  1. Freddie the fisherman launches his small boat every morning before the sun rises. Today he has been particularly lucky, although the shark was a big of a struggle! His stall can be found on one of the beaches adjoining the harbour and is popular with the citizens of Mooreton Bay as he only sells the highest quality fresh fish. A quick build to try out some different roofing techniques and a revised palm tree design (for me). Licensed as a small commerce, Mooreton Bay, Alicentia. As usual C & C welcome!
  2. In the bars and taverns of Bastion all sorts of tales are told, especially once enough grog starts to flow. One such story is that of Captain Leon Dracken and the Witch Yolanda... ...a story that begins half a century ago, at the midst of the Forty-Nine Year War, when Admiral Leon Dracken of Oleon was charged with escorting a Priest of Hades to Oleon's early colonies to 'ensure their spiritual purity and discipline'. Not an unusual task, Dracken thought. And, as he would tell himself later, refusal could have meant death... ...but the company of soldiers the priest brought with him was unusual. While Admiral Dracken remained on the ship the priest and soldiers ventured inland to wipe out the followers of the Lord of Deep Waters. The results would be recorded by history as the Blackwater Massacre. The survivors were brought onboard Dracken's ship as prisoners to be taken back to Oleon. Dracken had no doubt any fate other than public execution awaited the prisoners... ...but a storm brought Dracken's voyage to a sudden stop as his ship was battered, broken and began to sink... ...the priest ordered the prisoners remain locked up for their heresies. Dracken disagreed, violently, and as the priest bled out on the deck Dracken tried to save those below... Oleon records that both Dracken and the priest went down with the ship ensuring as many of the crew made it to longboats as possible, and their story ends there. Elsewhere, the story sometimes takes a stranger turn... ...some tell that Leon Dracken and a Blackwater witch named Yolanda were the last to a boat, and that the storm separated them from the other survivors. That Dracken and Yolanda spent days aboard the longboat before the already scant supplies ran out. Dracken was the first to pass out from hunger and dehydration... ...only to awake on an unknown island where Yolanda lead him to a cavern. And within the cave lay a fountain of strangely glowing water... "For the lives you have saved," Yolanda said, "a reward. And for the lives you could not, the burden of your guilt. A life renewed." ...Yolanda bade Dracken drink... ...The effects were immediate, and quite painful... ...And so Dracken left that mysterious isle to begin his career as a pirate. Yolanda remained with him for a time, but eventually the two were parted. Of course, that is just a tall tale, the sort sailors like to tell, isn't it? To the east the real Leon Dracken and one of his crew, the witch Iosefka, have been following Father Tholeau's journal out beyond the known seas. "Hmm", Captain Dracken says to himself, "no one here." "You could hardly be expecting someone," Iosefka says, "from the wrecks on the beach it seems no soul has ventured in some time." "Expecting? No," Dracken says softly, "but hope is the curse of humanity." "I must ask," Iosefka adds, "have you been here before?" Dracken pauses to examine the fountain, filled with brackish green water. "Perhaps," He answers, quietly, "perhaps I have."
  3. "...On the 15th night of the journey, the priest of Zeus, Father Tholeau, snuck inside the captain’s boat and lowered her to the sea. Once detached from the fleet he set sail in the small skiff... Here we follow Father Tholeau, sneaking out off the cabin's window and into the small boat. It was night time as you can see on a picture. Or was it noon after lunch as seen in another picture? Which version do you prefer? Whatever the case, Eslandolan marines shouldn't mingle with the crew, because alcohol distracts you. After quite some days and nights, Father Tholeau reputedly reached a small rock protruding from the vast sea. On it, a gorgeous mermaid was standing, staring at the sea. "Hello Mylaidy", said Father Tholeau "Hello to you too dear mariner. I am Iris, the fairer of all mermaids in this vast sea", replied the gorgeous mermaid. - "And I am Father Tholeau. Nice to meet you. It seems i am lost on my way home, after discovering the Fountain of Youth. Can you show me the way to LeBellan?" - "Of course my dear. You must travel northeast and you shall reach it in seven days and seven nights. But beware, for i am not alone in this vast sea. I have many sisters, all of them wicked to the bone. They feed off stray mariners like yourself. Dont let their beauty fool you. You will be devoured at an instance." - "Thank you again Mylaidy. I wont fall for them for i am a man of Faith and am devoid of human lust. I am off. Have a great day!" ... But lust gets the better of men as Father Tholeau couldn't resist the mermaids' temptation. Not even the water he drank from the Fountain of Youth couldn't prevent him from being dragged into the abyss of the sea by the mermaids and so he was drowned, ending his life but not his legacy which continued to live on through his diary... Thank you for watching. C&C welcome!
