Fascinated by the reports in Father Tholeau's journal, Cato Calrelli immediately wanted to set sail to the mentioned island. But realizing he was out out supplies, he instead changed course back to Terreli to return better prepared as soon as possible. Unfortunately for him and his career, Calrelli was a bit too eager getting home quickly. He ignored the bad weather warnings from the Kings Port Advertiser. Never a good thing to do! He didn't wait for the storm front to pass, and took the direct route - were the hurricane caught his ship. Only with luck Calrelli and his crew were washed up on the shores of Terraversa. Alive - but he would never again be given the chance to captain another expedition to find out if Father Tholeau's stories were true.

A favourite for all the children and for the grown-ups who managed to stay young inside: Paolo, the phenomenal puppet player of Pontelli! Paolo's tales of heroes, knights and villains are loved throughout the city... ... and his hat is usually well filled with coins. Paolo currently stages the story of a long forgotten civil war, including a mummy king coming from the desert. Wild! (And Alberto da Pontelli is a fan too) It was high time to add some "Art and Culture" to Pontelli! C&C Welcome

Dramatis Personae: Currently, at Rassilon... It appears that Lucy has finally set up her martial arts studio. It certainly looks imposing. I especially like the strength projected by the dragon head. If I wanted to learn how to fight, this would certainly be the place to do it. MARKETING!!! Anyways, shall we go inside and take a look? He says he's looking for work, but I know he's spending all his time hanging out at the local tavern with the guys being a good for nothing! Mmm-hmm. So your husband is a loser? Yes! My mother was so right about him! I should have listened to her! And on top of that he snores! So not only is he a loser, but he prevents you from sleeping, as well. Let me jot this down. IN THE DOGHOUSE!!! What's all this?! What are you doing?! You're interrupting a private session! I thought this was supposed to be a martial arts studio! You stupid professor! I told you that this was a marital arts studio! What do you even think I study? You're supposed to be my advisor! Given that you're Asian, I figured it was some sort of martial arts. First, we've gone over this. There is no Asia in this world. Second, that's racist. Third, no serious accredited and internationally recognized institution would give out a doctorate in the martial arts! What world are you living in? Then what do you study? Psychology, you stupid professor! This is my office where I conduct couples counseling! This is fantastic! I'm glad that you're offering the Sea Rats access to psychological guidance on this island. SENSEI-TIONAL!!! @$#%%&*^*@#%%&*#$@#$#^%#$#!!! Comments and criticisms are all welcome!

Ahoy mateys, A ship - who would have guessed?! Presenting: The 'Scimitar' The Scimitar is a rather unusual sight in the waters of New Terra. She is what most people these days would call a Xebec – a ship type clearly not common to the shipwrights of the Madrice Peninsula. And she wasn't built in Oleon. In fact, her true origins lie to the far south. She was bought by the Royal Shipyards from merchantmen who traded in Granoleon. Merchantmen from the Mokolei Empire, where expertly crafted Xebecs are used vastly as warships as well as traders. The Royal Shipyards were impressed by the Scimitar's cargo capacity, but astonished by her protective capacities. Arming a fast trade ship that heavily is something not very common outside the Rogian Sea, where pirates are a constant menace to merchant ships. But with the ever increasing trade volume here, more pirates are likely to try finding opportunities to prey on unprotected traders in the Eastern Brick Seas, also. So what better opportunity to learn new concepts and adapt to the new times than to buy a veteran ship, that excelled under such conditions. The Xebec design is now being studied extensively by the Royal Shipyards' master shipwrights, and the Scimitar has been given Oleander colors. Now she is ready to sail under her new flag. And - as always - IFS shaming about: This one was a tough one to build. Building the angled poop deck, and attaching it to the rest of the ship - without gravity and the magic capabilities of the opposable thumb - was, well... difficult. So was designing the latin yardarms (or what they are called) Credits for the 'eye' design go to Dunkleosteus. Some numbers: She's 92 studs long at the waterline, length overall is 135, and she is 23 studs wide. She's also my first ship to feature completely snoted decks. For now her intended class is a 5F, but I armed her a bit heavier than the average 5F, so that might change with the new ship list. I hope you like her, C&C welcome! Vive le Roi!

