BrickJagger Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Ninjago is starting to run out of enemies (and good plots for that matter), so I'll give my best shot at what I will will happen in the years before the movie..... Spring 2016: "Dragon People" who live in a giant fortress and guard a mysterious portal to another planet, said to hold the key to stopping all evil. 11 sets, 6 Airjitsu. Summer 2016: The "other planet" is a water planet inhabited by primitive warriors. 8 sets, Airjitsu is cut. Spring 2017: Space Ninja! The Ninja explore the outside of the water planet in search of a way to get home. However, they run into a bunch of aliens. 14 sets. By now, the storyline is officially exhausted beyond belief, setting it up for a soft reboot in the Ninjago Movie. Note: All storyline predictions are from my head. They're pretty bad. I know. Quote
Robert8 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 (edited) I've never bought a Ninjago set and I never will because I like classic Ninjas like the 1999 wave or the CMF S1 Ninja, but I think Ninjago is a pretty decent theme. Maybe it's the most solid LEGO theme since Adventurers in terms of characters, storyline, etc. If it sells good, I see it sticking around for a while. The premise is that its diversities is as good as the TLM series. TLM CMF Series was terrible.... about half of the characters were pointless like the robots or the Pants Guy That's the worst CMF series to date. Edited June 2, 2015 by Robert8 Quote

Yeah, by the time when Ninjago was in plan, CMF ninja was a kinda weird being for lack of own features. If there is a Kunoichi one day, expect to see more historical references on her but not a new color of Skylor. TLM was fine to me. Some of the master builders were unrelated to the storyline and rather looks like ordinary CMFs, which doesn't really please me. For a Ninjago CMF series, maybe some movie-exclusive foes and some TV sidekicks that haven't been used before. Edited June 2, 2015 by Dorayaki Quote
Exetrius Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Fingers crossed for this CMF: 1 Postman 2 Misako 3 Doomsday Comics Guy 4 Ash 5 Neuro 6 Gravis 7 Kimono Nya 8 Skylor (exclusive version) 9 First Spinjitsu Master 10 Kai/Nya's father 11 Kai/Nya's mother 12 Kai (exclusive version) 13 Cole (exclusive version) 14 Zane (exclusive version) 15 Jay (exclusive version) 16 Lloyd (exclusive version) Quote
kevkipo Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Yes(?): - beasts/demons from the Underworld - evil samurai (somehow, because "just evil humans" is not Lego's style) - evil individuals (a bit like UA) - probably another dragon Beasts. Yes! I'm not strong on the Ninjago forum (Liked it back in 2011 it's still good but Marvel has the upperhand ) but i'd love to see beasts, i'm one of the few who loves molded creatures and i want to see a new Phoenix and Gryphon just really old school Asian style Quote
TPLSTER21 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 With the movie coming out in fall of 2017, we can assume at least 2 waves of sets before the movie. I can see them not releasing any sets for winter 2017 and then do a full court press when the movie comes out with CMF, video games, sets, etc. As for future enemies, so far we have had: - Skeletons (undead) - Snakes (creatures) - Stone Army (summoned supernatural creatures/constructs) - Nindroids (robots/sci fi) - Anacondrai/Cultists (snakes/corrupted humans) - Ghost Army (undead) Looking back, I think it is safe to say that the next 2 enemy waves will not be undead as they have already been used twice. Likewise, no snakes as they have been used twice. But given what seems to be a penchant for "re-visiting" past antagonists, I could see them going with: - Dragon People (creatures) - Demons/Dragon-People (summoned/supernatural/extra planar creatures) Or something a bit more off the board - Aliens - Evil Ninja/Samurai Honestly, there are only so many types of "bad guys" to go around! We should find out what's coming next in a couple of months! Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 The next wave could still be ghost ninjas, unless they end this story line in this wave of sets. Quote
Cagast Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I want a big, epic finale for 2016 season and so the story changes completely for the 2017 movie. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 I do. I want an Orginal Bionicle ending, where it just kinda leaves you guess. (Ninjago would then return 4 years later with the ninja being sensei) Quote
Exetrius Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 (edited) In the end, the ninja reach their ultimate full potential: they turn into entities of their respective elements. Lloyd uses all of his elemental powers to forge (part of) the entities into a new set of Golden Weapons, that will guide a new generation of ninja. As a result, Lloyd only has his Spinjitsu and 'golden power' (similar to Wu's) left. As the new Sensei, he hides them all over Ninjago. The ninja dissimilated into entities, which causes their former entity dragons to assimilate into new guardian dragons. The circle is round. The balance between good and evil; ancient and new; the physical world and the entity world remains... The perfect setup for a reboot movie! xD EDIT: This would also explain why the guardian dragons left: as the ninja grew stronger, they grew weaker, eventually only able to exist in their entity (summoned) form. legofanatic12 Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 11 Kai/Nya's mother The Descendant Elemental Master of Water could be Kai/Nya's mother since Lar does not appeared in the show, but his descendant master is still present. Quote