  4. One of the first businesses to open in any new settlement will usually be a public house and Mooreton Bay is no different. The Corunna Tavern offers newly arrived settlers modest accommodation while at the same time serving refreshing drinks and humble food. In this scene you can see several citizens of Mooreton Bay enjoying refreshments. In the street two troopers of the newly arrived Queen's Own Hussar Regiment ride past and a soldier escorts some convicts to a work party. A detachment of troopers from the Queen's Own Hussar's has been dispatched to Mooreton Bay to provide extra security and mobility. The Hussars are indeed an impressive sight in a dashing black and red coat with a brilliant scarlet peliesse. ------------------------------------- Hi all! I had good intentions for expanding Mooreton Bay this month but it hasn't seemed to come together! I've cheated a bit here and used the upper level of a building from my recent Ainesford Market MOC build to produce a quick tavern for Mooreton Bay. While making a Bricklink order recently I came across the vampire torsos which I had not seen before. Thinking they'd make a perfect torso for Corrington soldiers I had to give it a go and these Hussars are the result. Hope you enjoy. As always C&C most welcome! Licensed as a medium artesian in Mooreton Bay, Alicentia.
  5. After the agents of the Crown and the much esteemed Oleander cartographers pinpointed the "almost exact" location of the Fountain of Youth according to the rumors already in circulation, an expedition from the already bustling city of Belson took off in order for the Fountain of Youth to be found for the glory of our mighty nation! Preparations were assigned to Hugo D' Offren, an officer of the Crown that had proved its value more than once on these rough lands across this hostile ocean that had already claimed many ships and sailors. Sadly for Hugo, the leadership of this expedition was assigned to an Oleander noble (obviously due to his closer family ties with the King), freshly arrived from the mainland. Ooh, how infuriating that was for Hugo, especially now that he had already established his name and capabilities at New Terra Islands... And so the expedition reached this underwater grotto that their big ships couldn't navigate in. Three rowboats were downed at the sea with their crew hand picked. One rowboat full of marines was to guard the entrance of this grotto from the cliff above, just in case... But obviously they had their fair share of action as well... ...while the rest were about to proceed inside. Hearty, muscular sailors started to row and navigate around shallow reefs with underwater eyes always fixed on them... And when the light was about to abandon them, they gasped in amazement... The cave they reached was glittering with something like gold dust in the air (later on, due to an Eslandolan invention called magnifying glass, they found out they were really small fireflies), it smelled strangely pleasing and above all... it was teeming with plants and vines! How could that be??? What we used to learn at our academies back home, was that plants couldn't survive without sunlight. Yet this underwater cave was full of glorious plants and vines! That must sure be the work of this small but deep pond in the middle of the cave... We had just discovered... The Fountain of Youth!!! What is not told at this story is that many years later, scientists found out that the water in the pond was not miraculous at all. It contained some forms of bacteria along with some sulfur that nourished the skin and made it look younger. But until then, we will let our protagonists be happy that they achieved immortality C&C always welcome! As always, a big thank you to Mpyromaxos for his lovely photographing and photo-editing capabilities! Also inspiration came from the always great Sid Meier (photo below), from Disney's PoTC and from the countless documentaries, books and stories i have read about the fascinating Age of Sails.
  6. A banana plantation has been established just outside the new settlement of Mooreton Bay, Alicentia. Demand for this exotic fruit has risen steeply in recent times, with even Her Majesty herself rumoured to enjoy a good banana now and then! A fast trading vessel can transport the fruit back to the mainland before it spoils and will be almost guaranteed to make a tidy profit. ------------------- Another quick build and most probably my last for the month. Purists will not like the bunches of bananas as I've had to use the same trick as in my Cocoa plantation to make the trees look anything like authentic but I am reasonably certain that there is no way to make a bunch of bananas using just Lego! (more than happy to be proved wrong! ) Licensed as a small plantation in Mooreton Bay, Alicentia.
