I made a simple camera dolly out of Technic to film a MOC. It has a turntable for compound panning shots. The point and shoot camera is held in place by Technic shock absorbers and rubber double axle flexible connectors. It can be MOD to hold a cell phone too.

I did a test run on carpet.

As you can see, I didn't contract a professional dolly grip to operate it. Hopefully, the union won't get too upset with me. :classic:

Not bad, but here are a few suggestions.

If you will use the dolly inside on hard surfaces only, I suggest you to replace the double rubber wheels with 6x6 dishes, or the hardest wheels you got, so that ot goes as smooth as possible.

Motorize it! Preferably with a large gear ratio, to keep it slow and smooth.

Other than that good work, simple but efficient.

Very, very cool! It appears to that the majority of the pieces are frames. How many frames did you use?

Can you take a couple of more photos to show more detail?

I am currently looking for ideas for a slider for my GoPro. I can't decide whether to make it motorized (RC) or pulled manually or maybe with a string on a motorized reel. Lots of decisions.

But your's is really cool. Thanks for posting this!

Very nice. Gotta love those technic frames, as they do come in handy. Now, a while back I saw a professional Stable-Camera-Support, and I wonder if such device can be replicated with lego.

After looking at your photos again, I noticed how the shock absorbers are used to secure the camera. I must say, that is very, very clever! Now I want even more to see some more detailed photos!

Thanks,

Andy D

PS. @ Tommy Stryovky: Your slider is very clever as well... It world be nice if you made a separate topic to better present and discuss your slider.
