My donation to Creations For Charity for 2025. The charity is open until end of November 2025! A Classic Space themed Tie Fighter! It is built with instructions from BrickVault and the original builder is Jerac. I tweaked a few minor details to theme it as Classic Space and had a lot of fun creating custom printed elements and stickers. The build includes in the exterior: custom 2x2 round tiles (UV printed Classic Space logo) a sticker 6x6 transparent yellow dish (the cockpit) In the cockpit the build has several custom designed computer elements Two different designs of slope 30 1x2 (UV printed) one slope 30 1x1 (UV printed) and 2 different tile 1x1. The 1x1 tile UV print is not great. I provide a sticker alternative and in the meantime I will try to reprint the 1x1 tiles

[MOC] The gates of Obsidian Salt

@KotZ @Elysiumfountain @LEGO Train 12 Volts thanks for the kind words ๐งก for the rocks I used the technique mentioned in the Tips & Bricks article https://www.tipsandbricks.co.uk/post/2208-techniques-slinky-rock-by-forlornempire/ For most of the stone wall, I didn't use the technique brick and axle, it's snot but it all attached on 16x16 plates. However, I tried to introduce subtle differences in every row, so that it doesn't match the ones above/below. I also went for volume didn't' make the row flat - the light comes from below so it would exaggerate the volume. An unplanned happy light accident were the few small specks of white light on the stone wall. I generally try to avoid light reflections on bricks, unless they add something in the scene (example the light reflection on the pillars works well). In the beginning I though about deleting the specks in photoshop, but I liked the subtle effect so I decided to leave it as is. I always try to add some minifig motion, it spices up the scene/photo. When the minifig is facing the camera you can do the trick where you detach one leg, but this wouldn't work here so I had to come up with something else. -

@Yoggington @alphonse thanks for the kind words ๐งก Oh it's a physical build. It's the biggest/tallest thing I've built and it used all my "support" bricks :) -
[MOC] The gates of Obsidian Salt

Thanks for the kind words folks ๐งก I always wanted to use the Lady of Pain's head in a monster, but my so far, tests weren't successful. In this shot I feel it works well and the perspective helps. @Feuer Zug I haven't done any castle before so I wanted to build something interesting, so I said, "ok let's just build a gate". I initially went with lego arch pieces but then I upgraded to a custom built "masonry arch". The "stones" of the arches are connected with clips and plates with bars, but the "keystone" in the middle (the triangular with the 2 * '30363 Slope 18 4 x 2') is actually acting as a keystone. It creates enough tension for it to stay in place, and ensure the rest of the arch has the right shape. I was really happy with it. @Grover I wanted to build some squarish decoration but not too strict, and the "22385 Tile, Modified 2 x 3 Pentagonal" worked perfectly! I had a few "27928 Wedge, Plate 2 x 2 Pentagonal with Center Stud and 1 x 1/2 Raised Tab on Top" laying around for a spaceship, and when I made the columns the parts were just sitting on my desk waiting to be used. One of the best accidents of an untidy desk, but that's not an excuse :P The back of the monster is mounted on transparent bricks - I had to keep everything stable string wouldn't work. The intention was to photoshop them out. However, the light behind them was so strong, for the camera's exposure, that they just melded away in the yellow background. -
@Elysiumfountain @Rjbricks @Seagull King of Vaughan @Feuer Zug many thanks for the kind words ๐

The gates of Obsidian Salt The Dark Caves stretch endlessly beneath the mountains of Krania, their shadowed passages winding through stone. For ages, this subterranean labyrinth has drawn explorers, adventurers, and creatures both mortal and divine. In the elder days, deep within these realms, the night elves carved their dwellings building cities, passages and bridges. The night elves themselves have vanished like shadows at dawn, leaving no trace other than stone-carved memories. Their citadel, the Obsidian Salt, still haunts treasure seekers and scholars alike. Few dare venture into these abyssal depths. Even fewer claim to have glimpsed the Obsidian Salt gates. And none speak of what lies beyond โ for the claimed tell no tales. My entry for the Summer Joust 2025 "Where No One Dares Go" The setup was inspired by Dofresh's "The return" digital artwork https://cara.app/post/fe46b4c0-16b0-4246-9f27-1ccb2bc292fd