  7. The next part in my collab with Ayrlego and my category 4A entry. Prior builds: In the Captains Cabin (Bregir) Pieces Of A Puzzle (Ayrlego) Arriving at Mooreton Bay (Bregir) Continuation: TBD What Major Allcock had to report made Cooke regret the orders he had given Ferguson. The Athena could have evened the scores somewhat, but she would be halfway to Cocovia by now. The curse of hindsight. Cooke pushed aside these fruitless thoughts and considered recent events. Just earlier this day he had stepped aboard the old Ironsides, only to be greeted by a widely smiling version of his old friend Ferguson. "I have been given the honour of being the first to congratulate you on your promotion, CAPTAIN Cooke," he had said, presenting Cooke with a set of glorious golden epaulettes and the news of his promotion. "Post-captain" - he had yet to fully grasp his own bliss. And while the Ironsides was not the frigate he had dreamt of, nor exactly a flyer, she was still a powerful tool if only used right... And he found himself endearing to her already. His orders reaffirmed his position as commander of her Royal Majesty's armed forces on and around Cocovia, and in Ferguson he had been given a competent officer to assist him in this task. Which is why only hours ago, it had seemed so natural to dispatch him with the Athena to Cocovia with the newest orders and directives. Cooke had to admit other duties had forced him to neglect the colony recently, but Ferguson would surely make up for this. It was in the capacity of commander that he was now talking to Major Dirk Allcock, the ranking Corlander military officer on Alicentia and temporary military governor of the colony, and a friend and colleague of Montoya's. Being responsible for the colony, Allcock had been concerned by the build-up of military forces in the neighbouring Garvian colony Leopoldis, which had led him to investigate recent rumours of a large warship being stationed there. "Let me see if I understand you correctly, Major. A Garvian frigate sailing under a letter of marque has arrived in Leopoldis, rumoured to after the largest ever prize of the New World?" "Correct," Allcock interjected. "And you believe the prize is an Eslandian treasure fleet?" "So everything suggests, sir." "You have done good work, Major, very good work. One might take you for a man of intelligence one day. Intelligence work, I mean." Cooke said, forcing a smile. "Thank you, sir! All in the line of duty." Allcock said, bowing his head politely. "Diplomacy be damned... Even though we know all this, there is nothing I can do without risking diplomatic ramifications... We need proof," exclaimed Cooke after a short pause. "Might I suggest getting someone on board the privateer to investigate? We could arrange for certain crewmembers to... fall ill, opening up for replacements..." "A sound suggestion that might give us conclusive evidence," Cooke responded before letting out a sigh. "But it is a dangerous mission... And we would have to ensure our men get picked..." "One of my advisors... Russel should be able to arrange for me and him to fill those openings. He is somewhat of a rogue, but rather well-connected in the relevant... eh... circles..." "Are you willing to take that risk?" Cooke asked, and Allcock nodding in the affirmative. "Very well. I shall row you out myself to see you off. And you must get off that vessel the moment you have the necessary proof - take no chances! When you return, the Ironsides may have to re-earn her nickname..." And so, late next evening, a new purser and his mates were being taken to the "Black Oak" in the port of Leopoldis after the original crewmembers had suffered from alcohol induced comas... "Godspeed, Major Allcock, Godspeed..." "Thank you, Commander Cooke. I shall return as soon as I have the evidence..." ----------------------------------------- Hope you like the story and builds - C&C is, as ever, more than welcome. Stay posted for more. Extra photos in the spoiler.
  8. The MAESTRO Quest Hall ! or The MAESTRO Adventure Parties (MAP) Hello to everyone ! Felipe de la Manzana and MAESTRO are proud to launch this new idea : The MAESTRO Adventure Parties ! or MAP if you prefer. This idea is the way the MAESTRO trade Company will explore the New World ! Our scientists, helped by The Doctor, from Corrington, and with the assistance of the Ténotclaxcans, developed a way to chartered new areas uknown until now ! With those new maps, MAESTRO is opening to all the players of any Faction a new in-Land action. This action will be known as the MAESTRO Adventure Party (MAP). One Party will be launch for a time determined by the Party leader (by now, just MAESTRO members) and be parted in 3 Acts (like in theater plays). Every player who wants to try the adventure has to conform to some rules : - A Party is something near a build-off or a mini challenge. The players will have to build a MOC for each Act. Each Act is scenarised by the Party Leader, for now, only MAESTRO members can be Party Leaders (Please, PM me if you want to try) - Every participant has to suscribe to a determined Party. He can do this by PM me or just suscribe in this thread. - A Party is a competitive action and each contestant needs to suscribe to a specific Party before participating. There are no possibility for team action for now. - Suscribing to a Party engage to spend Dbs to win a clue to solve the story. The amount and the clues are Party leader decision. Players should be awared that Parties can be lost and will lead to a loss of Dbs ! - Once you suscribed to a Party you're suppose to go to the end. - MAP is only engaging MAESTRO and is not a new official action. It's not a MRCA action. The first party will be open in the 15th of July. It will be lead by myself and be about the Ténotclaxcans pearl divers. So every player who want to try the adventure is free to PM me or suscribe in this thread. Thank you !