Hi guys, Yes, you've read that cor(rington)rectly This is my contribution to Bregir's King's Harbour contract offer. I thought, well, since Oleanders are generous folks, let's continue the generosity To Captain Jno. Cooke, most honorable Military Governor of King's Harbour on the island of Cocovia, Corrington. In the spirit of conciliation between Corrington and Oleon, the Royal Shipyards are humbled to present to you plans for a harbour station and a patrol boat, matching your contract's description. These plans match the high standards of all the Royal Shipyards work, and we sincerely hope they meet your requirements with satisfaction. Enclosed you will find the construction plans, along with some of our artist's impressions of the station. Quilbignon, April 21st 616AE Signed, The Executive Director of the Royal Shipyards Vive le Roi!

Atticus Cuervo and his wife Jazmyn have finally finished construction of their new home on the island of Torrach Bonn. Atticus felt that the island was the perfect location to set up his new venture. Along with his supportive wife and quite a few others, a venture was begun, and a small camp was established at the mouth of the Great Serpentine River in the Southwest corner of the island. The first actual building to be constructed was the Cuervo Villa. Atticus and his dog Zatara have just left to go on a hunt for dinner, as we see Jazmyn waving to her husband. This is a small residence, licensed in the unnamed town, on the island of Torrach Bonn. OOC: I took my pics today at about 1630, which was the right idea, but unfortunately, the sun was already starting to get low in the sky so...I get shadows. Live and learn right? Also need to get a different background. The sheet is the right idea, but it's going to wrinkle no matter what so I need to find an alternative.

Ahoy mateys, it's been a busy month so far, so building time was rare. Plus, somehow I haven't had the heart to build this month's MCRA results - too painful the memory of two ships lost with all hands. But, BoBS must go on! April 616, Hurricane Stepho was devastating. Oleon's Merchant Navy lost four ships to this monstrosity! When asked about the fate of La Recouvrance by the crew's relatives, the captain of the Commerce de Breshaun, which had miraculously survived the suicidal cruise, lowered his head expressing his condolences, and with a broken voice he spoke of what he had seen... the last moments of La Recouvrance. about: This is a beefed up version of the sea I used last month to tell a more fortunate story. Although not much of it is visible. Well, and Stepho was threatening my PC's resources quite menacingly Not quite happy with the background, but Bluerender unfortunatelly doesn't allow transparency, that could have been filled more precisely. And this is very much forced perspective, so I could only take one pic. Well, next MCRA story will hopefully be more cheerful again Thanks for watching, C&C welcome! Vive le Roi!

The last anyone else had heard of Jack Yharnam, her ship had got lost in the hurricane. Debris was found washed up on a nearby spit of land - quite by chance, actually, the crew were hunting for meat - but no trace of the captain herself. Everyone thought she had gone down with the ship... ...until she sailed into port one day in that monstrosity, the Mirthless Jest. Bigger than the Crow, more guns too. Gods only know where she found another crew for the thing. But there it was, bold as brass. I might just sneak in an MCRA results MOC before the end of the month but just in case I don't I figured I would post this up. I'll have to wait to license this, I don't have the DB for any kind of Class 3 ship and since this is bigger than the Crow I don't think I'll get away with calling this a Class 2. I'm still learning with BlueRender so I may add some shots of the details using the LDD's photo mode, but that will have to happen later.

