D2C Contest: Attack on the Nile
otterlilly replied to Yatkuu's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Awesome set and great box art! -
Yeah, I agree with some of you guys about the minifigs-they're delightful! My collection is mostly towns, buildings, the classic bricks. I guess that's one of the reasons why I tend to easily overlook themes like Alien Conquest, Atlantis, etc. And quite frankly, City minifigs are getting boring as my collection is growing bigger. I can see the value of them-even the human ones have more character; for example, I really like the overalls that the guy is wearing. Also love that little alien dude! Many thanks to Final Exit for the great review with the detailed pictures!!

Love the colour scheme, and the interior is fabulous!! It reminds me of a local candy shop, Rogers. Fantastic work!

Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 4 Building Contest
otterlilly replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Here is my first entry for a Eurobricks contest. I'm a huge hockey fan so I couldn't resist giving the ice hockey minifig a home! If interested, see additional angle on Flickr. -
Thanks a lot to Pandora for the awesome review - the detailed pictures of the two alternate models are particularly helpful as they are harder to find. I usually buy houses in the Creator line and quite frankly, a few of the house models are similar and getting boring to me. It's really nice to see how Creator incorporates different type of buildings like this set. I have to get either this lighthouse or the hillside house with my limited budget, and I think I'll go with this one.

REVIEW: Creator 5770 Lighthouse Island
otterlilly replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks The Brickster for the great review! Actually I love your fishing boat as a background there - more pictures of the boat by any chance?? -
Oh..... actually I was anticipating how this set would turn out, and it's rather disappointing, to be perfectly honest. I'm not even sure whether this set is being released in Canada, and the Architecture series are generally a bit more pricy than other lines. My guess for the price is $19.99 CAD; but if it's more than that, I don't think it's worth buying it.

Thanks for the great pictures-looking forward to seeing more! This set is probably my favourite one out of all PotC line. Love the minifigs, especially the cannibals; new pieces-some have appeared before but new to me-such as the leaves with 2 different colours, which I don't have, the bones (have these pieces appeared in other sets before?), and the bottom piece of the cage; and the back panel of Jack Sparrow's chair in that the picture is not a sticker! Yes, the price is steep. The licensed sets are low piece count per price. The problem is, though, that people keep buying them, myself included.

When I first saw the picture of clear packages with the pieces in them, "OMG, there are 2 globes??!!" Oh well, of course not-it was too naive of me! lol Thanks to TheBrickmaster for the pictures and review!

Many thanks to TheBrickmaster for the wonderful review and tons of useful information and pictures! I can't agree more about the stickers (as I was really hoping those windows were not the stickers attached..). Nevertheless, it's a great set overall with interesting new pieces and the nice colour scheme. As most folks say, this model is excellent with other ship sets like 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty, 10210 Imperial Flagship, or any other legendary old ones in the 80s and 90s. To be honest, I wasn't going to get this set, but after this review, this ship is tempting more than ever! (I can feel my pocket is getting lighter... )

Wow, what an awesome build! I've thought of using those base pieces from the collectable minifigure series for other purposes- it's a great idea using them on the wheels. You must've had a lot of minifigs! Thanks for sharing!

What a brilliant idea-awesome!! Very creative in the way of integrating two different themes. The details are great and inspirational. Thanks for sharing!