  9. Freebuild #1 June 616 There will be order on Isla de Romantica through liberal application of gun powder and shots. Monkey spies are everywhere. Watch your flank. Cannon Wagon by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  10. Hi guys, I guess it's still the 25th somewhere on the dark side... of the moon So here goes, part II of Oleon's side of the build-off with Namere. Investigating “A fresh lemon scent.” That was all that the crew of La Recouvrance noticed when they arrived at their rendezvous point with Scimitar and Commerce de Breshaun. Nothing else. The ships were gone. Other crews had reported seeing a ship flying a changing set of flags, causing them to run, since only pirates would change their flags to unlawfully prey on ships. And several reports hinted at an involvement of the Namerians, so Granoleon decided to have the ambassador in Balmin launch an investigation. The Royal Court knew the Namerians were opposing any trade relations with the Marderians, and would offer letters of marque to anyone to interrupt trade routes. But there hadn't been any trade between Oleon and Mardier in years, so should the rumors of an Namerian involvement turn out to be true, seizing both vessels would have been an act of piracy, not to be justified by any letter of marque! So a private investigator was hired to shed some light on the mysterious disappearance of the two ships and Namere's role in this story. The investigator's first stop were the docks in Balmin. But so far he has had no luck finding any traces. But suddenly... could it be? A fresh lemon scent! It's a start. But will it lead somewhere? Thanks for watching C&C as always welcome! Vive le Roi!
  11. Just made the original deadline! My first attempt at a waterfall, not sure I'm totally happy with the result, I have some ideas for next time... Hopefully you'll enjoy a somewhat typical Corlander take on the Fountain of Youth myth! __________________________________________________ Establishing a crown settlement is not an easy task. Major Dirk Allcock had never thought it would be otherwise, even so the day to day struggle of supervising the fledgling settlement of Mooreton Bay was taking its toll upon him. Finally he had the opportunity to take a couple of days off. Leaving the colony under the care of Lieutenant Stewart of the Royal Marines, He has set off accompanied by his native friend and companion Xochitl. Talk has swept through the settlement recently of the craze to locate the mythical fountain of youth. Stories of the adventures of the Olean priest Father Tholeau have encouraged many to set off in search of what Dirk is convinced is a misguided waste of time. Fountain of youth indeed! Any good man of science should rightly be sceptical of such superstitious nonsense! And Dirk of course is a good and respectable man of Corrington, a nation known for its love of science and order! After seven good labourers deserted the settlement in search of this fountain, Dirk voiced his frustrations of Xochitl. The beautiful priestess had suggested she take him to see a waterfall some distance into the interior from where the settlement had been established. Dirk, badly in need of a break from the settlement and keen to make some scientific observations in the interior's vast jungle, had agreed and at the first opportunity a small expedition set off. On reaching the falls Dirk's breath was taken away by the beautiful serenity of the scene. As he and Xochitl relaxed lazily on the banks and watched the water cascade into the pool beside them, he felt at peace for the first time in months. Indeed this was just what he needed. No drunken brawls between soldiers, sailors and marines, no convicts to supervise, no free settlers complaining about provisions. Just natural beauty surrounding him. Already he had spotted some examples of an unfamiliar specie of epiphyte with brilliant pink flowers growing in a large tree. His friend Don Montoya would surely be interested in some sketches of these! Dirk felt younger than he had in years... ppfffftt a magical fountain of youth indeed! What poppycock! Surely here was the key to feeling healthier and younger, a peaceful and gorgeous location, good company and plenty of new flora and fauna to investigate - what more could a man of science and order ask for? Not without a sense of humour, when discovering the native people didn't have a name for the falls, Dirk decided henceforth they should be known as Tholeau Falls. Little did he know the name might be more fitting than he had ever imagined... and a picture without figs in case you're interested!
