Location: B08 Greater Direstan Tags: MANTIS, land vehicle Double D's log 19: Well, the MANTIS strategy discussion on the orbital Space Station 001 was a ton of fun, but now I'm back to speeder testing. The one I'm testing this week is so shiny and sleek. Can't wait to give it a spin! The plains on Greater Direstan are perfect for zooming around just in case the speeders are hard to control. -------------------------------------- Yup! Another speeder! I love making these things. Location: B08, Greater Direstan Tags: MANTIS, land vehicle Double D's log 20: After last weeks awesome speeder driving, I've now been tasked to drive tools and supplies around the base here. It's a pretty neat vehicle, it can hold lots of tools, pull quite a bit of weight, and even the front tire folds up so it can hang on a rack when we're done using it. Still, it's slow, and kinda boring to drive. Guess I shouldn't have said how much fun driving is and instead have specified I like driving fast vehicles!

Location: B08 Greater Direstan Tags: Exploration Credits to CallMePie for this build. I hope I did it justice. Mission Log: Entry 14 ~ It was nearly midday when I opened my eyes. I didn't know who I was, where I was or how long I'd been asleep for. I was lying face down in the earthy soil of some planet; in front of me, dense forests gave way to vast cliffs of solid stone, permeated by purple twinkles. The name "awesomnium" occurred to me, although I had no idea why. To my left, the entire planet was a barren, charred wasteland, small flames licking at the skeletons of trees and bushes; it was as if a great area of the planet had been slain, razed to the ground and turned to ashes and dust. I was horrified: who could have done such a thing? I then became aware of a curious robotic ... thing hovering above the canopy of trees. It was grey, with dark red highlights and an emblem in the shape of a flower entitled "Kawashita Group Probe Drone Mk. IV". The... drone, I guess, hovered down until it came face to face with me. A curious, gravelly voice emanated from it, "Scanning.... Identification Approved." I peered into its luminous red eye, "What identification? Tell me about myself." It replied, and as it did, as if from a jigsaw puzzle, pieces began to fall in place within my head. Who I was, where I was and what had happened to me. "Name... Cjalus Avinder, alias Agent Dragonfire. Homeworld: Earth, Milky Way Galaxy. Occupation: Senior Board Executive at Kawashita Group, Ltd." I blinked, taking all of this in, "Where... where am I?" "Location: Greater Direstan, Andromeda Galaxy. Currently under MANTIS control." MANTIS. For some reason I thought I ought to remember the name, but it escaped me once again. I did know one thing, though. They must be the ones that did this to this beautiful planet. I felt a cold feeling of rage at the wanton destruction; it was interrupted by the drone. "Message from the CEO of Kawashita, Agent Raven. 'Dragonfire, is that you? Where have you been? We've lost almost all our members and the other corporations are encroaching on our territory. There's a shuttle in orbit above this planet. Come quickly: Kawashita needs you." I got to my feet, a determined feeling in my mind. I would find out what had happened. I would find out who I really was. I would return to Orinshi. I was back. Without minifigure/drone:

Location: B08 Greater Direstan Tags: Exploration, Land Vehicle Misson Log: Entry 24 ~ The briefing from CEO Raven was uncharacteristically harsh. I was admonished for forsaking my duties as an explorer, informed that I had no right to go around wearing blast armour and carrying weapons, and told that the shock of my injury was exactly what I needed to get back into protocol. She then congratulated me on eliminating the mutant threat. Some people.... Anyway, I was back on Greater Direstan for the third time in less than a year, carrying out a standard recon / exploration mission on a fairly ordinary speeder. Funnily enough, I didn't really miss the adrenaline-fuelled fights and chases of the last month or two - seems Raven was right about where I truly belonged. What I did miss was the companionship of my former team - Agent Kytes, Captain Askarn, Akiko.... My previous journeys and adventures with them were probably something I'd always remember. But there was a whole new world out there, waiting to be discovered, and I was in the vanguard of it.... [Just a small build this time, not much time or space for anything larger. C&C welcome.]

Mission: Low Level Search Tags: Kawashita, Greater Direstan, Airplane, Exploration I am searching Greater Direstan for Awesomnium, the low level plane I have flies slow enough I can spot any out cropping or fields of materials.

Location: B08 Greater Direstan Tags: Exploration, Land Vehicle Mission Log: Entry 25 ~ That basic speeder from last week was a little too .... basic, and I was suitably pleased when I was assigned an upgrade: the Anomalocaris light recon speeder. It was meant to bear some resemblance to some prehistoric sea creature from billions of years ago, but I really didn't care. It was sleek, fast and well-equipped to navigate the terrain of Greater Direstan. Anyway, this was when I found it. As I skimmed along a grassy clifftop permeated by caves, I saw a glint of brighter, sharper, artificial green in the grass, and slowed to a halt. To my surprise, the shattered, tarnished remains of a robot became visible, lying in pieces half-under some vegetation. The bright green eyes flickered and focused, and one of the robot's hands was raised a few centimetres, in a gesture that obviously meant Help me. Within an hour, I had it loaded onto my speeder and was heading back to base, wondering where it came from (it wasn't either an Octan, MANTIS or Kawashita make) and how it had come to be in such a pitiful state.
