Hello Everyone, Check this Air engine Out. We can all agree that Pneumatics wont do this. This Air engine is a recreation of the USS Monitor Steam Engine which is an early American War Ship that was built by Swedish American John Ericsson. This engine is pretty interesting with how it was designed to function. Its very elaborate engine design with opposed cylinder piston that functions a lever arm which is connected to a center crank shaft and it also is name the vibrating lever engine. It was such a neat build I made more then one videos to. I made another video where you see inside and can watch the cylinders move up and down.

Hi there folks, thanks for taking a look @ my creation. When I started driving (real) cars I loved to lower them, coilovers, airride, I tried everything! Now that I drive a real life Subaru Forester (1998) and take it off road occasionally, I am starting to like off roading and their techniques a lot! So I wanted to create a (small as possible) Lego off road chassis with these elements built in: -Front wheel steering system -Rigid axle with free suspension movement front and rear. Capable of off roading and some rock crawling. -4x4 connection with center diff. Front and rear axle locked. -Turning engine concept. After trying a lot of concepts in LDD, I figured its quite hard to put these elements into a very small working chassis. I tried to fit a Boxer engine (Subaru) in there, but it just wouldnt fit. I came up with a chassis wich I wanted to order @ Lego 'pick a brick', but figured that 'pick a brick' does not have enough bricks available I checked some more shops, but lost hope to order the separate bricks. So I wanted to show you guys my concept wich is not complete. Also LDD has some issues with the hinge tool. Its a very nice piece of software, don't get me wrong What do you guys think? Hello everyone. I am rather new to Eurobricks, and I'm happy to be on this site now posting and commenting on lego creations, etc. Anyway, I've always liked Classic Space. I've been ordering a lot of space stuff from Ebay and Bricklink lately in hopes of assembling a moon base in the future. So while I'm waiting for those, with the space stuff, and the blue parts I currently have, I decided to make a variety of neo-classic space stuff for the moon base too. I may release a few more ships in the coming days, weeks, etc. Anyway, here it is. SpaceSpeeder1 by Jim Kirk, on Flickr So frontal view. The Classic Space minifigs patrol the planet surface. Hello! It's been awhile since I posted anything in this forum, but I wanted to show some of the progress I've made on a layout I've been working on by showing off the engine I'm going to use on it, namely an S1 Switcher. The engine itself still needs a bit of work on it, namely the height, but it does look nice working the harbour I've built. Building the nose of the engine proved somewhat troublesome, but I'm happy with the way it turned out. The back needs a bit of work done to it, but I'm relatively happy with the cab. The image above shows how the cab roof comes off in order to place figures inside. I've also built a transfer caboose to go alongside this engine that I hope to have posted soon. Feedback would be appreciated!

Hello for a project I'm lookibg for concepts to solve some problems. One particular problem I have is building a V8. Fir the project I want to build a Cosworth DFV engine. It has a bank angle of 90°. The standard lego parts have an angle of 120° and when I want to use pure lego I'm out off ideas how to solve this. The none lego approach is doing the 'efferman' and construct your parts fir 3d printing but I'd like to solve this with pure lego. Thanks fir the help.

Hi all! I've just submitted a set idea to Lego ideas, but reached a problem. Here's an image of the set idea below; as of writing this the idea is still awaiting approval so is not on the Lego Ideas website: While i've put a lot into making the set look nice and giving it playability, there is one problem that I still feel like i should tackle to make this a solid idea for a set. Most/all train sets produced by Lego are supplied with the ability to have Power Functions. As this is a small saddle tank engine, there is no room for a motor. The passenger carriage does have space that could accommodate a power functions battery and receiver, but that would mean that the engine and coach would have to be permanently attached. Lego won't make alternative molds for ideas sets, so suggesting an alternative motor design would not be possible. Does anyone have any ideas? would be a great help! Many thanks, Isaac.