Your Royal Highnesses, honorable Ladies and Gentlefolks, common people of the lands. The Royal Court and the High Council of Oleon welcome you in the great city of Granoleon for the Royal Coronation Festivities of our new and rightful Monarch, King Philip I. Be our guests over the course of the next weeks, enjoy your stay in the palaces, and celebrate with us! After this exciting time of dazzling festivities and glittering celebrations here in Granoleon, His Majesty and Queen Beatrice, together with their royal entourage will be touring Oleon’s colonies! Furthermore royal emissaries will be sent out to the royal courts of Halos and many cities of New Terra offering gifts and blessings on behalf of His Majesty to humbly show gratitude for the many expressions of condolences after the passing of our beloved King Stéphan II. In the spirit of peace and conciliation it is the expressed wish of His Majesty to be generous to all that welcome his emissaries, and of course himself, the Queen and his royal entourage in the upcoming weeks. Description: This faction-challenge will require you to show how you receive King Philip I and Queen Beatrice, with or without their entourage, or only their entourage, in any of Oleon’s colonies. This can be on the festively decorated streets of Breshaun, it can show the royal couple attending a mass in a temple, it can be you waving from your house as the royal entourage passes by. Be creative - and friendly! As a royal gift, half of all license costs for properties, that fit the spirit of the contest, and are built and licensed in Oleon’s colonies during the contest is running, will be refunded. This offer isn’t limited to Oleanders, but all members of every faction can profit from it. If instead you choose to build in foreign lands, you can also do this and participate here. Just show how the royal emissaries are received in your city. You won’t be able to profit from half price licenses, but - like all participants - you are still eligible to win these prizes: From all entries five overall winners will be chosen, the 1st place will be rewarded 40DB, 2nd place: 30DB, and 3rd to 5th place: 20DB. Plus, there is a second category for those of you who cherish the arts: Entries here follow the same rules, but will be judged on general building creativity and most unusual part usage. The first three entries will receive 25DB each. Tl;dr: The Royal Court tours Oleon’s colonies, and emissaries of His Majesty are sent out to pay tribute to the Royal Courts of Halos, and whomever you like to depict. Show us how you receive them in joy and amity! Prizes: Category A: 1st place: 40DB, 2nd place: 30DB, 3rd to 5th place: 20DB. Category B: Top three ‘artsy’ entries get 25DB each. If you build in Oleon’s colonies: Half of all costs for licensable properties, that fit the spirit of this contest, are refunded after the contest. Rules: Entries must be submitted by May 15th, anywhere in the world They must be presented in their own thread, and linked here, you may use [OL-CF-A] and [OL-CF-B] or similar markers for your entries’ threads Entries are not eligible as FB The category of your entry must be stated One entry cannot count for both categories Only one prize per builder per category Licensable entries must follow the general property rules, especially concerning the number of properties allowed per month: one entry in two settlements or three entries in one settlement Properties have to be licensed while the contest is running to be refunded No build size restrictions If you build digitally, use only valid color-part-combinations, and rendering your images will surely please the judges Good luck and have fun! Vive le Roi!

Aaaand it's me again, As threatened promised, here's the MOC I was referring to when I posted this scene. A River Runs Through It Captain's Log, April 29th, 616AE: In the early afternoon we finished setting up camp at the beach, and immediately afterwards I had two armed scouting parties sent out to make a perimeter check. Also, the royal geologist from Granoleon - who was assigned to my company by direct order of the Intendant Général des Finances - insisted to have his mission started right away. So I had him escorted by a 2nd platoon, and they went off into the jungle to take mineral samples from various locations. Let's see what they find. Not that I could be bothered. I'd much rather see a fresh water source located soon... and if somebody could catch some fish, that'd make my day! about: Again, not really much to tell, pretty basic stuff. It's a dull prospecting scene, but to add some fun, I tried myself on a little creek with some tiny (not so rapid) rapids and some fishy action. Still not too familiar with rockwork, but I hope it doesn't look too boring. C&C welcome! Vive le Roi!

Ahoy again, Just leaving this little scene here, as it's needed for my next MOC. Plus, it will serve as a starting point for next month's expedition into the interior of 'The Trap'. Claiming New Lands Captain's Log, stardate April 29th, 616AE: I've sent two of my men up the beach to gather some perimeter info. Meanwhile, the rest of the company has just finished transferring our equipment from the HRS Granoleon to the beaches. She's about to set sail again, back to Breshaun, and leave us here. We'll hopefully see her again in a month from now. Until then, we'll be on our own out here. But our orders are clear: We are to officially take possession of this island, which is commonly referred to as 'The Trap', and set up a base camp in shore sight. Once this is completed and secured, I will take my company of Royal Marines inland to find out what is and what isn't true about the rumors that some pirate has made this island his home. We are prepared to meet resistance, and I'm confident my men will prevail! For Oleon! about: Not much to say about this. The ship isn't new, and the ocean is a once more enlarged version of the one I've used before, and it only had LDD crash three times The rest isn't much larger than the picture is wide. Again, this is only meant as a start for something to be hopefully continued next month. I hope, you can enjoy it a bit, anyway Vive le Roi!

