  1. As long as you don't mind assembling them why not take them both as it doesn't take up hardly any extra space? Who knows, you might find a really cool technique for the upper part.
  2. That makes sense because that's when the next Pick a Model is going to be released.
  3. Has anyone seen images of next month's Pick A Model selections? Perhaps on next month's store calendar?
  4. I went to Serious Play workshop and I was curious to know how they came upon that specific mix of bricks. Now I know it was a prepackaged polybag. I assumed that it was just stuff that the facilitator had gotten off a Pick A Brick Wall. Overall, it's random enough for people to build representative things with and not get caught up in the aesthetics.
  5. gamejutzu, on 29 October 2015 - 12:53 PM, said: I noticed the dark red things resembling cones on the first floor railings next to the stairs. Can those be worn as fez hats? And also, I've heard that you can put a minifig in a way where they are on the temple's roofs as if they're running along them. But won't they slide off if you do that? They are indeed the fezs as used and seen in the Indiana Jones Venice Canal Chase http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?M=iaj041#T=S&O={"ii":1}
  6. A profile view like this one from your Flickr account may be more useful for people to visualize.
  7. I would also suggest a photo from the elephant's side. If you can't find a photo, then perhaps the members here can help suggest something in the style of, but it's really tough to even tell that it's missing a trunk from this view.
  8. That's what the article on NewElementary surmised as well. http://www.newelementary.com/2014/03/you-raise-me-arch.html
  9. They haven't been that difficult, but this one was tough without an inventory list and an incomplete PAM inventory at our store. I like the white 1x4 plate where it is shown as it makes a separation between the arms and the legs. I may try substituting two 1x1 white plates with a 1x2 black plate in between instead. I replaced the 1x2 black brick at the back with a 1x2 white brick because I preferred how that looked, but either way is fine. I added two 1x2 white cheese slopes at the top to round off the head and then I simply gave the black cheese slope a quarter turn so the flat portion faces forward. I guess a photo would have been easier, but it's at home and I'm not.
  10. @ReslpsaLoquitur, Thanks for that! I've been waiting for that. I wonder why then went with that convoluted bottom front rather than just using an inverted 2x2 45 slope brick which was made all the more curious as our wall had the inverted 1x2 45 slope brick new on the wall. The head is a little squat, as my mother said it looked more like a fox than a panda, so we'll have to find a way to fix that look.
  11. Has anyone got a photo of the components for the Panda? My store had most of the stuff on the wall, but they still had the jeep list up, so I couldn't tell if I have everything to make the model. Not that it's a great model. I was hoping they would have most of the elements to be able to make this one.
  12. Smaller PAB walls only have one PAM for six weeks and the the second model for the next six weeks. Larger PAB walls have both for three months. The store 5 minutes from me has the six week cycle which sucks because usually there are only 2-3 items I want on the other model. But the alternative is to drive 40 minutes to the other store which has both. Unfortunately, the one closest to me always runs out of parts early, so there is never an overlap. Whereas the other PAB wall never seems to run out of pieces for either model.
  13. They sit empty? That's just silly. I can't believe a store manager would allow that to happen, as it would impact their store sales figures. What store location is that? When the store closest to me runs out of pieces, they just slap a sold out sign over the bin showing the model and then refills the bins with other parts which would seem to be the sensible thing to do.
  14. I went today, but they didn't have it out yet, they said hopefully later today. I'll try again tomorrow and post a photo of the pieces unless someone else does that before me. I would think the headlight bricks would be black, because that's what I'm assuming is used for the eyes. I was also thinking that the head might be sitting on a 2x2 white jumper plate as that's been on the wall before, but today I saw on BrickBuildr.com that someone updated their store location with a 1x2 white jumper plate.
  15. I would think you would want to repack your PaB LEGO into baggies for better efficiencies in luggage packing and then stack the cups if you really want them. Or if you don't want the cups, ask if you can fill it and then dump it in a bag and get the "re-use a cup" discount. It doesn't solve your overweight baggage issue though.
  16. I do recall many years ago when someone wrote, "hey there's this new LEGO forum called Eurobricks." and so I signed up. As #94, I didn't get a set match on Brickset. #394 looks interesting though. Harley Davidson 1000CC
  17. It looks like a Panda and a red truck will be the next model. Some interesting and welcome pieces, but not as exciting as the alligator/crocodile. http://stores.lego.com/en-us/stores/ca/fairview-mall/news/pick-a-model-85-plus
  18. I see you have two smuggler's hideouts and two blacksmith shops, so I'm assuming that you have two sets of Temple of Airjitzu. It doesn't appear that the back was completed with the extra Temple pieces, nor was the height increased, so what are you planning to do with the other Temple?
  19. Sandy, are you there? Time to bump (resurrect) this thread and list all the new ones since 2011!
  20. Always love to see your creations. How do you build up your inventory of pieces to do these intricate builds? And I agree with all those who have said about these and all your MOCs. Yes, we would love it if LEGO offered sets like these!
  21. Thanks. What a great Santa MOC. I think the Snowman could use a third or bottom layer, but that's just my opinion. I'm looking forward to seeing assembly process.
  22. A simple solution would have been to do like the store openings minifigs and make a variant with "SDCC 2012" in text on the back of the character. It still makes it exclusive and collectible but allows for the opportunity for them to mass produce it if they choose. Fortunately, I'm not collecting the Superhero minifigs so I am unaffected.
  23. Thanks, Blakbird. I was just going on instruction file size as I hadn't looked at the features of the Ninja Convertible which I have now over at MOCPages. And yes, that's probably the model that I want to end up with in the end, as well. Now to cost out printing out those manuals. yeah... go green, build it off the screen....
  24. Thanks for the updated instructions. Now to find a place to print them out affordably. I've been sitting on 8458 and 8466 for a long time and finally this weekend, I gave 8458-1 to my nephew to build first. So what order to do these models in? Does this look about right? 8458 Silver Champion - Model 1 8458 Silver Champion - Model 3 by Nathanel Kuipers 8466 4x4 Off-Roader - official model 8458+8466 NK's Ninja Convertible 8458+8466 GT Car
  25. Well, maybe if you don't abbreviate the word, "kit", it would be all right....... oh.......
