LEGO Doublebrick-2010 exhibition
Night City Dream replied to Night City Dream's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
There were too many people over there and the layout might be damaged... You are welcome! Well, I'm sorry for making such a heavy thread but I resized the pictures before uploading and posting. I actually took almost 1 GB of pictures. I'll then upload or give a link right here on to the video I took with my Nokia N97. The most interestin there is definitely the Great Ball Collider. :) -
The set is just marvellous. I can feel quite a big difference between it and let's say Creator Houses not mentionning Modular buildings but still this one is great. It's not that large and wide yet it will fit to any LEGO CITY/TOWN scene. I'd rather seen it thicker, I'd say but I understand that it's scaled just as Fire stations or Police headquarters. I wonder how costly it will be.

The pictures with limo show neatly how huge and disproportionate the wheels of the Limo are.

LEGO Doublebrick-2010 exhibition

Can anyone comment on something in this thread so that I can continue uploading? The point is that I can't upload any more as there is a limit of pics per post, and all my posts are merged. To be continued. -
Hello everybody, Let me share some pictures I took on Saturaday, April 24 at the LEGO Doublebrick-2010 Exhibition that was held in Moscow, Russia. The exhibition lasted two days, I visited it on the first day. What I liked most were, surely, City layout and another phenomenon which was the Great Ball Collider built on Mindstorms technology + Lego Technic + some other Lego elements. The exhibition was held in the Museum of private vintage cars in a modern, well-looking building. Enjoy and feel free to ask questions. No, this is fake. The true 8403 is a City House, white and red. There was a picture here in the thread some pages ago, but in a poor quality.

MOC: Art Deco period 20/30's office and Bar
Night City Dream replied to snaillad's topic in LEGO Town
Very nice MOC indeed! And I like the shot with the cat - it's like a watcher! -
Any new on 8404 or new pics for 8403?

Thank you for the review of one of the best sets of 2009. I posted a review of the same set in August for a Russian forum. Firsly, I should say that the set is worth $100. Yeah, when assembled.it is not as huge or impressive as the Police station 774 but still it is very well thought out. And I really like the red truck, it's nice. I can't say it is very similar to that from 7633 or we have to admit that almost all city trucks since 2005 are the same. You have also forgotten to mention that the blue pickup can't get lifted as its clearance is not sufficient and it touches the lift with its bottom. And I'd also add, that the wrecker has 5-level front part, not a 4-level one as most trucks have.

Who said kids do generally prefer trucks?

CITY: Extremely random photos from Lego City!
Night City Dream replied to ACCURATEin's topic in LEGO Town
Really stunning. May I ask you how many sets and how many pieces do you have? -
I wouldn't say that since we have top-notch City sets like Airport, Construction Site, Garage which are about $100, so it's quite ok. If the 8404 is an exclusive one, it has probably got more than 1500 pieces. On the other side, it's not 10XXX but 8404 the number pointing it's not an exclusive. I don't see a reason over here. Why? See no reason, either. They can issue another bus within 8404. There are lots of example when module sare repeated: tractors (7634, 7637, 7684), fire trucks (7239, 7945), police cars and vans that are on sale at the same time. So, one more bus would be great. Enyway, a Lego City does have to have a good public transportation system, and we have only one bus 7641 now. Moreover, it would be fascinating if they make an articulated bus ;) How come? That's a typical Siemens Desiro! And once again, nothing can stop them from releasing an elevated train that would look a bit alike. Well, let's hope it will be a public transportation center and nothing else!
-
Thanks for sharing.
-
Maybe because they are not finalized yet, aren't they? I really like the new passenger train, looks much like Siemens Desiro.
-
Thanks for the review. I think this set must be purchased though I see some negative point down here. Personally, I don't like the tractor. I understand that they've tried to make it different from those we've seen in 7634 and 7637 but still I don't like it. To me, it doesn't look solid, the design is not that slick or finished. Neither I like the man minifig which is the same as in 7637, they could have painted him differently. But I really like the trailer, for me is is designed better and more "classic-town-styled" then the trailer in 7637. The coral is marvelous, too. First of all because of its simplicity. And of course, 4 pigs per set is great.

When will the fair mentioned take place? I really hope and wish it was Public transportation center since it is the most original and complex one. As I said in a neighbour thread, public transportation is not a well developed theme for Lego City. I think it's worth being developed, really. City corner will be a repetition, truck logistic center is not so exciting and a repetition once more, since there have been 7993, 10184, 7642 etc.
-
Trains and bus. Public transport is not actually well developed in LEGO town / city. I'd like to see more different buses including articulated.
-
To some extent this marvellous medieval house is better than official modular house sets.
-
Yes, sure, I forgot about engines. Thanks for the info, but I'm from Russia... I think shipping will be very costly. I've surfed to Bricklink, prices on 7894 start from 110 - 120 USD shipping not included.
-
Very nice building, reminds me of my happy time spent in China.
-
My personal opinion is that they do not match much. Modular building are way more thought out, they are bigger and higher. But - they can still be integrated in the TOWN or CITY - just create a central street with these mansions, then, a bit of space, and then put other town / city buildings. Like that, I believe, there would be no strange vicinities.
-
Just to make more difference of it. In fact, 7893 and 7894 were a matter of length and colour (red / blue). All the rest was the same. Here we get two different classes of planes. However, I do like all of them, too. I wish I could purchase 7894 as well.
-
I was thinking the same way but I was told it is not that right. Lots of trucks sets do not mean anything, actually. In my opinion, Public transportation Center would be way better. Tow truck is # 7638 ;) I don't think there would be a bed in. However, the truck is stunning, looking so much like American Volvo.

What about the TRU exclusive? Any info on what it might be?
