  1. Well, that was an accidental leak. The Amazon video was still way cooler than Greg's "OK so this is how it is" crap. -Ikk
  2. I'll bet a 100 bucks we'll find out about those things in the OGD too. I can't remember the last time a central mystery was revealed in the story, aside from MN's identity (which, yes, was really well pulled off). -Ikk
  3. That's true, we still don't know who the beings inside it are... that's all I can think of though. Its function and origin were stated in the OGD first. I really hate that it's Mata Nui's rocketpack, but that's a whole other discussion.
  4. They're periodically given in the OGD and at book signings, once members have asked the right numbers of questions. Off the top of my head I remember the Red Star, Bara Magna's moons, the Shattering, the Core War, the Baterra, the second Mata Titan, Mata Nui's mission, the Makuta's purpose, and the Nuva not dying being revealed in the OGD alone. -Ikk
  5. It's irrelevant whose decision it was and where it happened -- Greg still did the revealing outside the story, which should NEVER happen with a mystery story. I can't imagine the Bionicle Team forcing him to spoil these plot points, so Greg was responsible either way. WHich makes him a terrible storyteller. Don't get me wrong, I like Greg. He's one of the nicest and most honest persons I've ever spoken to, and he deserve credit for his commitment. I've no idea what went wrong when decided to just give away these answers, but it's rather telling. I suspect that if he hadn't been told explicitly NOT to reveal Mata Nui's identity before the very last pages of 2008, he would've done so long ago. To be fair, I had expected more from him. He has written good stories, but perhaps that was only as a result of his restraints from above. Whatever caused him to go on this spoiler spree, it served only to remove excitement and demonstrate his lack of storytelling skills. -Ikk
  6. Well, it's a sad way to go out. I cannot believe Greg revealed all the core mysteries in one breath on BZP. They should've been unveiled showly, at the right time, as the story neared its end. THEN it would have been a fitting conclusion. As I've said before, imagine if the guys behind LOST, halfway through its last season, posted a list of all the answers to all the mysteries on Lostpedia. I mean, the idea is ridiculous. I'm very disappointed in Greg for being so indifferent and unfaithful to the story. A very, very bad way to end. That having been said, Bionicle IS the kind of story that needs to end. Like LOST or Harry Potter, once the final, central mysteries have been answered, and once the main conflict have been solved -- things that should ideally happen roughly simultaneously -- the story is told. You can add new mysteries, but that would, at the end of the day, be a seperate story. It's debatable how much the Spherus Magna mystery made the past year part of the original story, but by changing the story's direction as early as 2006 to include this extra puzzle, I think they pulled it off really well. Or, they could have, if Greg hadn't been a cheap hack and actually had cared. That's the only reason I'm sad to see it go. We still get Bionicle style sets, we still get stories -- with, hopefully, ther own mysteries, in the spirit of Bionicle. I enjoyed the ride though, and if they make another adventure mystery story to go along with the summer line, I'll be a happy man. If not, and until then, I'm just grateful such an amazing, novel, and vivid series was conceived and realized for so many years. Even when at its worst, BIONICLE always invited to into a vast universe with more to explore than most other things I've seen, outside of this World. LEGO is about creation. It is also about taking apart. BIONICLE has now seen both, and, as famously said and attested, both of these are really just part of an everlasting flux. And that makes me excited about the summer series in a way I haven't been since the transition from RoboRiders to BIONICLE! -Ikki AKA Peter
  7. ... I'll never get my Mata green set. ;_; Well, this is rather sad. Whatever comes next will be fascinating to see. But just a few months ago we expected tons of glorious canisters with new colors, build, new titans and vehicles... 2009 really sent our expectations soaring. This is kinda sudden. I'm disheartened that we've seen the last sets of this glorious line. =/ -Ikk
  8. Straightened up the pic. I'm always impressed by what these guys do with CGI. It makes the story look good. =D -Ikk
  9. Mata Nui makes more sense, IMO, given that he's the most important character of the whole story. But Taka would be nice.
  10. It's almost funny how tired Greg is of Bionicle, since he gives in to any suggestions just to get rid of them. Maybe he's the reason it's ending. -Ikk
  11. ... that refers to MOL, LOMN, and WOS. I think. xD -Ikk
  12. Ah crap. There is now officially no mysteries left in Bionicle. We know Mata Nui's gotta do, we know the history of the universe, we know everything. I don't know about Greg being a bad writer, but her's certainly a HORRIBLE storyteller. That's just dandy. -Ikk
  13. Ask him what you get if you multiply six by nine. If he says "can't answer it", I'll laugh. -Ikk
  14. :O This reminds me that I gotta complete the QFTM card series of olde. I sure hope these won't be as addictive, 'cause college stole my money. xD Great, now I have a leprechaun in my headgoing "maskpacksmaskpacksmaskpacks". -Ikk
  15. ... got the quote(s)? I don't feel like digging through the spamheap that is BZP. =P -Ikk
  16. AWESOME It's so beautifully in sync with the music I couldn't stop cheering. :D I love that song, and it's perfect for Bionicle. Techno over emo bands any day! Thanks for making this. -IKK
  17. Most fans can't read Matoran, though, so what the writings actually say are just a bit of an in-joke. =P And Ussal crabs are hilarious. -Ikk
  18. The Ko-Koronan studying the "What do you get if you multiply six by nine?" writing was still the best. Such a perfect place to put it. xD
  19. Equally annoyed when they did it in the MNOG in Ko-Koro? I think it's amusing. -Ikk
  20. No, it wasn't -- it was released in most of Europe in spring 2001, with a few places (UK I think) as early as December 2000. The US got it in summer '01 and I've no idea 'bout the rest of the world. :P Officially it began in 2001, making '10 the tenth year and '11 the anniversay. -Ikk
  21. Quit trolling already, mate. You taped them together. A chimpanzee would do that. -Ikk
  22. Slizers. =D -Ikk
  23. Remember how Greg said the story team had to move forward some plans and squeeze the ELs into this year? A rather clear sign that something is happening down the road. I'm inclined to think they are ending it in 2010. For one thing, story is what seperates Bionicle from all other LEGO series, and it is evidently concluding next year. This is turn mean future years would be disconnected from not only the original saga, but also from the mysteries of those times. This is the type of story where the unveiling of the last mystery equals the end. To all of you saying Bionicle sells to well for LEGO to scrap that -- we don't know that. Greg has ben awfully quiet about the line's sales since 2007, and it seems highly likely there are at most six canister sets next year; this would mean that those sets, the core ones of the series, are not selling well at all. Thin about it, folks. Bionicle has, and would always be about two things: Mata Nui and mystery. When the last really big secret -- the destiny of Mata Nui -- is set to be unveiled -- any point from there forward would just be stalling the overdue. And with Ben 10 on the table, I really don't see LEGO competeing with themselves in the action figure department. Well, Babylon, bye bye... -Ikk
  24. Well, the comic has to be about something. :P Could be flashbacks though... I'd count that as story. -Ikk
  25. In this picture, it looks like blue Ben 10 has eitehr new legs or Piraka legs in light blue. -Ikk
