Lego in geneva, Switzerland

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

Can anyone tell me where I can find a shop or a store selling Lego in Geneva? I've been to many toy shops and stores and in only one I found some Lego games & a couple of Cars sets, only because there was a theme row...

I went to visit the LHC back in October, and stayed in Geneva for two nights. I seem to recall that one of the big department stores in the middle of town had a decent Lego section (they even had some large Atlantis statues in the window). Can't remember what it was called, or where it was, though; vaguely near the youth hostel?! It was jolly expensive, though, as most things are in Geneva!

What is LHC?

At least don't you remember by the way whether it is near Lac Leman or not? I really can't find any Toy shop that would sell Lego... None of the supermarkets does.

Sounds strange.

The Large Hadron Collider (CERN) - the atom smasher thingy!

Now, we stayed in the Geneva Youth Hostel, and the department store was somewhere between there and the Natural History Museum (which is on the other side of the river). If I recall correctly, it was on the same road as the Apple Store and MacDonalds - which means it was somewhere along Rue du Marche/Rue de la Croix d'Or/Rue de Rive.

Aha, found it! Franz Carl Weber (Rue de la Croix-d'Or 12 1204 Geneva) You can see some City sets in the window on Google street view!

I can't recall exactly what the stock was like, but it was definitely there!

Hope this helps, and that it's not too expensive

I was in Geneva a few months ago and two shops had plenty of lego:

1) Weber in the main shopping street (as mentionned), on the top floor)

2) MANOR, big department stores (Rue Cornavin 6)

I even found a the train 7898 -( cargo train) there and bought it.

they have a huge lego display on one side and on the other side....Playmobil.

they were knowledgeable about new sets coming and eveything.

Large Migros superstores will have Lego; but not all range. Coop City will also have Lego. But dont expect cheap prices.

Most independent toysellers dont get to sell much Lego as the prices of the supermarkets undercut them too much... but some find it still works (especially for more hard to find sets).

If you live in CH - use toppreise.ch to search for the model and get it cheaper online. Usual suspects are

gameworld.ch

bol.ch

And currently, Swiss Post Shop which offers low prices + 10% reduction with the right code. Most of these places are pretty good to send the items within a week or two.

Hello,

Thank you all for help.

Today I finally managed to go out after work and went to MANOR

The point is that I see this building quite often times but I couldn't imagine. I found LEGO on the 4th floor (and it was hard). The range is quite ok, not very large. Anyway, I managed to grab 3 Pharaoh Quests sets because this theme is not sold in Russia.

As for the main Shopping street and the store there, I've been there, I was there almost 2 weeks ago and found only a handful of sets - some game sets + a couple of Cars sets. That was all.

Anyway, thank you all so much.

Manor is not the cheapest place for Lego... if you are only visiting occasionally then it might be worth ordering some from online to a hotel or friends house to pick up next time...

Been to many COOPs and didn't see any sets there.

Swiss Post Shop - where is it?

Yeah, thanks but now the problem is how will I manage to take it all with me back to Russia.. :) I have to.

Thanks for the links, I've examined the first one but it is all in German and I don't understand a word in German. Will examine the rest later.
