Maybe it has been pointed out already, but after 15 years the red toggle joints finally reappear in a set: the 42235 Ferrari 488.
I remember when these were basically gold.

this ferrari 488.pista also has 2 new recolors, a #2 connector in dark blue, and a 3L axle with end pinhole in red

Since I mentioned it in the thread about Zerobrick's book, I think it also helps to mention it here. Below are all the common parts with a pin. Which one accepts a bar?

Has anyone else noticed the tan axles (4l with centre stop) shattering under load whereas other axles cariing the same  load are ok? I'm hoping its a combination of material and the stop concerntraighting the load so I can cut down some 5.5 when I get more. Always odd when a model uses a bunch of prices you normally use 1 or 2 of.

All 4 of those yes.  First 3 it goes all the way through, last one only 1 stud into it of course.

Unfortunately Lego is not consistent with their bar policy. Some parts accept bars, but the updated part doesn't any more. It's very annoying when one wants to make instructions.
For example this part has also a version that accepts a bar, and a version that doesn't

I think there are even cases where older official instructions put a bar in the pin, but more recent revisions of the pin do not accept the bar.
