Mephek Posted January 6, 2014 I have a $50 amazon card and I have every Hero Factory set to date already.. so.. I kinda want to get some lego sets. I like the shows for Ninjago and Chima, so I'll probably get something in those areas. Maybe even a star wars set. I don't know. Any suggestions? I really like the Garmatron set. Should I get the used one for $32 if I do get it? Or the new one for $5 more? Personally, I have no issue with used sets. I buy most of my sets on ebay anyways
Aanchir Posted January 6, 2014 If you're willing to wait, I'd recommend the Legend Beasts. There are five of those and each is presumably going to be about $10, so you should be able to get at least four, maybe all five if you can cover shipping/handling charges with some other means of payment. Since you're a Hero Factory fan I think system-based "articulated figures" would really suit your tastes. But they're not out yet in the US — they're probably coming out in March along with the new Hero Factory sets. That's maybe the best use of $50 I can think of within those themes. Garmatron is a somewhat nice design, but functionally it's rather boring. It's a big box with a prison, treads, and a single cannon. Zane's ice spider adds some play value but not a whole lot. 70502 Cole's Earth Driller is a set that I was massively underwhelmed by when I first saw it, but it's a fantastic set. It has the same "planetary drill" function as 8960 Thunder Driller, which remains amazing. That and Kai's Fire Mech would be a good pair to get together, since they're both fantastic designs and would get you two of last year's Ninja.
refriedbeans Posted January 7, 2014 The Chima Chi-ed Up constraction sets are really cool (if you don't have those). Eris' Eagle Intercepter is expensive right now on Amazon but it's a great set, Wakz Pack Tracker is fun. I personally don't have Laval's Royal Fighter but it looks really cool. As for Ninjago I also recommend Kai's Mech which I plan to buy soonish.

refriedbeans Posted January 7, 2014 So jealous! I bought Laval (he's okay his head is hard to pose) and Worriz (Definately get him he's really awesome) I plan to get Gorzan and Razar next.

Razar is an awesome figure. I got him because a friend makes videos with him and HF sets all the time and I thought he was cool as a set and character. Razar is basically a con artist/scammer interested in ripping off people with terrible deals. He even says "good deal friend" all the time. He's awesome
lord raphael Posted January 7, 2014 I myself would go for this set named 70013. I myself would go for this set named 70013 Equila's Ultra Striker.
DraikNova Posted January 7, 2014 I'd say that the best use for 10 of those dollars is the Kai Mech. The rest of it would be well spent on any combination of the Ninjago 2014 sets, but while I'm biased towards Ninjago, I have to say that the Ultra Striker is also a good buy. Freddy Bricker Posted January 7, 2014 Well first of all, there's a "which set should I buy" thread in the general discussion forum for these type of questions, and perhaps looking around should have gotten you there. As far as the sets I would recommend go, I recently took a huge interest into Ninjago, and I would suggest buying the Samurai Mech before it retires, and if you're wondering, yes it did stay around longer than other 2012 sets. But if Chima's where you're heading, perhaps Eris's eagle interceptor would be a good idea, then getting yourself the Skunk speedor set, which looks amazing. Or, if you're willing to go for it, I'd also recommend Gorzan's Gorilla striker. But please keep in mind that mods tend to close down such threads that have an appropriate thread elsewhere on the forum, I can see you're relatively new, but should you ever have the same question, I suggest going here for reference: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=82467
