(note: the first picture is a recycled picture only serving story purpose) (recycled picture) Somewhere in Breshaun, everday business was going on. An older guy with an oddly brown beard and poor clothes went to the MAESTRO Cider shop at the quays. "Greatings monsieur N'estpassivieux, how are you doing today?" "Ah, excellent eh, oui yes, but too bad it will be my last applecider I'll drink in my life" "How it comes? You are our most loyal client!" "Ah oui yes, I should not say it, but as I am older, I don't have so much longer to live. And see, I got a cousin in Mardier, and the higher class in Mardier spent their last days in a Spa. Something about a white volcano It makes them feel younger. But only Marderians are supposed to know." "Really too bad, we'll miss you... Anyway, enjoy the applecider and your holiday there!" At the same time monsieur N'estpassivieux left, a messenger left and took a quick Skiff to Elysabethtown. -------- A few days later, around miday, The Prince of Stedor arrived at an island with a white volcano. It wasn't that hard to find once you knew what to search for... (note, this seriously is not LEGO... It is to illustrate the island and the inspiration for the following pic which is LEGO and is my story build.) ---------- "A Mardierian flag, this should be the right spot", Jan Zwartbaard whispered to his Lieutenant once they set foot on the land. They found a perfect spot to hide the Prince of Stedor and the troops stationed on it. "I don't like the symbol of Zeus as flagpole" the Lieutenant replied. Strange indeed... But the explanation came quickly as the exploring party arrived at the so hyped Fountain of Youth. "Welcome to the Fountain of Youth Spa, Please register here, leave your money and weapons there, change your clothes wherever you want and start relaxing!" A beauitull woman welcomed the explorers. Jan Zwartbaard was stunned for a moment. Such a beauty!! But then the Lieutenant woke him up from daydreaming and pointed to some red cloaked figures on top of a small hill. The lady saw them looking and wondering, so she said: "That's Lord Father Toleau. He discovered this island and made this wonderfull Spa Resort out of it." "What's the secret of this island?" "Well, the rich and famous from Mardier are enjoying the end of their life here. As we got everything in this Spa and they may do everything here, added with the healing atmosphere of the White Volcano, they feel young again. Ofcourse they don't live forever, but at least, they die feeling young..." Meanwhile Lord Father Toleau arrived at the scene as well, accompanied with two red cloaked guards. "Ah Eslandolan friends... As good tradepartner of Mardier, you are welcome to take a rest here, but we fear you are too young to stay here..." "Weren't you an Oleon priest?" "Oh yes, but after I discovered the island, Mardier offered me the most power and wealth, so now this a Mardierian Colony." Jan Zwartbaard knew enough.... Lord Father Toleau didn't know there was war between Eslandola and Mardier... He didn't know YET... He looked to his Lieutenant and nodded... What a beautifull addition to the MAESTRO empire... To be continued... ------------------------------------- Wow, such a difficult built as it is completely SNOT... But I am very happy with the result! C&C welcome!!

Previously: Recruiting at Marco's This Is Not the Wealthy Housing of Rassilon Falling Out with Foxx Cantu's Fort in Rassilon The Viper After their humiliating capture by the Mardians, the crew of The Viper was imprisoned while Mardier decided how best to use the ship. Sinbad found himself sharing a cell with Li Fang. “My father has failed one too many times!” Li exclaimed. “He’s always been too soft. That’s why we took privateering license when we could have been making our own way!” Sinbad knew Li had a point. But after everything Cho had done for him in bring him on as a crew member, he wasn’t sure he was ready to betray the captain just yet. “The men are on my side” continued Li. “We’ve only been waiting for the right opportunity. When the time comes, can I count on you?” Before Sinbad had a chance to answer, a large commotion began further into the jail. Sinbad watched as the guard ran towards the noise, but a few minutes later the only thing to return was a small bomb rolling across the floor. It blew the door off its hinges and Sinbad and Li rushed out. “Wait!” shouted Cho. “Don’t leave me!” Sinbad looked towards the captain and then at Li. He knew if he was going to succeed, he would need to make his own way. Hanging onto Cho’s coattails wouldn’t get him far. He turned away from the Cho’s pleas and left with Li and the rest of the crew as they stormed the harbor and took back The Viper.