El Toro Bravo : A class 2A Topsail cutter After being repaired the former Oleon ship known as "La Vaillante" became "El Toro Bravo" and was given to the Eslandian Colonel Ignacio Severus to command. And she began her duty by being sent along the shores of Berelli in order to track down the pirates. I bettered the "Vaillante" I made for Challenge II and I will license her as a Class 2A vessel. I changed the colours, I change the Masts and put more in the middle the main mast. I made the rigging in order to be able to lower the sails. I think my story is well explaining how and why she became an eslandian warship... So I can license her, I never licensed her when she was Oleander. I think I can do that. If not, don't hesitate to tell me. Thank you and enjoy !

This is the result of the battle Corrington lead towards the forest against the filthy human sacrificiers who rose against King Azuma and the western settlers from Corrington and Eslandola. You can see the excellent begining of this story here. I have to thank SkaForHire to let me conclude on the fate of the Eslandolan trader known as Damion Denela. A "Gift" from Corrington : While the Doctor and his companions were preparing their expedition, Felipe de la Manzana charged Basil and el Colonel Severus to organise the security of Elysabethtown. They caught some dangerous pirates near the port and managed to put them rapidly in a "cosy" cell... When a letter arrived to Basil anouncing the arrival of Lt Tanner with the Eslandolan trader Corries caught at an horrible human sacrifice. Impossible such a tader could be from MAESTRO ! Probably an independant merchant who thought he would make more money being out of morale... After a few days, Lt Sully Tanner arrived with the prisoner solidly chained up. "Right in time ! Thought Basil. We have some pirates who are bored of our new prison..." Basil showed the way to the prison to the Lt Tanner. 'Hang on "Shrimp" encouraged the former pirate captain. You are not going to die !" - Shh. Someone ! The pirates looked at the opening door. "Let me unchained the prisoner and put some handcuffs, it will be better, isn't it ? Said Colonel Severus to Lt Tanner. - Yes of course you're right. Answered the Corleander officer. "I would like to thank MAESTRO and your leaders to have kept an open mind. Of course Corrington is not accusing the Eslandian Company to deal with those filthy barbarians !" Conclude Lt Sully Tanner shaking Basil's hand. - Thank you to trust us. I hope this incident will help our countries to be better allies in the future. Perhaps we will help you to lead some military revenge against those dangerous men !" Answered Basil. And they through the poor merchant at the mercy of the pirates prisoners into the cell... "HELP ! They will kill me !" yelled Damion Denela. The guard did not answer... I hope you'll like this (rude) scene. It is inspired from a book I recently read : Le Déchronologue, a French mix between Sci-fi and Piracy. A good read ! and an horrible prison scene !

