A couple of week's back I made an order with Bricklink with a very friendly lady from Italy and yesterday night she sent me my bricks which were all packaged so nicely (nicer than new Lego directly from Lego). And she included a picture of herself and she's beautiful. Part of me wants to say it's just coincidence, but part of me wants to fly oveseas and see if there's anything more. I know this might sound crazy, but she looks like my one in a million, plus she has Lego.

let me give you some advice, don't fall in love with appearances, fall in love with the person. If you really seriously think this is your "One" then you should probably contact her. Find out if you have anything other than Lego in common, like oh being single? good starting point

Are you sure the person is actually a lady and its her in that photo? Did you actually have a conversation with this person or was it merely a transaction? Sending random pictures sounds like the kind of thing I would do.

I feel like you need to find a new dating website to go on as Bricklink usually isn't the first place people go to for love. Well that's not entirely true as we all go to Bricklink for our love of Lego

I hate to burst your bubble and really, truly hope this works out for you but the cynic in me can't help but suspect that the woman you imagine to be your dream lover is in fact a grossly overweight, balding, middle-aged ex-con with swastika tattoos and vomit-inducing body odour who chuckles to himself each time he pops a picture of a pretty girl in with an order knowing it will drum up business.

This guy  Best bubble popper ever!

Wouldn't going out with one's bricklink seller be like going out with one's drug dealer? :classic:

Proceed with caution. Video chat first. Do your background checks and due deligence. The pic could also be marketing tool to get you to buy from her store.

Assuming she did the same with all her other customers as well, that tells alot about her , don;t you think so?

I agree with the background check as well. Ask her for another photo of her flanked by LEGO models/MOCs and drawers in the background to verify her existence as an AFOL.

Alternatively you can take a long look in the mirror, stop acting like a child and re-enter the real world.

If I could add a face palm emoticon on my phone I would.

God, I hope this thread is either a joke or you at least have some real friends who can hit you with something.

Just what are you suggesting?? There's been no talk of "when are you getting another order out to me, etc??" I think that she's just a really legitimately nice lady.

I don't usually follow my heart, but when I have amazing things have happened in my life.

I remember once being in a store and seeing a wrench in the bargin bin. It was a Black & Decker wrench and I was buying groceries, and I had no intention on buying a wrench, but it got to me. I thought, as a home owner - I should really have a wrench. So I bought the wrench and then after months of staying in the packaging I realized that my wrench had "special powers," when I finally broke into the plastic packaging to recycle it.

Video might not be safe for work:

Anyhow, she's got this girl next door look, and smile that makes me think like I've known her since childhood and she knows me type of thing. It's really hard to explain. Maybe it's nothing, I'm gonna sleep on this and maybe the butterflies in my stomach will go away.

Says the person on a LEGO forum with Star Wars avatars...

Often, and for so many, the only thing left in this modern world that we can truly call our own - is our hope; or lack thereof. And the only bubbles we actually have the authority to burst - are our own.

Let the dreamers dream. Its our last freedom to do so.

I say "Go for it." But don't run too fast, until you know exactly what is in front of you...

Seriously?

On an entire forum of people with a percentage of close to zero with profile pics of actual people I think we can safely assume that this hobby (and that's all it is) is a part of our lives that has differing levels of importance but for the most part is replaceable.

My avatar and presence on this forum represents the part of my life that I give to (one of) my hobbies... They pale into comparison with my wife, daughter, house and my business.

There is no bubble to burst... This forum isn't the last bastion of hope for the eternally lonely.

If the op wants to fly out to Italy be my guest... Anything short of the person being real and actually 'falling for' the op in return will be a huge waste of time, money and dignity... Hell... He should give it a go... Report back and regale us with tales of Hollywood romance and serendipity... I'll gladly buy them a wedding gift if my cynicism is proved fatally wrong... I think my money is safe though.

In fact... I think he should sell everything he owns, other than his Lego of course, to fly in business class and look as fresh as possible... What could possibly go wrong? What price would you put on true love anyway?

Certainly the most entertaining thread of the day! On the one hand, carpe diem. On the other hand, don't fall in love with adverts, they are adverts.
