She's come a long way.

You'll see more pictures shortly. It's been adjusted for the BDP. I had to straighten the mast since there are no mast or cloth pieces available, I'm pleased with how the brick built ones have turned out, but an angled mast isn't sturdy enough to hold them.

If your brick built mast is made from 3062s (round 1x1s) then you might want to try a trick I learned from the great Kurigan.  If you run a thin wooden dowel through the hole in the center, you gain a great deal of stability.  87087s can be placed on the dowel as well to add an attachment point for spars.

I hope that helps, and I'm looking forward to the finished product :-)

Aye, they look good! :pir-thumb: I have been thinking about that torso for Cotton fairly long. I suppose it is the best one out there (seeing as I have not spotted more accurate ones).

Following a lot of the blueprint that @_R_R_ layed out, I finished my Pearl reimagining.

Hope you guys kind of get some joy out of it, even if it is mostly a recolour.

This is really cool matey, I'm glad I inspired you! :pir-huzzah2:

Sadly my hard drive died on me without warning a few months ago and I lost everything I had on it, including all my MoCs and latest versions of my Black Pearl project.

To make matters worse I recently cleaned up my Imgur page thinking it wouldn't affect the pictures I had posted here but every picture I ever posted here is gone now!

It saddens me because some of those pictures were the only thing I had left of some MoCs. :pir-cry_sad:

However I still wanted to work on my Pearl so I rolled up my sleeves and basically restarted from scratch.

This is the new design I have so far, I wish I could compare it to the first version but basically I've changed a lot of details and the positioning of the canon ports. I also redesigned the stern. Still very much a WIP.

I was bored today, so I recolored and remade the pirate ship from set 21322 - Pirates of Barracuda Bay - into a Bluecoat ship with brick-built sails which I then named the Hawkeye.

The Hawkeye is commanded by Captain Ben Pierce, a man who has come to despise war despite being master of a warship. His crew is comprised of First Officer Johnathan McIntyre, an ex-mountain man / trapper from North America who just wandered onto the ship in a drunken stupor one day but has natural leadership skills, elderly quartermaster Sherm Potter, grouchy ships' surgeon Emerson Winchester, helmsmen O'Reilly (who has a keen, almost supernatural sense of danger and when things aren't right), along with quite a few other oddballs.

NOTE: If you are a fan of old TV shows from the 1970s / '80s, you might be able to spot the one where I got all these names from! (some names are slightly obfuscated, though)

If built in real life, I would need to take parts from my green pirate ship, which wouldn't be that difficult as it was dropped last May when I moved. Time will tell if this will ever be built, though.

Well, that's a real mashup of times and themes and places, isn't it? What is this, a hospital ship?

It's more like a floating lunatic asylum, to be honest. Glad you got the references @icm!

I like the coloring, but were there any ship of this period with a white hull? (Except the Armada flagship that Lego gave us)

Thanks @CaptainMoore I don't know about any real ships with white hulls (I'm way out of my depth here - I'm a train builder usually!) but as I already have those parts, it seemed like the cheapest option!

I'm no expert, but I think maybe French warships of the Napoleonic Wars had white hulls beneath the waterline?