[Esl - FB3 Apr] : A shipyard and a payment
Tezclatipoca posted a topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A Shipyard and a payment : While the Doctor is preparing his expedition, Felipe de la Manzana received some news from his Ténotclaxcan friend Pinya. She taught Felipe the Ténotclaxcans managed to catch an Oleon ship when they repeled them at sea... The ship was not in good status but was still seaworthy and with some repairs could be a good warship. The ship name was "La Vaillante" So Pinya gave the ship in order to pay Felipe the service he is offering to the tribe by sending them the doctor. Felipe was surprised and managed to build rapidly a shipyard for Elysabethtown to make the repairs on "La Vaillante". Felipe visited the new shipyard at work just when the men, helped by some natives, began to work. So much work to do ! The mast had to be rebuilt; the sails were totally lost, and that awful yellow paint has to go ! thought Felipe when he saw the vessel remnants. Some men were not so found at work than others and prefered to enjoy good apples... The new paint had to be green ! According to Felipe : a bright green ! Once the masts rebuilt and the new rigging and sails are ready, Felipe returned with Pinya admire the work. Once again, it seemed that a man (the same ??) prefered to play with a monkey instead of working... I hope you will like this shipyard. C&C's are always welcome. The ship will be seen in a dedicated topic when ready (soon !) -
The reporter from the Kings Port Advertiser was fuzzing about, calling out to the sketch artist to "catch my best features…" and "…make sure to make L'Olius looking right heroic for the frontpage" and to the scribe "…and don't you misquote me, or I will have at your hide!" They were setting up outside the high court of Terraversa waiting for the highly profiled case of L'Olius versus Eslandola, a case, which, apart from including the most beloved naval hero of Terraversa, was highly likely to have serious diplomatic consequences. And with Terraversa struggling for independence in the Mardierian civil war, the outcome could be critical to the future of the colony. A large crowd was assembling, and there was a general din as the tension was rising with the anticipation. A few Eslandians had shown up too, but most of them withdrew swiftly as the moral pressure of collective public opinion against them, or were removed by brute physical force, should they venture to express their allegiance. The hum of the crowd was considerable and normal conversation was strained at best, impossible at the worst. Nonetheless, the moment the doors opened and a guarded L'Olius stepped out, a hush fell over the crowd. L'Olius raised his hand in greeting, a triumphant smile spreading upon his face, and the hush temporarily gave way to a series of loud cheers. As the cheers died down, L'Olius gave a short speech in his booming quarterdeck voice, much to the joy of the crowd. "L'Olius has just left the courts, and appears in great spirits" the reporter dictated. "Out here, he is getting the hero's reception he deserves, regardless of the mistreatment those greedy, selfish Eslandians has brought upon him." The scribe scribbled on, and the sketch artist was busy immortalising the moment that might change the fate of Terraversa for ever. "The Eslandians have long held our trade in an iron grip, and their unlawful monopolies have threatened our economy, our very survival, and most importantly, our freedom!" The reporter paused for a moment, weighing his words and letting the scribe catch up. "L'Olius has taking it upon himself to put things right, to bring justice and reason to our world. With a perfectly legal Letter of Marque in hand, he has fought for our liberty, and the survival of our merchants. And now the Eslandians have brought him to court! Perfectly harassing him, our great hero! And on the pretence of some trifle about legalities - a trifle surely put to right by our esteemed courts!" The scribe enjoyed this… He knew it would be on the front page of the Kings Port Advertiser tomorrow, and that it would be sold out. The picture forming on his colleague's canvas would be the perfect eye-catcher, as would any headline containing L'Olius' name these days. As the reporter continued his narrative, he resumed his writing. What a sensation this would be…

Ahoy mateys, this is Part I of our storyline for the ongoing build off between ESL and MAR. We - that is Jacob Nion, Bregir, and I - sided with l'Olius and justice! To reveal to you what those sneaky, backstabbing Eslandolans are capable of doing with their money-grabbing fingers if they see their Doubloons at stake. A Hero Harassed - Part I - Pleadings “You did what?” The judge gasped in surprise. And it looked like the hint of a grin on his face. L'Olius continued. Yes, he had seized the Queen of Terreli – and he had done it... with pineapples! L'Olius' squadron had been following the Eslandolan convoy for several days, and couldn't believe that there was only one warship to escort all these traders. And this warship seemed to be commanded by the worst captain anyone could ever have heard of. As a result, the Queen of Terreli performed so very poorly at sea, clearly this could only be a trap. But l'Olius was determined to follow his orders, so his squadron kept pursuing. And when they were about to intercept, l'Olius knew how he could seize the Queen without much violence: If using grapeshot was one of the most bloody ways to attack and seize a ship, he would use a broadside of the most unbloody thing – pinappleshot. And it worked! The captain and crew of the Queen were so utterly surprised, that before they could even think of what in Poseidon's name they had just witnessed, l'Olius was already standing on the bridge, and he placed the still confused captain under arrest. This story would definitely go down in history. What a day. But all that wasn't really what this trial was all about. Neither were the reasons for l'Olius orders to be discussed, nor the political background to be analyzed. This trial was about one thing only: Did he seize the Queen of Terreli legally, did he possess a valid letter of marque. And the answer to this question could only be 'Yes.' Yes, he did possess a valid letter of marque. It was granted to l'Olius personally by the Governor of Terraversa himself. And denying Terraversa's Governor the right to issue legal documents – not even Eslandola could go that far, if they didn't intend to affront all Mardians, and risk a war, that they always claimed not to want! So for one last time l'Olius looked at the pitiable Eslandolan representative, and waving his letter of marque before her eyes with pleasure he said: “Like it or not – the Queen of Terreli is now legally mine.” I hope you enjoyed this first part. Here is the rest: Part II - Discovery, Part III - Prospects. C&C welcome. For l'Olius and justice!