Hero or villain โ I wade through crimson, perhaps too far gone. Rowena For this photography I did some building, so I count it as a MOC :) Notes: for the backgrounds I used a monitor and pixabay images from users 'abogawat' and 'Bru-nO'

Thanks! The fun part is that many people mentioned the exact same thing, how much the like the tool cart. There is something to learn here, but I am not sure what that is :D

Created for the LEGO Challenge "Exploring The Cosmos", with a limitation of 250 parts. Additional photos/videos on Instagram and the challenge entry. The repair shop and the droids are built for play. They are sturdy enough to survive in the hands of a small child, my daughter is an awesome tester ๐. The shop is built on top of slope bricks that sit on top of dark tan plates. This increases the piece count, but makes it more stable and gives volume to the set. The wall and floor textures are created exclusively with interesting part & color usage. Many brick-built details and 4 different minifig workstations are included. To liven up the build and give it a retro-tech sci-fi look, I designed 9 stickers. Where is the setting? Is it outdoors, indoors, or in a yard? Is it a planet, an asteroid or a space station? Up to you! Piece count: 246 parts (2 minifigs and all details included)

Thanks, nice one! First time I spot this part

Hi, really nice creation. I'd like to ask how you created the top left air-conditioning ventilation. I don't recognize the fan piece

I just thought I share this HowTo, about my experiences taking photos of Harold, The Traveling Castle Fig. So, here it is. Harold proved more challenging than I thought to photograph with a landscape as a background. In the picture of a man in front of a landscape, the two main objects of interest (the man and the landscape) are very far one from another. A man can stand 3-5 meters away from the camera, the lens can focus to him, yet you can find an f-stop where the depth of field allows the landscape to show up nice and clear. The problem with shooting a minifig is that it is very small. If it's placed at 3-5 meters away from the camera, it's going to appear too small. In order for it to show up in the picture, and give the feeling of a man posing in front of a landscape, it must be very close to the camera (30 to 40 cm). In this scenario, I couldn't find a normal lens that could focus either on the minifig or the landscape and an f-stop that could capture both of them clearly. So I had to take two pictures: 1) one with the minifig in front of the landscape (focused on the minifig and the landscape blurred) 2) and a second one without the minifig, focused on the landscape. I used a tripod to make sure that the scene is exactly the same in both photos. In this way the editing was easier, since the colors of the blurred landscape around the minifig, matched the colors of the landscape. The final edited photo looked quite original because the lighting is original and it's the same for both initial photos. I also made a stick with lego, so that I could attach the minifig, or a plate, where more minifigs could stand. Then for my convenience, I took some test pictures to find the correct distance of the minifig from the lens, so that the minifig is focused clearly. When I found the correct distance, I put a mark on the lego stick (I simply used a green plate), so that it's faster to set the scene. Since the stick is about 50cm it's probably impossible to hold the stick by hand and have the minifig not moving at all. So, I attached it (very professionally as you can see) to the tripod. In this way, I could also take night shots. Of course if you have a place of the scene to put the minifig on, the stick isn't needed. But this is not always the case and even if you find such a place, the stick can still be used to measure the distance from the lens.

After quite some time, a castle addition. I'll follow peeron's policy, and I won't do any logos which are less then 3 years old (the ones that I already did are done...). More castle, city and misc stuff. I've also made a template of the lego horse, which is a bit posable, since the head is a separete shape. A small update. I added KK2 logos which are a bit lame, more especially their color combination. However the KK2 wolf on the triangular shield is simply awesome. I personally think it's one of the best ever TLG produced (again it's ruined from the puprle color combinations, that's why I simply changed it) I have also converted to vector MCN's template of the minifig body (I said I would do it, but then I forgot it in my hard disk). Thus, the road opens for minifig vector customization, yeah :P Also now all the templates will be in the Misc directory. Finally I would like to note that there is a small bug in the armada logo. Some SVG viewers show it without problems, but some show it a bit distorted. For example Firefox shows it distrorted. I'll further investigate this... That pic is fine! I'll do it tomorrow. When you do this, post a photo!!

I didn't knew this line *wacko* It would be easier if I had a better (than the avatar) resolution picture. If you had one, I could draw accurate details (instead of improvising :)