  12. The largest building constructed so far in the fledgling colony of Mooreton Bay is the newly completed ETTC Warehouse and Offices. Constructed on a large plot of ground with future expansion in mind, the imposing looking brick structure serves as both a warehouse on the ground floor, and offices on the top floor. What is the ETTC you ask? A very good question. Well, we can't tell you too much, but the East Terran Trading Company is a secretive consortium of prominent Corlanders operating in the new world. Unlike certain other faction's trade companies, the primary goal of the ETTC is not profit, although it is of course desirable! Indeed rumour has it a large dividend was just paid out to the companies shareholders! Rather the primary goal of the ETTC is to work to advance the national aims and goals of the crown of Corrington in the New World. And that my friends is enough said regarding the ETTC. Here in the yard, ETTC Foreman Noel Paterson supervisors some sailors loading recently arrived maritime cannon carriages onto a cart for transport to a waiting ship. You may recognise Noel and the cart from his recent work collecting bananas from a local plantation. A hired guard stands at the entrance and a native warrior waits patiently for his chief who is inside the building. On the first floor Colin Jenkins, the principle agent for the company on Alicentia, negotiates with one of the native chiefs. The natives have been supplying raw materials in exchange for goods such as iron cookware and utensils. Jenkins, together with Paterson are the companies only paid employees on Alicentia. Together they look after the companies interests in Mooreton Bay and Corrish Alicentia. ______________________________ A warehouse trying out some techniques with the 'brick' bricks. I would have liked to make the interior bigger (it was originally planned to be 16 studs wide) but I ran out of the 'brick' bricks for the walls. That won't happen again as I have 399 dark tan arriving this week bringing my dark tan total to over 500! I have some plans for those bricks and wanted to play with some different styles with this build. Any hints or tips into this style of 'clean' building with these bricks is very welcome. Licensed as a medium commercial property for the ETTC.
  13. Father Tholeau and the Midas curse During the exploration to find the fountain of youth, Felipe de la Manzana and his team found a strange book near the floating rocks. Here is what they learned reading it : "I am cursed... I will probably die soon, so here is my last words. If I don't find the Fountain of youth, I will never be able to cure me from the terrible curse Hades priests cast upon me. I had to flee from the ship I was because the crew began to be worry as the first symptoms of the curse appeared. First, it was just pain in my right arm, then my hand became solid gold and became un usable. I had to flee... I landed in a desert island and it appeared it was not the good one. I thought I was closer to the island of the Fountain... After crafting me a small fortune skiff, I managed to reach the next island. It wasn't so far, finally... It appeared I was wrong again, this island was mangrove and swamps. I had to escape from alligators' attacks. At last, I think I found it ! This is probably the good island. Those strange rocks seemed to protect the access to the Fountain ! Let's hope I can reach it... Now, all my right side is contamined by the curse. I have to walk with an help... I am cursed... This is the Midas curse, and the only way to cure it is to drink the Fountain waters. Father Tholeau." This was probably the last words of Father Tholeau. Hope you enjoyed it. I made many little fun builds for this Challenge. As always, C&Cs are welcome.
  14. (note: the first picture is a recycled picture only serving story purpose) (recycled picture) Somewhere in Breshaun, everday business was going on. An older guy with an oddly brown beard and poor clothes went to the MAESTRO Cider shop at the quays. "Greatings monsieur N'estpassivieux, how are you doing today?" "Ah, excellent eh, oui yes, but too bad it will be my last applecider I'll drink in my life" "How it comes? You are our most loyal client!" "Ah oui yes, I should not say it, but as I am older, I don't have so much longer to live. And see, I got a cousin in Mardier, and the higher class in Mardier spent their last days in a Spa. Something about a white volcano It makes them feel younger. But only Marderians are supposed to know." "Really too bad, we'll miss you... Anyway, enjoy the applecider and your holiday there!" At the same time monsieur N'estpassivieux left, a messenger left and took a quick Skiff to Elysabethtown. -------- A few days later, around miday, The Prince of Stedor arrived at an island with a white volcano. It wasn't that hard to find once you knew what to search for... (note, this seriously is not LEGO... It is to illustrate the island and the inspiration for the following pic which is LEGO and is my story build.) ---------- "A Mardierian flag, this should be the right spot", Jan Zwartbaard whispered to his Lieutenant once they set foot on the land. They found a perfect spot to hide the Prince of Stedor and the troops stationed on it. "I don't like the symbol of Zeus as flagpole" the Lieutenant replied. Strange indeed... But the explanation came quickly as the exploring party arrived at