Freebuild #3 April 616 In the previous episode, Captain Brickbeard with his remaining crew were casted adrift to be sharkbait after Eslandola's Blessed Angel seized their ship, the Great Scott. They drifted for days and nights until they landed on an island. There they were stranded until Susieh found them. Letter from Eslandola by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Captain Brickbeard doesn't get his day in kangaroo court as the incident was settled out of court.

So I don't know what buttons I pressed but I can't get a good set of pictures of this using BlueRender, so he's the one good render. and some screenshots from the LDD that for some reason have no background. That was a surprise when I went to resize the image. The Night's Gold's sinister colours are a frequent site around Bastion and Haven. No one is quite sure how her Captain, Montgomery DuLac, manages to earn enough money to keep her afloat. It may relate to his good humour, easy going nature, ability to work with anyone and willingness to take any paying job. He even, occasionally, resorts to piracy - though he tends away from violence towards the prey's crew. After all, no point in needlessly raising a bounty on his head. Captain DuLac himself, making sure his ship is in good shape. He is not above hiring a few "less civilised sorts" as marines. Though some of them do not do much the rest of the time. I'm using my free license for the Night's Gold, classing her as a Class 2 Well Rounded.

Grayther Drave pays many people to bring him exotic goods for his emporium in Bastion, but the Spiders may be his favourites. A team of expert treasure hunters, the Spiders take their name from the unusual little boat the sail around in; the Wight Spider. Some people claim the boat is not white enough for it's name. Drave tells them they misunderstand it. The Spiders - Talia, Gascoigne and Klaus - treat their vessel better than they treat anyone else, except, perhaps, Grayther Drave. The Wight Spider is a Class 1 Well Rounded vessel.

Here is the continuation of the story we started with Tomsche. The previous episodes are : Visiting a friend The house of knowledge Setting out to Elysabethtown Meeting the Doctor and his companions : The Doctor Gellibrand and his two companions Donna and Clara took land on Elysabethtown and tryed to find Felipe's new house. Seeing a guard near a small apparently brand new house, the Doctor asked him : - Tell me my dear, is it the new residence of el senor Felipe de la Manzana ? The guard stood right and answered : - Yes sir ! I am guarding the house. We heard by our Corries neighbours about some troubles from dissident natives so I have to protect el senor de la Manzana now. He is awaiting you inside. You can pass. - Well, well ! Thank you, young lad. Felipe de la Manzana was at his desk preparing his next trade run while Basil was at the kitchen preparing some refreshments for the incomers. Felipe rushed to the door when he heard the conversation outside. - Ah ! welcome to my new residence in Elysabethtown my dear Doctor... erh.. Doctor who ? Felipe missed the name of the leader of the scientist group... - Doctor Gellibrand, senor, and here are my two young companions : miss Donna and miss Clara. They will help us in our endeavor. - Nice to meet you ! - I have a letter from Lord Smaugton for you. He insured us that we have full rights to study the Ténotclaxcans in Berelli but we will need Eslandian agreement too, so if you were pleased to sign it. - Of course I will do that. Said Felipe while taking the letter. Basil passed through the Patio (courtyard) of the property to look at those corleanders scientists. "What strange idea to hire women on such a team" he thought. One of them seemed to be reading in his mind and sent him her best angry face. Basil thought he should stay at good distance from that girl. "She doesn't seem to be so friendly..." he mutered. To be continued... Here are some overviews of the house : The roofs are removeable in order to have access to the inside. A view from behind with the roof : And without the roof : The house is licensed as a small residence in Elysabethtown. Hope you like it, C&C are welcome !

