  1. I love Tyrannosaurus Rex! That's what drew me to this 3in1 Creator set, my first ever. I picked up two more sets to make it fun. A little background about me, this is my first attempt at custom building of almost any sorts. I'm more of a set builder and then buy another set to compliment it. As such I completed this landscape with a very limited selection of loose bricks to choose from and even had to buy the base plate. I may eventually buy some bricks specifically to improve the landscape and grow and practice my technique. I still have a lot to learn but hope you like!
  2. So, here's a MOC that's actually a few years old that I'd neglected to post because I wasn't super satisfied with the photos nor the build itself, but after stumbling across it again browsing through folders I think it has at least some merit, so I now present to you... The Abomirex (or A-rex if you prefer)! A mechanical monster created by one of the most diabolical minds in all the known world as a weapon of terror and conquest. Sporting massive razor-sharp claws, built-in weaponry, and tremendous mechanical strength, only the most skilled and nimble of heroes can hope to stop it. Initially conceptualized as far more overtly birdlike, with wings utilizing the clear orange sail pieces from that one Ninjago set, but I couldn't come up with a decent enough design and thus went in a more saurian direction because dinosaurs are neat. It can't see through walls, however, which could provide our hero with the upper hand. (also sort of inspired by the movie "9" and by extension the short film it was based on) Snout splits open to reveal a flamethrower. Hope your shield spell is up to snuff, or you'll be snuffed out. Get it? Fire jokes. One of its least immediately obvious weapons is its bladed claw tail, catching its opponents by surprise! But if caught, perhaps a lucky swing could bring our hero close enough to a weak point... The conspicuous power source on its back totally wasn't that weak point, why do you ask? At ease, or perhaps scanning the horizon. In profile. Torso construction detail. Full disclosure, I don't remember it being particularly sturdy, and in addition to looking somewhat jumbled overall, it's part of why I'd neglected to share it earlier. But the aesthetic still sort of works for a steampunk/dieselpunk/frankenstein mad sciencey sort of look. (also tangent time: I hate steampunk and think it's super overplayed, or at least the variation of it that everyone falls back on. what part of "british aristocracy in fancy dress with gears glued to it" is "punk", exactly?) Obligatory gag scene. Full gallery here!
  3. This time I built Grimlock transformer robot. My 2nd Tyrannosaurus robot. :)
  4. A very short Jurassic Park sketch in order to celebrate the release of the new film.
  5. Hey folks! Let me start on how this happened: I wanted to join TC7, with a pretty viable idea in my head. But then, my older son found out, and the project got derailed. He likes mobile cranes very much, especially the tracked version. So, here's my entry, I hope you like it. Sorry for the low-quality photos, I had no other choice. Jurrasic Revenge Crane mode: It's a fully functional tracked crane, with a rather long boom that's raised pneumatically, working doors and the common blue chairs :) Back view, can you already guess what's it transforming into? Demonstration of the boom mechanisms, it can extend more than this but I had little time to take pics. Let's start transforming: it all starts in the cab, watch those chairs closely. They turn to the sides, touching the doors. Then I slowly push out 4 bush-pins, so the cab can slide to the back. The cab goes all the way back, connects with the boom base, and the hidden dino head goes out the "window". The arms are detracted from under the cab, revealing the 2nd mode: the Tyrannosaurus Rex battle machine! T-Rex can now stand up on its own 2 feet, that were hidden under the crane body. He can now stomp anyone who stays in his way! But wait, an Enforcer jumps from the bushes, aiming with his flare gun. Luckily, T-Rex extended his leg cannons, just in time. A direct hit! The enforcer lies unconscious on the ground... T-rex grabs him by his feet and tosses him up in the air! Then catches him on his way down with his ferocious jaws. There's no escape, puny Enforcer! Well, that's the story so far, I will add some lore later on, as well as the video, which needs serious editing. if you want to see higher resolution images, check out the Jurassic Revenge album on my Flickr account.
  6. I was talking about the upcoming Jurassic World LEGO-Sets with a friend of mine and said, that I hope they will also realease some Sets from the older movies (like they did with Indiana Jones). She answered that she would love to see a "toilet-scene"-Set where the "bloodsucking lawyer" gets eaten by the T-Rex... Since that probably won't happen I decided to give it a shot myself More pictures of my creations can be found in the LEGO folder of my homepage!