the so hyped Fountain of Youth. "Welcome to the Fountain of Youth Spa, Please register here, leave your money and weapons there, change your clothes wherever you want and start relaxing!" A beauitull woman welcomed the explorers. Jan Zwartbaard was stunned for a moment. Such a beauty!! But then the Lieutenant woke him up from daydreaming and pointed to some red cloaked figures on top of a small hill. The lady saw them looking and wondering, so she said: "That's Lord Father Toleau. He discovered this island and made this wonderfull Spa Resort out of it." "What's the secret of this island?" "Well, the rich and famous from Mardier are enjoying the end of their life here. As we got everything in this Spa and they may do everything here, added with the healing atmosphere of the White Volcano, they feel young again. Ofcourse they don't live forever, but at least, they die feeling young..." Meanwhile Lord Father Toleau arrived at the scene as well, accompanied with two red cloaked guards. "Ah Eslandolan friends... As good tradepartner of Mardier, you are welcome to take a rest here, but we fear you are too young to stay here..." "Weren't you an Oleon priest?" "Oh yes, but after I discovered the island, Mardier offered me the most power and wealth, so now this a Mardierian Colony." Jan Zwartbaard knew enough.... Lord Father Toleau didn't know there was war between Eslandola and Mardier... He didn't know YET... He looked to his Lieutenant and nodded... What a beautifull addition to the MAESTRO empire... To be continued... ------------------------------------- Wow, such a difficult built as it is completely SNOT... But I am very happy with the result! C&C welcome!!
  15. Somewhere in New Terra to the east of Halos with a copy of the journal...
  16. Dramatis Personae: Previously: http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=132603 Currently, on an uncharted island... My calculations were correct. Here it is. What is it? This, Wilhem...ahem...Willy, is the legendary Fountain of Youth. I thought it was just a myth. From my research, I've learned that it is very much real. However, it's not of much use now, since it appears to no longer function. FOUNTAIN'T!!! I do find the statue in the fountain curious. Perhaps it was some sort of god or higher being? Whatever it is, it does look out of this world. Oh, stop with the stupid veiled alien references!! There are no aliens in this forum!! And no, this fountain doesn't have some sort of advanced technology to reverse aging that stopped working a long time ago!! Who writes this stuff?!?! That loser should go back to the sci-fi forum where they tolerate this kind of terrible writing!!! All comments and criticisms welcome!
  17. A conversation overheard in Bastion... "Let me get this right. They found a random rock sticking up..." "Yup." "And built a fort around it..." "Fort might be a strong word for it. It's a coastal battery. Barely more than a wall and a hut." "And someone volunteered to run this... wall?" "Which is why she gets the hut."
  18. The Royal Society of Natural Philosophy is pleased to announce the opening of a Botany House in Mooreton Bay, Alicentia. To advance the study of the flora of the New World, The Society has managed to engage the services of renowned Corlander Botanist, Sir Jonah Banks. Banks has set up his quarters in Botany House, a building in Mooreton bay built specially by the society for the study of Botany. Located roughly in the centre of the settlement, the land adjacent to the building has been set aside for future Botanic Gardens - a planned green oasis in the middle of a bustling town! Here Major Dirk Allcock can be see discussing some recent discoveries with Sir Jonah. Meanwhile the society employs a local boy by the name of Billy for gardening. Licensed as a medium educational property in the name of the Royal Society of Natural Philosophy in Mooreton Bay. Hi Everybody. A long promised build for the Royal Society. Not a particularly interesting build, but I wanted to try something larger scale in dark tan bricks. I hope to have something slightly more exciting up early next week for the Society (but in a different location - Capt Wolf, looking at you!).
  19. The Ténotclaxcans scouts : Thanks to the Doctor Gellibrand, Felipe de la Manzana managed to persuade King Azuma to send him his best jungle scouts. The team is lead by a masked chieftain, helped in his task by 2 priests, here a man and a woman. The team is now equiped by swords from Elysabethtown armory but the natives kept their spears too. The throwing weapons are still the silencious bow and the poisonous dart blower. The Ténotclaxcans found them so effective they did not accept bearing flintlock pistols. I am developping the lore of the Ténotclaxcans by creating some troops. Hope you'll enjoy this build.
  20. Captain Matthew Sawkins of the Lady Jacqueline has had this fine but modest house constructed in a prime location in Mooreton Bay, Alicentia. Here he and his wife Hannah enjoy a relaxing drink on their upper balcony with beautiful views of the bay. In the street below a baker originally from New Olean sells his wares in a handcart. The Sawkins' son Craig can be see playing in his bath in the yard (under the watchful eye of his nanny of course - safety first!) _________________________________ A quick house for Mooreton Bay. Licensed as a small residence. C&C welcome!