"Alright, you see, fellow Eslandolans, we have spied on the condition of our men taken prisoner by L'Olious' henchmen. They are currently being held in a cell off the coast, and if the court goes badly, we may have to take drastic measures..." A couple of punks watching the shores: An overly courageous Eslandolan Knight being executed: A couple of Eslandolan soldiers and the Ship captain being held: Figless: And the inside of the cell: Alright! My Eslandola Vs. Mardier Court Case build is finally up! This is my last build before i take a long break from LEGOs, of which more will be posted in the Eslandola page.

The reporter from the Kings Port Advertiser was fuzzing about, calling out to the sketch artist to "catch my best features…" and "…make sure to make L'Olius looking right heroic for the frontpage" and to the scribe "…and don't you misquote me, or I will have at your hide!" They were setting up outside the high court of Terraversa waiting for the highly profiled case of L'Olius versus Eslandola, a case, which, apart from including the most beloved naval hero of Terraversa, was highly likely to have serious diplomatic consequences. And with Terraversa struggling for independence in the Mardierian civil war, the outcome could be critical to the future of the colony. A large crowd was assembling, and there was a general din as the tension was rising with the anticipation. A few Eslandians had shown up too, but most of them withdrew swiftly as the moral pressure of collective public opinion against them, or were removed by brute physical force, should they venture to express their allegiance. The hum of the crowd was considerable and normal conversation was strained at best, impossible at the worst. Nonetheless, the moment the doors opened and a guarded L'Olius stepped out, a hush fell over the crowd. L'Olius raised his hand in greeting, a triumphant smile spreading upon his face, and the hush temporarily gave way to a series of loud cheers. As the cheers died down, L'Olius gave a short speech in his booming quarterdeck voice, much to the joy of the crowd. "L'Olius has just left the courts, and appears in great spirits" the reporter dictated. "Out here, he is getting the hero's reception he deserves, regardless of the mistreatment those greedy, selfish Eslandians has brought upon him." The scribe scribbled on, and the sketch artist was busy immortalising the moment that might change the fate of Terraversa for ever. "The Eslandians have long held our trade in an iron grip, and their unlawful monopolies have threatened our economy, our very survival, and most importantly, our freedom!" The reporter paused for a moment, weighing his words and letting the scribe catch up. "L'Olius has taking it upon himself to put things right, to bring justice and reason to our world. With a perfectly legal Letter of Marque in hand, he has fought for our liberty, and the survival of our merchants. And now the Eslandians have brought him to court! Perfectly harassing him, our great hero! And on the pretence of some trifle about legalities - a trifle surely put to right by our esteemed courts!" The scribe enjoyed this… He knew it would be on the front page of the Kings Port Advertiser tomorrow, and that it would be sold out. The picture forming on his colleague's canvas would be the perfect eye-catcher, as would any headline containing L'Olius' name these days. As the reporter continued his narrative, he resumed his writing. What a sensation this would be…