Exetrius Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Thank you ! I'm actually quite proud that I could come up with that (always had problems with story writing). Quote
Ardelon Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 (edited) I too am worried that ninjago is running out of villains. I could see aliens (dont understand the opposotion toward them here) as something that hasnt been done before, as well as an undersea threat. And an Agents /UA style supervillain and his/her henchmen. Or even animal-demons (excluding snakes...) - basically Ninjago vs Chima! Dont really see Dragon-men happening, though - seems too close to the Serpentine. Im a bit worried about the movie - Im not a fan of reboots (looking at you, Star Trek ) - I much prefer long-term epic-style stories with a long continuity, where each new addition adds to what came before, rather than changes it. I guess this is a bg part of why I never was much of a superhero fan - every piece of media is a reimagining instead of an addition or a "deepening" of a story/universe. I wouldnt appreciate this happening to Ninjago. Edited June 9, 2015 by Ardelon Quote
DraikNova Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Underwater stuff would be cool. Just think: we could get monstrous eel-dragons. Although I fear we'd end up getting Whirpool-itzu or something too. Quote
Exetrius Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 "Whirlpool-itzu" Remember what happened when bionicle got into the water? The Barakki were pretty cool, but the Toa just sucked imo. Ninja moving twice as slow and with diving gear, nah, no thank you! Quote
niccua Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Honestly in my personal opinion, I really enjoyed the 1990's ninja and samurai lego. The one I bought as a kid had only one ninja and 2 samurais I gave the samurais to my big brother while I kept the ninja. He and I would always fight for that black ninja while I wanted to take his only astronaut minifig. And since I'm in my 20s now i even bought the mint condition minifigure small box in the last wizard workd convention here in Chicago as my keepsake. I love those legos and I truly enjoy how lego found a way to bring it back with Ninjago. It really helps the newer generation of kids( like my nephews) enjoy ninjas. I just wish they'd stop making all those new costumes I wish they'd stick to the old costumes back then rather than all these over the top looks. I'm asian and even looking at those new minifigs make me go this is way too asian. Haha Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Won't happen. Characters don't die in Ninjago- they just poof! They did. The Overlord's Golden Armor was forged from the Golden Weapons found on the asteroid. I meant sense then, the gold won't have just poofed. I know the Overlords Armor is still out there so I know he in some form will return. Quote

Haha I personally like their fancy 'super-asian' costumes, but I understand what your're getting at: social-culturally and historically speaking this fancyness is totally incorrect. The LEGO Movie sets included quite some normal people, so maybe at some point (D2C, CMF series) we could get a few for Ninjago. Quote
Kamil Z Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 For me the first season of ninjago was pretty cool, I liked the episodes, loved the second season and episodes, third season was ok and I lost liking Ninjago when the forth season came around. Did not like all the futuristic stuff. Quote

Both have been far more traditional than the Rebooted arc, all things considered. Quote
Kamil Z Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Oh, I forgot about the tournament of the elements. Someone recommend it to me and it was pretty good. That's what got me back to Ninjago. Quote
Exetrius Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I hope Ninjago will never explore the futuristic genre again! Quote
