than impressive next to the Viking Village figs), they’ve never done an actual Valkyrie. So that would be cool to see as well.

I think the did a Viking minifigure in a recent CMF. - Seires 21, I think. I need to look it up. The Viking with hornless helmet and orange beard.

There’s a few more shots up and I’m now 100% sure that it’s the small owl in a new color, but it’s not shown close up enough to see if the eyes are minifig system compatible. The same set also appears to introduce beavers, albeit in the Friends style.

Interesting find: the new Milky Way art set seems to make use of an unprinted hermit crab piece! Same colour as far as I can tell.

Of course! I was wondering what is what, thinking it was an unfamiliar hairpiece, but I couldn't figure it out.

Better pics of the new Friends sets also seem to show a new BEAVER mould - though it’s not very clear. I’m hopeful this might be a precursor to getting one in ‘City’ style too 🦫

Might even be an adult and a young beaver too … look in the water between the two trees

Has a Friends animal mould ever found its way into a City (or other minifigure based) set?

I always thought a beaver would be a good shout for the CMF being an animal not too large.

Anyway, curse those Heartlake City folk for again having an animal needed on Planet Minifig (still waiting for those llamas, sea lions and sloths)! 😩

Here’s hoping Lego have a Safari Park City subtheme up their sleeves for next year and we finally get those zebras, hippos, rhinos and giraffes I’ve spent decades yearning for!

Well sometimes concurrent mould introductions appear (like the dolphins) and this set seems to have the smowl in it, which would, I think, be the first time an animal mould (other than the simplistic ones like the small bird & chickens) has gone ‘the other way’ - so who knows?

Definitely beavers, two in that one Friends set, including a brick built dam, and a falling tree with gnaw marks on the trunk 🦫🦫

Dam Friends (intended pun)! City is pretty behind on animals. Freinds has Panda, Llama, and other aniamls that City hasn’t yet.

But….at the same time, I’m so glad that we are finally goin to get gorilla and its infant, red panda, dream raven, Stegosaurus,. I can’t remember if there is another new molded animal?

Yet another demonstration that Friends is better than City.

It feels like Friends sets make use of animals in a more diverse range of play scenarios than City does, and they can stretch the nature of the interactions a little more from reality, so they can be included in a lot more of the sets.

I feel that it’s long overdue for City to have an subthem that ses in North American or European forest…

2020 - Ocean

2021 - Arica

2022 - General Farms

2023  - Mix of Arctic and Ocean expeditions

2024 - Mix of African and Asian jungle expeditions

i know we used to have City’s Mountain Forest subtheme some years ago (and that we had Swam subtheme too).  Definitely overdue…. Therefore, that’s hy Isa id “Dam Friends” for having some forest-based sets… i wanna a regular beaver mold.

We had a $10 seal set, we had a $10 monkey set and now we're gonna get a $10 red panda set soon. I think it's time that wolves and/or beavers get the same treatment

Wolves and beavers go well together, both in the same set, or in CMF would be fine

I was actually waiting for @Lion King to give us some sage prediction if what animal-theme would come next. I think it’d have to be either forest or something southern hemisphere …

I always love to predict animal-focused subthemes for City!

Yeah I would assume that Forest is potential. South American and Australian wildlife would be great too.

Sinc we have koala in Seires 24, I would say that it’s time for us to hve Outback subtheme for sure too.

Our animal kingdoms just need wolves, foxe, kangaroos ,emus, foxes, etc.

I just collected the individual 12 minifigures from Series 26 Space. I really like robot dog and space penguin.

I would love to see some sci-fi creatures in in-house series in future! A cat with antanee and two tails, anyone? :)

Maybe a giant, rideable scorpion every now and again?

I don’t know if this has been discussed already, but there’s a leaked picture of the Harry Potter Aragog set, with a spider that appear to be a new colour - it looks like reddish brown instead of the nougat we’ve seen before

To be honest I'm still generally of the opinion that animals that are big enough to be brick-built often benefit from being brick-built—especially things like arthropods where segmented, hard-shelled bodies are reasonably easy to make using existing sorts of bricks and hinged parts without looking significantly less natural or organic.

In other animal news, one of the upcoming Ninjago sets seems to use the new baby Norbert mold from Harry Potter in unprinted gold as a statue—reminiscent of how the old baby Norbert mold was used similarly in the Fire Temple set.

Hmm, I like that idea of reusing an existing dragon as a statue. Thanks for sharing news.
