Anybody knows what's the deal with Technic and blue? Hmmm, looks like the moulding machines had a BLUEkakke party recently... Seeing that poor bear, I wouldn't be surprised about further reveals of dirty engineering at Lego's house. Quote
SNIPE Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 I just realized that the 42069 has no PF or am I mistaken? is it at least designed to be built with the PF addon pack? Quote
Jockos Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 IIRC there's no indication about adding PF to 42069, although the 42068 has the ability to have "power functionised" Quote

schraubedrin Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 @Jim, @Sariel, have you arranged it so sariel starts with 42070 and Jim with 42069? Quote
JGW3000 Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 (edited) I guess I won't be able to let my kids build 42070 - I'll never hear the end of it ("let's find all the LEGO animals and stick pins up their yadda yadda yadda") . The only option, I'll have to build it by myself . Sarial, I hope your hamsters didn't get a look. Edited July 13, 2017 by JGW3000 Quote

Ivan_M Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Any new parts @Sariel ? Or inventory somewhere? Thanks Quote

efferman Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 I agree, But please dont count the 40 years liftarm as new part, this is only an old part with a print on it. Quote

Well, yes it is the same part, just with a print, however it is generally/typically considered to be a different part. Hope I'm still on topic. Edited July 13, 2017 by SNIPE Quote
Sariel Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 (edited) Scanned for your pleasure. Yes, there are red differential gears which seem slightly altered from the DBG version - that the pin hole appears to be a bit extended, under 1 mm. It just doesn't end flush with the gear's side but extends a tiny bit. But it's such a tiny difference that I'm not sure if Bricklink will consider it a new piece or just a recolor. Builder1991 Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Thx a lot Sariel! Hmm not a fan of the red differentials... how about 42069? Any weird colors or new parts? Quote

SNIPE Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Just noticed most of the m motor is LBG, is this an instructions mistake or is it really that color? I'm amazed that there are two red diffs, that means that it is fully AWD rather than what I thought would be AWD for front and middle axles and 4wd for rear axle. Also happy there are 'pinhole with single axle' in red but none of the new 'pinhole with double axle' which some 1h 2017 sets have. Quote
Sariel Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 The LBG M motor is a printing mistake. Only one of the red diffs is used for the drivetrain, the other is used to transfer drive through the turntable. Haven't gotten to the 42069 yet. Quote

Even the webmonsters gave up keeping track of everything, I suppose. That's the image from the "4" server; this link for the "5" server just leads to an error. At great risk of posting more stuff that should be in another thread, it'd be nice to have some sort of insight as to exactly what changes warrant a new element and design ID when such iterations happen. I need to be put out of my misery. Quote
offroadcreations Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 Can't believe they had to simplify this to reddish brown.. Quote

Would you say that the parts in the set are worth the $370 CAD they cost? Or is $240 for 42069, or $330 for 42055 better? Quote

Oh boy, my favourite bit! A few observations: the half pins with stud are LBG and not blue! With all the red and yellow axles going on in the set this surprised me. Also, there are seventeen white 3L axle joiner with 'groove' for the transmission ring and only a single red grooveless one, which is the opposite way round to the Porsche. I was half expecting LBG grooveless to be the de facto after its inclusion in the new carousel. Quote
Ondra Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 42069 german price is 129 € but In czech republic is priced 4500 crowns, which is about 160€. Well Im tired of your prices for my country, and now this? You are pretty bad at math dear TLC. Price for this vehicle killed potentional two buyers me and my friend, and dont tell me to go to Germany and wasting a day for buying some plastic bricks... Quote
msk6003 Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 (edited) Only 4 of red #3 connector. And I was impressed this set aslo contain 6 of red i brick. Red 4L diff pin hole is same with old 4L DBG diff? Or same with new red 16t clutch gear? Edited July 14, 2017 by msk6003 Quote
