Oh come on... you know you're just going to buy another WhiteCap Bay and London Escape to make the Port Royal! -
Are the capes red or dark red or a mixture?

Now it is a worthy opponent to Dr. Inferno's 8970 Robo Attack. Who would win?

Review: 9566 Samaurai X
chump replied to Perry the Platypus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Perry the Platypus, you may also want to correct the spelling of Samurai, in the subject title. -
I think that 2009's Cool Santa (set 40000) was better than this year's similar 40022 Mini Santa. Sure it was double the price and pieces, but worth it. http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=40000-1

Good eye! However I checked BrickLink and photos on Brickset and it appears to be completely black without printing so it would not qualify to be one of them.

And she's got a bucket handle on her helmet?

I too have this common affliction of wanting all the feminine Lego minifigs. This thread and your printed dresses "princesses" got me thinking about how I select which ones to get. When there were a lot less of them, it was a lot easier to try to get all the female minifigs. However, with the relatively huge increase in females (compared to the past), I've had to revise the main criteria to those with distinctly feminine torsos. Yes, those wispy outlines of curves in all the right places. No longer is just having lipstick on a minifig the only criteria. Poof! Now, I don't have to collect the soccer gals, (although they were blowing out the Women's Soccer Team set out many years ago for $2.99, so I have them) Yes, it means that the classic SW Leia in white outfit is no longer necessary for me. That's not to say the hairpieces and faces aren't important, but if you could put a male minifig head on the figure and that changed the gender then it's no longer one that I need/want/have to collect. Mainly for me that eliminates the need to collect a lot of the generic city gals. Again that's just my take on the list. I do appreciate your list for reference sake though. Thanks for all the work!

REVIEW Castle 7097 - Trolls' Mountain Fortress
chump replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Since this was bumped earlier this month, I wanted to add this EB forum thread here for reference, regarding Hiffie's MOC using only the pieces of two 7097 and probably a much better representation of a Trolls Mountain Fortress. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=60148 -
And now there will be a proper bride (rather than the one from the cake topper) in series 7. But oh dear.... King Triton or Neptune? How will he figure into the merperson scheme? The first male on the Lego Princesses list?

You might find May's issue of Wired magazine's article, "Going, Going, Gone: Who Killed the Internet Auction?" an interesting read. http://www.wired.com/magazine/2011/05/ff_endofauction/

Yes, as will Series 5 Cleopatra. And Narcissa Malfoy.

About time for a bump of this old thread, with new mermaids, PotC Elizabeth Swann and farmer's daughter in the Mill Village Raid and probably some others I'm forgetting. Been trying to get them all, but that Professor Trelawney probably isn't going to happen.

I know that you're looking to trade, but you do know that both those torsos are available on Pick a Brick S@H? Maybe if you know someone who is putting an order in, you can piggy back on their order.
-
Oh... you wrote "sits". My bad.

Just FYI, this scene was recreated in Lego form on the outside of the 4851 Lego Spiderman: Origins box. Not that a memorable scene like that doesn't deserve another re-creation.

Is this a new set? I haven't seen it before and it's not listed on Brickset nor S@H. http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=3822111

Kranxx and Ahsoka.... sitting in a tree
chump replied to chump's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the quick reply. Should have realized someone probably had done it already. Kinda digging Ahsoka's look, although I'd probably change her hairpiece to something more fitting to the outfit. Maybe that custom mohawk piece. -
I was just flipping through the Lego S@H catalog and noticed that Kranxx (Space Police 3) and Ahsoka (SW Clone Wars) probably have the same skin tone. Would somebody who has both minifigs be able and willing to take a picture and post of Ahsoka's head and headgear on Kranxx body? Ahsoka in biker gear on a day off? I may be way off, but I'm just curious to see what it would look like. Thanks!

Definitely a great set and even better when two were bought. I was particularly inspired to do so when I saw these two brickshelf galleries. Not that you could build either of them with just two sets but it certainly helped. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=27189 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=31017

How did you get this set for £2? Do you have pictures of your model with elements that you took from each book? I'd love to see them!

I thought the unprinted neck had more to do with machine assembly of torso and head. Since the hat is attached to the non-standard sized head, it would figure that the the torso and head would not be machine assembled, hence no need for a printed neck. At least that's what I would think.

So judging from the box cover, the minesweeper ain't too good at his job. Is that a part of the Toy Story story, or is that just so the medic has someone to heal?
-
So I take it we're not talking about Lego 2010 Winter Olympic games, cause shaving a sheep would be an interesting one.

The Steve Witt quote is still (in my opinion) a little ambiguous. Yes, it has gone through production that it will have for this year and no more will be produced. Does that mean no more will be produced this year or ever? I'm guessing he didn't mean to be unclear and I'm also not quite familiar with how a production run is done (ie. whether past sets have been put on hiatus until the following year or do they make all they will make and that's it). I mean it would be silly to gear up production again now to sell in Spring (again I don't know the lead time necessary to restart another production run), but what's to stop them from making another production run, next year?