The Royal Society of Natural Philosophy The New World Branch of the Royal Society of Natural Philosophy is now open for members. With it’s headquarters in Arlinsport, Tiberia, the society promotes advancement of the human understanding of the world in which we live. Its focus is the study of nature, mainly in all things living, and its fellows are some of the finest zoologists, botanists, biologists, ornithologists, medicoes, paleonthologists, and entomologists, as well as a multitude of other natural philosophers. The New World branch naturally has an emphasis on the new and unique discoveries of newly discovered lands. Leadership The New World Branch of the Society will be headed by an Executive Committee. These can only be filled by members of the society, and must also be citizens of Corrington. This will ensure that the Society is not used against the interests of Corrington, although as a general rule, the society shall not involve itself in politics. The Executive Committee has a right of veto in all matters of the Society, including, but not limited to, membership decisions and the use of the Society's funds. As a general rule, however, decisions will be taken by democratic vote amongst all fellows of the Society. Current Executive committee Chairman: Don Isaac Montoya (Bregir) Secretary: Dirk Allcock (Ayrlego) Treasurer: Sir James W. Chase (BrickOn) Signing the Charter by Ayrlego, on Flickr The executive committee may award other titles to members of the society at their discretion. A list of members and titles can be found in the second post. Eligible Gentleman/women. In this new era of reason, logic and discovery, scientific thought should transcend all borders and regimes. Although holding a Royal charter from the Crown of Corrington, the Royal Society of Natural Philosophers is open to members from all factions, including free thinking Sea Rats and open minded Oleans (although any Olean members may risk excommunication or accusations of heresy from their countrymen!). Membership Invitation Membership to the society can only be gained through invitation by an existing member. Any member of the society may propose a candidate to the executive committee. A proposal should be in the form of an in character letter to the Society detailing why the candidate should be considered for membership. Candidates should have an expressed interest in some area of natural philosophy in their characters story. For example, they may have presented some builds showing their character engaging in scientific studies. The Society will approve membership based on whether or not they feel the candidate’s character is established as a Natural Philosopher. If a candidate does not initially meet approval from the committee they may be asked to show a greater interest in scientific discovery (produce some more scientific themed builds/story arcs). The Society will then review their candidacy. This process is not meant to promote elitism, rather it is an attempt to approximate an in-game type of peer review. It will always be in the Society's best interest to recruit more members, although members must have a genuine interest in promoting scientific discovery. If approved by the Society, the recommending member will then be required to send an invitation of membership to the candidate. The invitation can be accompanied by a MOC, but again should take the form of an in character letter inviting the member to make a presentation of their scientific work to the society. Initial Presentation When a candidate receives their letter of invitation, their final step before becoming a full member of the society will be to make a small vignette (8x8 or up) showing their character presenting his/her work to their fellow members/peers. There is no location requirement for this build, for example a presentation may take place in the Society's Headquarter in Arlinsport, or in another settlement where a meeting is taking place, or even in the field. On the Great Tiberian Sea Otter by Bregir, on Flickr Membership Fee A small one-off membership fee will be levied on new members. The proceeds of their presentation free-build should be transferred to the Society. If this free-build is one of the member's first two for the month, the fee would be the 10DB they earn for the build. If it is a third or above freebuild, it would be the total DBs made as per the new rules. EGS Benefits Their may be some EGS benefits for Society members. These are being discussed with BoBS leadership and will be introduced in due course Ranking System Coming Soon! We are looking at introducing an academic type ranking system. Details will be announced later!

This is pretty much my first real attempt at landscaping, so please bear that in mind. The Shrines of Haven As the town's name suggests, Haven was founded with the idea of providing a sanctuary to those Sea Rats who found themselves following Roland Blaze and the exploratory fleet. Blaze asked for little but the willingness to help defend each other. Consequently, quite an eclectic assortment of faiths wound up being practised in Haven. Until suitable separate structures could be built a small communal shrine building was put up housing four of the largest faiths in the settlement. The north facing side houses a shrine to Oleon's triumvirate. Facing east sits a dedication and ritual sun dial for the worshippers of Helia. The southern side is home to idols representing the Mother of Creation and Serpent of Destruction. The western facing saw the installation of a shrine to the Truachesh neh Triuri. However, some faiths are practised away from the light of day. The discovery of a cave and pool beneath the knoll represented a significant opportunity and one of the last Blackwater Witches set up a shrine to their sinister patron.
