Since the new Arocs relased with new suspension parts and a great idea for the rear axle I was thinking, why not also make small scale truck trial machines/races with 62,4mm wheels as a reference point.

I think this translates to roughly 1:13 scale.

Because this is a smaller scale the models should be easier to build with less parts and more structualy rigid

I think a max of 2 x XL, 3x L or 4x M motors should be enough at this scale...

What do you guys think?

Wanna debate, maybe even set up some guidelines and build something?

P.S. click here for some axle ideas at this scale

Did you try reprocessing the video? Go to youtube video editor and change length, or exposure or something so the video is processed again. In worse case scenario there is youtube support.

He knows these parts, because they are used in its scania chassis. And zblj, the scale 1:13 results in 81mm tires. The 62,4mm tires are in 15 width around 1,3m in original scale, so i think a scale between 15 and 16 studs width would fit good for trial trucks.

btw, video is fixed

Yeah, thought so... So what scale ratio are we talking about than?

Hi guys... I like your mid size Trucks... Interesting... This scale is very suitable for lego gears and motors... The overall weight is not big and from this reason the gears and motors got not problem with torque and weight... The minus is that you could build just simple vehicles because of missing space... But it's fun to play with them... :)

Max...

Maybe we could have some kind of unlimited class for trucks with modified/3-D printed parts, and third party tires or controllers. But, no matter the class, the only motors allowed would be original, unmodified Lego motors. That would be interesting, yes?

Yeah and here's my example:

P.S. Effe youtube sure had a way with your video, can you fix it?

This is the perfect chassis for most conditions - maybe use this rear 4 wheels with your new steered axles up front (at least there will be differentials at the front)

At our Lowlug meeting, we already had a trial in this scale:

I really dig the challenges that this scale gets you. You've got to build small and smart, but since the weight and size are relatively low, getting some good structural integrity and speed is a lot easier.

I even had 2x4 tiles printed for every participant:

no, they are 5L

While having lunch I figured why I got confused... I am hoping for 5L links for quite some time now. You guys were talking about the arms and not the links So I thought TLC had finally produced them, so I got excited... Got all excited for nothing...

Anyway I made an Arocs - scaled model in LDD, which should be working pretty well, but I need some parts in order to make a real version, and of those missing parts most (if not all) are 5L suspension arms... The model needs 24 of them!

The blame was mine, not yours...:blush:

Of those new 5L arms one never has enough... I use them so much, great parts!!! Still waiting for the 5L links though...

How about a render of this Arocs?