This little engine was inspired by the little shunting engine from LEGO's own City set, 4204 'The Mine' which it is pictured with below. This little engine is just 5 studs wide, and can run on rails at just 4-studs wide. The LEGO historians amongst you may recognise the character on which it's name is based. The engine is based on the iconic miniature engine 'Talyllyn', from the Talyllyn Railway, the worlds first preserved railway in Wales, United Kingdom. The aim was to not to create an exact replica of the engine, but rather it was a self discipline exercise to produce a set that would fit in nicely along side the rest of the LEGO City range. As well as to represent a steam engine at this small scale. Heres an image of it next the magnificent Emerald Night to appreciate the scale of the model. The entire 3-piece train is a tad longer than just the Emerald Night's Engine section! Had all the pieces been available in their respective colours I would have made a physical version of the model, but alas they don't, so instead this model was created using Bricksmith and rendered in POV-Ray (Thanks to C3POwen's awesome tutorial). I've decided to upload it to LEGO Cuusoo, so if you like please SUPPORT it there. It would be great to have an actual LEGO Train set that was more affordable to those with a smaller pocket, as the smaller sets in the Trains range always seem to be random rolling stock, railway furniture (lights, station accessories, etc) or track packs, not much with the 'swoosh/chuff' factor. There are more pictures as well as a second engine and some other rolling stock in the works which I'll post up here, and in its Flickr Album when they arrive..

Inspired by Locomotive Annie's recent 'Steam Electric Locomotive' topic and Electrosteam's 'Bag of Ideas' topic, I threw together this little MOD. Car #168 is the end result of a secret program started by the CIA in 1964. The previous 167 cars all met a grisly demise on the test track, incurring the loss of numerous personnel. The work was so hazardous that hardened criminals who were offered reduced sentences were about the only people willing to work on it. Haircut (pictured here with his guard) was one of the few to survive. The engine was designed to air-lift itself behind enemy lines where it could wreck havoc in it's own unique way. Most of the interior of the car contained various weapons including large calibre machine guns and missle launchers under the retractable roof. There was also room to store the rotors when not in use as, obviously, they would cause a bit of a problem with bridge and tunnel clearances. This prototype - the first to successfully complete trials - was launched from an aircraft carrier when it suddenly developed engine problems and presently it rests at the bottom of the Gulf of Tonkin. The crew was able to paracute to safety however the general in charge of the program was secretly shot for embezzling funds and for being so daft as to think this was a viable project in the first place! Due to lack of funds the program was discontinued soon afterwards. Oh, what's this? The Atlantis team has stumbled upon the wreck! What are they doing in S.E. Asia? Aren't they supposed to be in the Atlantic or Mediterranean somewhere and what are the Fish-men doing at the wreck? There are rumors of rolling stock that were being developed as well but no photographs have ever surfaced. There are several researchers digging through the files, who knows what they might find...? Ok, hope you got a laugh out of it. I don't have much in the way of space, time or bricks...did the best I could. The 'Atlantis' shot probably would've been more successful from a higher angle, live and learn. Joe

Combine Mecabricks with UE4 to become an ultimate real-time Lego rendering tool. Just know that Unreal Engine 4 is free for everyone form March 2015, So trying it today to import some obj bricks model. It would be nice if DasMatze or someone can make a tool to import Lego model from LXF or LDR with auto material / bevel shader. Then we get a zero wait real time rendering tool! Even make some fan-made Lego game!! But the model lose all smooth groups. Can be fixed by run scrubs's blender script before export. Chrome can not export complete .obj of 10179 (.stl is ok but UE4 not support), so I delete some parts to get it work. Why only 10179 get material exported? Second time tried to import some more Mecabricks model in UE4. In Mecabricks workshop export Collada format with « Group by Geometry » options and « LEGO Logo » ticked then open it in Blender. Save as FBX failed, but save as OBJ work fine. Left one without Scrubs's blender script: Show decals / show Lego logo / no smooth + edge_split / wash-out colors. Right one with Scrubs's blender script: No decals / show Lego logo / show smooth + edge_split / better colors. It should be possible to play with photo-real Lego render in realtime using UE4! By assign well made materials. Even use UE4 as ultimate Lego design / building tool directly. So a couple of people have asked for a more detailed look at some of my MOCs, and who am I to say no? Each gallery will come with the LDD file. Although the LDD designs are always my own work (unless otherwise stated), a lot of inspiration will have been taken from other people's work. I will endeavour to credit anyone who's work has inspired me. To make things easier, I'll provide a link to all my MOCs from this first post: Locomotives - Coaches - 6 Wide Pullman Wagons - More MOCs to come! 6 Wide Pullman The basic style for this build was very much inspired by youtube user technoandrew's Pullmans. LDD File: Click me! LDD notes: Roof is held on by friction alone. Turn tables fit into the smaller arched formed windows to make the toilet windows. The 2x4 black tiles (of which there should be 4, not 2) fit into the larger arch formed windows to represent the door windows (and hid the ugly stuff behind them). The frames under the coach are formed using some chopped 3mm hose.
