That's a render, not a photo. Here's the actual shield from the Brickset review. You can see the grey all around the print: -

I tried selecting Out of Stock in Europe and it looks to be 20c. It doesn't appear when I filter for just items in the Rivendell set though, strangely. -

I think it's a smaller deer, a Rudolph equivalent, probably without a red nose to avoid any licensing issues.

Rebrickable has a breakdown of the different sub-sets in a lot of the sets under the Alt Builds tab. The bus has 206 parts, according to the listing there: https://rebrickable.com/sets/60335-1-s2/passenger-bus/?inventory=1#parts -
It looks like a car jack and doing a search, this seems to be it: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=4629c01#T=P

I have both sets and would defintely recommend the house as the better set for a child to play with. With the different rooms, the garage, car and loads of different accessories, there is more variety there. The Kwik E Mart is an excellent set to build too but for play, the items on the shelves and the fridges are fairly similar and not much play potential with them really. Although there is probably more variety in parts for the Kwik-E-Mart for future builds compared to the house. So all in all, I'd recommend the house, especially since the Kwik-E-Mart will be available longer so you might still be able to get that next year.