Ahoy mateys, this is Part I of our storyline for the ongoing build off between ESL and MAR. We - that is Jacob Nion, Bregir, and I - sided with l'Olius and justice! To reveal to you what those sneaky, backstabbing Eslandolans are capable of doing with their money-grabbing fingers if they see their Doubloons at stake. A Hero Harassed - Part I - Pleadings “You did what?” The judge gasped in surprise. And it looked like the hint of a grin on his face. L'Olius continued. Yes, he had seized the Queen of Terreli – and he had done it... with pineapples! L'Olius' squadron had been following the Eslandolan convoy for several days, and couldn't believe that there was only one warship to escort all these traders. And this warship seemed to be commanded by the worst captain anyone could ever have heard of. As a result, the Queen of Terreli performed so very poorly at sea, clearly this could only be a trap. But l'Olius was determined to follow his orders, so his squadron kept pursuing. And when they were about to intercept, l'Olius knew how he could seize the Queen without much violence: If using grapeshot was one of the most bloody ways to attack and seize a ship, he would use a broadside of the most unbloody thing – pinappleshot. And it worked! The captain and crew of the Queen were so utterly surprised, that before they could even think of what in Poseidon's name they had just witnessed, l'Olius was already standing on the bridge, and he placed the still confused captain under arrest. This story would definitely go down in history. What a day. But all that wasn't really what this trial was all about. Neither were the reasons for l'Olius orders to be discussed, nor the political background to be analyzed. This trial was about one thing only: Did he seize the Queen of Terreli legally, did he possess a valid letter of marque. And the answer to this question could only be 'Yes.' Yes, he did possess a valid letter of marque. It was granted to l'Olius personally by the Governor of Terraversa himself. And denying Terraversa's Governor the right to issue legal documents – not even Eslandola could go that far, if they didn't intend to affront all Mardians, and risk a war, that they always claimed not to want! So for one last time l'Olius looked at the pitiable Eslandolan representative, and waving his letter of marque before her eyes with pleasure he said: “Like it or not – the Queen of Terreli is now legally mine.” I hope you enjoyed this first part. Here is the rest: Part II - Discovery, Part III - Prospects. C&C welcome. For l'Olius and justice!

[ESL v. MAR] The Demon That Haunts L'Ollius
Umbra-Manis posted a topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Eslandola vs. Mardier For Eslandola! Captain L'Ollius was widely known to be a fearless man in Mardier. However, there was one fear he had kept hidden. And now, since he had captured those Eslandolan ships during a time of Peace, it had been haunting him. His one fear: Pineapples. He had been nearly poisoned by one when he was young, and this was worse than any he had ever seen. It was a demon Pineapple. He screamed and leapt out his bed, sword in hand. Nothing. "Are ye alright Captain?" "Yes, it was....... nothing." My entry for Eslandola! Unfortunately I didn't have time to render the last two images. C&C welcome! -
Last month, the dastardly privateering villain L'Olius forced the Queen of Terreli (ESL crown) to surrender and captured the Fenix. These acts of aggression have proved very concerning to the Eslandian crown, and it has determined that it will not permit its shipping to be threatened in this manner with impunity! L'Olius is a privateer for Mardier, based at Terraversa. He holds a letter of marque from the governor of the island, who is at odds with the current Mardier King during the Civil War. That being the case, the Mardier courts were willing to consider the situation, in the hopes of avoiding a rupture with Eslandola. So we're calling for volunteers for a build off to decide the case. Three volunteers for each side (Eslandola and Mardier). To volunteer, apply in this topic and state which side you'd like to help. Each volunteer will have to build one MOC. 20x20 limit on MOC size, with a minimal overhang. Deadline is April 25th. Any BoBS member can volunteer for either side, but Eslandians cannot volunteer for Mardier. Each team must incorporate the following four themes at least once in their total of three builds: the court, the prisoners, L'Olius, and pineapples. Once the teams are determined, a PM thread will be set up for each team. Builds must be posted in their own thread and linked to below. All builds will earn 10 DBs (but will not count as free builds). If Mardier wins, Mardier volunteers will receive 75 DBs (that's 40% of the profit at stake divided between the three participants). Building may commence as soon as one team (either one) has reached three volunteers. After the 25th, a voting thread will be set up. All EB members will be invited to determine (based on the MOCs) which side deserves to win this case. If Eslandola wins, both ships will be restored to their original owners. If Mardier wins, both ships will remain with L'Olius. More information on L'Olius: L'Olius is a maritime hero, who at one point was one of the Royal Family's favorite captains. However, he has sided with Terraversa and the rebels, as he is actually a descendant of one of the Terraversa tribes. He very loosely walks the privateer line with little justification other than his own fervent support on the Island. So... who's up for a challenge? Throw down the gauntlet and let's get bricking!