  21. The map he sought was on LeBellan. That was sure enough to complicate things, but Leon Dracken was not put off... Perhaps he should have been. Finding himself locked up by the Oleon Navy was not part of the plan. Luckily, his cell overlooked the bay, and his crew were in town. The Garrison Commander had just finished bragging about Dracken's upcoming execution when the cannonball struck the corner of his cell. Moments later, Dracken was outside, and rescue - of sorts - approaching. The Oleon soldiers above him were not so lucky. Dracken's crew, including Master Gunner Kite, were coming, with a boat. Dracken readied himself for the jump to the boat. The soldiers would just have to rescue themselves. And then, Complications ensued... Unfortunately the lighting wasn't great while these pictures were being taken. These were the best of the bunch.
  22. Here we are finally! Welcome to our new home of Bastion! And who be ye? Ye dun look like a Sea Rat! Look everyone! This must be one of those ruffian scoundrel types I've read about in the brochures! Ah, but where are my manners? I am Ethylene Glycol, professor of science; and these are my students. This here is Lucy Liu, my senior graduate student. Don't mess with her, because she's Asian and knows martial arts. That and she's a bitter sixth year student who doesn't have enough papers to graduate. That wasn't a racist introduction at all. Besides, whose fault is it that none of my projects had interesting results?! And why did we even leave Corrington in the first place, Professor I-Lost-All-My-Funding-And-Had-To-Leave-The-University?! And what the hell is an Asian?! Do you see a place called Asia on this map?! I told you she was bitter. This here is "Motorboat" Peacock. People assume he is nicknamed after a seafaring vessel that has not been invented yet, but in fact, he is nicknamed after a thing he does with his mouth which is named after a seafaring vessel that has not been invented yet. For some reason, he is very popular with the ladies. BbbrrrrrrrrrrrrBbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrBBRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! And this is my newest student, Alois Bieber. He was a former Oleon soldier who had attended a seminar of mine to protest science, but instead got enlightened by my lecture and has since become an evangelist for science. FOR GREAT SCIENCE!!! Erm...hi. My name is NPC143. Oh, my poor soul. You are one of those non-player characters. Maybe if you try really hard, you will eventually become significant enough to have a name of your own in this story. <sniff> I just want to be a real boy! Don't we all? Anyways, we are here to establish a new university of higher learning here at Bastion! One unfettered by the idiotic scientific rigors that those Corrington stick-up-their-arses seem to adhere to with all the fanaticism of the Oleon religious zealots. You mean like replicating experiments to ensure that the results are reproducible and statistically significant? Gobbledygook! A single observable event is all that's required! Afterall, if it's not true, then why was it observed in the first place? Or like writing transparent Materials and Methods so that others can follow how one did an experiment and reproduce it if necessary? And give away my precious secrets?! Nonsense! They are lucky enough that I don't write my manuscripts in code, as it is. Um...okay. You there. You look tough, how did you lose your eye? I was in the laboratory one day performing an acid-base titration when my fiance barges in and throws my experiment in my face! She apparently had learned of a tryst I was having with my undergraduate assistant. You could say that she blinded me with science! Ha ha! Science giveth, but science can also taketh.... I'm sorry I asked. Oh, look at the time! We must be off! It's been a pleasure, I hope we'll meet again...er...NPC297. That's NPC143. Sure, whatever. Toodles!
  23. Dramatis Personae: Holy crap! How much further do we have to walk in this jungle?! My mosquito bites have mosquito bites! Bear with it for just a little while longer, Lucy. It appears that this path is leading to something more significant. OH! There it is! Given the feminine nature of this statue, it would appear that the Choochoochootuklukchoo people worshipped this goddess to bolster the fertility of the civilization. I'll say! I'm feeling my fertility being quite bolstered by standing in front of her! PHYSIOLOGY!!! Hold it! Wait! Aren't we supposed be locked up in a Mardier prison, according to the latest issue of the Kings Port Advertiser? Yes, yes, that. Well, Challenge 1 is due before the Freebuild to explain what happened in the MCRA Result from last month, so we are doing this scene first. TIME TRAVEL!!! Oh shut up, Alois! Wait...wha-what is Peacock doing to the statue?! FORNICATION!!! That...that's indecent! We...we can't show that here! Stop him, Professor, stop him! He's desecrating an ancient ruin! You stop him, Lucy. I'm not getting in the way of that. Comments and criticisms are all welcome!
  24. Here is my entry for Challenge 1 Category A : A juicy meeting So, Felipe de la Manzana and his first officer and trustfull friend Basil passed the Portal they saw in the jungle when they first touch ground in the island that seemed to be Berelli, the one Ivo Fortesque himself found east to Nelissa. They walked some time in the jungle following a little pass made of paved tiles. Felipe was very enthousiastic with that because it was another proof of a human presence here ! Exactly what he was expecting when he found this tribal stuff with a note at sea few days before. This discovery made him sail east and by now he never had be disappointed ! Perhaps those natives could know some interesting legend and why not some with a golden apple that would worth the effort ! Lost in his dreams, Felipe did not payed attention where he went and after passing a bush, Basil hold his arm saying : - Hey ! Felipe ! Be careful ! Here are the famous natives you expected to see ! Erh... I think we bothered them in the middle of some funerals... Ah ! Hold on ! Felipe ! They saw us ! But it was to late ! Felipe walked through and disturbed the ceremony enough to anger the priestess - Hey ! Que faites-vous ici !? She said surprisingly in Oleander ! - Sorry, we are explorers from the west and we try to find some of the native people of the island. Answered Basil, better in Oleander than Felipe. - Ah ! Again ! Some of the man from the west ! You are not the first ! Are you bringing the Thunder-Fire with you ? Basil and Felipe tryed to find what it was and found it was guns. - No ! Not at all ! we are here to find a rare fruit ! a golden fruit ! said Felipe. - Ah ! let me finish these funerals and we will talk. After a while, once the ceremony finished : - Welcome men of the west ! I am the high priestess Zumo de Kapayas. You are very welcome in the tribe of Ténotclaxca ! We are pleased to see you are not carrying your terrible weapons. Are you coming in peace ? We first met some men dressed with blue and with priest. They teach us their language and then they tryed to hunt us from our land ! so they brought their... what are you calling that... ah ! yes ! Guns ! But they where too few, so we killed them or send the survivors at sea. Unfortunately they killed our chief Saginga, the one we burried today ! - We are not like those Oleanders ! We are here to offer you some products to trade and to gather some informations concerning a golden fruit we are trying to find ! - Ah ! Yes ! Of course ! We've got such a fruit ! - REALLY ! shouted Felipe. - Yes it is that fruit. And a native brought a shiny yellow Banana. - Argh... No ! That is not the fruit I am looking for ! This is this one, but a golden one. Said Felipe showing to the Ténotclaxcans an apple. - No, sorry, we don't have that. Answered the young native. But if you want, we have some legends talking about strange magic and some are about mother earth and a fruit. You are welcome to seat with us and listen to those stories but you will need to learn our traditions. - Of course, of course... Answered Felipe. The hope is not lost to have some informations ! Hold on Felipe !
  25. Dramatis Personae: With the Wave of Knowledge, now we can sail from port to port and attend scientific conferences. Meanwhile, we can network and set up collaborations, as well as recruit faculty for the new university of Bastion. I'm guessing you'll register her as our free ship, a class 2 trade vessel? Indeed. She isn't the fastest vessel, but she can definitely carry specimens we discover on our scientific expeditions back to port. Her spacious hold also has enough room for the crew quarters and provisions. By removing the main deck, you can access the hold. Because a crew that sleeps together stays together! If you try to sleep with anyone other than Alois on this boat, I will rip your testicles off and shove them so far up your anus that you'll vomit them back out. ANATOMY!!! She also comes with a ship's boat and a pair of heads at the bow. Yes, my fantasy of defecating into a box in full view of everyone while being violently tossed about by the ocean waves can finally come true. My fantasy of watching you do that can come true, too! I swear I will kill you so hard, you will actually die twice. By the way, is there any reason why all the pictures we've shown are from the port side or bow? That's because the LEGO company got cheap and only prints the sails on one side, which forces fans of LEGOs to only display their builds from specific directions. Here's the ugliness in full view. Do you see this, LEGO? This is ugly! Help us help you by printing the sails on both sides! And that's that. I guess that wraps up this free build post. We're not going to reveal how the hull was assembled? And give away our secrets so others can copy our work? It's called "open source", get over it! Here's the bottom of the hull.... Wait! Stop! Too late! What have you done, Lucy!!! Oh, shut up! Comments and criticisms are all welcome!
