  1. Any pictures of the new set, maybe some preliminary ones yet?
  2. With Zoo it is a nice idea as it can give birth to a developed sub-theme of 6 sets beginning with a small impulse up to a huge set with 800+ pieces.
  3. Nice city. Where did you get those unusual road plates and where did yu get that Black water slide?
  4. First of all I beg your pardon if I created this topic in an unappropriate forum, if so, please move it. The Android OS already offers us a wide variety of custom LEGO-related applications. Now I\d like to show you two programs that are aimed at dealing with Collectable minfigures. It should be sais that both are free and were tested on my Samsung Galaxy S. All the photos are clickable, and are of a 800х480 resolution. Titles: 1. Lego Mini Figure Identifier, version 2.2, © Andrew Pym. 2. Minifig Collector, © Nic Jansma. Both applications have the same functions yet have different user interface. However, I can't definitely say which one is the best. So, let's pass the the review of the first application. Lego Mini Figure Identifier So, we launch it in the Menu (I also put it on one of the desktops on my Galaxy S) and here we are at the home page: At the top of the page it is indicated which barcode should be considered. Lower, there are 3 main options. The red brick activates the camera that can read barcodes, so it is valid only for series 1 & 2. If we are to discover what is inside a green polybag, we have to press the green brick that sends us here: Here we are told that series 3 doesn’t have the barcodes. By pressing View Bumpcodes we get the following: Each minifigure is clickable, when clicking, we see a page of a concrete minifigure and hear an appropriate sound (For instance, if we open a Fisherman page, we can hear a sound of a fishing rod, or if we want to see a baseball player, we hear him screaming). Let's get back to the homepage and press the 3rd option (Browse Mini Figure Catalogue). Now we can see this table: The table contains info on all the four series of minifigures. The two first series come with barcodes, the third one comes with bumpcodes while the fourth series has only names and pictures so far. Each option is clickable as well here. We get more information beyond sound, pictures and barcodes/bumpcodes. A small text description is also offered. For example, opening the 8th minifigure of the 2nd series we can hear the sea and dolphins: Some more screenshots. In my opinion, a little disadvantage of this application is that picture quality is not very high. Mind that all the barcodes and bumpcodes are European. Now, let's view the second program. Minifig Collector After launching it, we get to the matrix of minifigs. As you can see, there are minifigures of the Series 1, 2 & 3 only. Each minifigure is clickable but when opening we do not here anything. However, here we can count the minifigs we already have bought or that we have in hand. Barcodes and bumpcodes are here. For example, yesterday I bought 1 skater and now I'm considering 2 more. Below the matrix there is a menu where we can view the list of minifigures (Series 1, 2 & 3). Mind that Series 1 minifigs are in black (S1), Series 2 is blue and Series 3 is green. Now, let's get back one more time to the main page. When pressing Barcodes / Bumpcodes we get a list of them. I especially liked they are large and look very neatly on a 4-inch screen. The following option allows us to activate the camera to read the barcodes, which is available only for Series 1 & 2. The last option opens internet auctions like Amazon.com where you can purchase minifigs. This is almost all I wanted to share with you. As a little addition I'd like to mention that Android Market offers some 20 – 30 LEGO-related programs and applications. Apart from what I have reviewed, there are different games, instructions database, LEGO brickgame, LEGO Batman, an interestng application that allows to see if a purchase is a bargain or not – GetPrice. There are also some wallpapers but I didn't try them as they are not so sleek as marvellous default wallpapers on the Galaxy S like Venice at night.. I also donwloaded a BrickJournal application: P.S. I beg your pardon if I created this topic in an unappropriate forum, if so, please move it.
  5. Mind that here in Russia we have probably the highest prices the world over... Especially considering the fact that salary rate is way lower than in Europe :( Back to topic. The new truck seems very much like a Renault Magnum, doesn't it?
  6. I guess it's time to update the "Lego City-2011 images" thread, isn't it?
  7. 7744 beats all easily and others are just no match. If we consider town sets than I'd go for 6398. The best set ever.
  8. Sure, not. I still think the last Police HQ is better in all respects. The best set in the new line-up is the Prisoner Transport, in my opinion.
  9. I am sorry, but is it true, according to this picture: That the book in the set is a t least 21 pages??? I am sorry, but is it true, according to this picture: That the book in the set is a t least 21 pages???
  10. I am a bit shocked by the sheer size of the box for that small set. Last year Lego promised, if I'm right, to reduce the size of boxes.
  11. I've got some feelings it will be... Firstly because the Police line-up in 2011 is very large (not 4 or 5 sets as usual). Then, if we remember previous years there was always smth similar. To me, it seems a bit like 7213 this year in terms of regular/special editiob set. But in fact it's hard to say why.
  12. I guess the boat is a special edition set and won't be available in 2012...
  13. My first building was the Police headquarters from 1993. I still believe it was the best police station ever before the release of 7744.
  14. By the way, I'm not mistaken, the next year we're getting 9 (!!!) sets within Police subtheme. It seems like Lego gets back to old and good traditions of the 90s... Which I highly appreciate. I think the Bank set should be bigger than 7641 considering the price. It's way like 7208 in terms of size, I guess.
  15. Why do you think it is so much better? I actually don't find much interesting about the set, it is just one more set in line, but probably I'll take one still.
  16. Hm, to be a Camaro and Mustang it has too big wheels< I guess.
  17. Legosjaak, it's enormous. How big is it? 4x4 meters?
  18. Sure, how could I forget the Smart Fortwo?! Now, the 4WD from old limited edition set 6490 (Amazon Crossing) looks very much like Land Rover Discovery from the 90s. The city bus from 7641 is similar to Scania OmniCity, I think.
  19. Just stunning. And I really appreciate that it does fit into the layout as well as minifigs fit into it.
  20. is the Helicopter - a special edition set or a regular one?
  21. Hello everybody, I'd like to gather information and your personal vision of vehicles from LEGO City sets that are similar to real cars and other vehicles in part or completely. Everyone knows well the Range Rover from 7635. Who can give us other examples? 1. The new truck from the Cargo train (7939) looks very much like a Ford truck. 2. The front part of the yellow car from Public transportation set looks to me very much like Audi's. The car itself isn't similar to any Audi but its headlights and radiator can make for a typical Audi front part. 3. The smaller car from the Fire station (7208) looks like the Peugeot Boxer, especially at the front. 4. Trucks 3221/7848 are typical Volvo trucks made for USA. Other examples?
  22. To me, one of the best sets in LEGO City series since 2005 if not the best. You can view my pictures of it here: http://fotki.yandex.ru/users/night-city-dream/album/114181/
  23. The Commonwealth of Independent States, which consists of several states that were part of the USSR.
  24. ...to ask if you are from CIS.
  25. Noce job. What I ilked most about it is that it really gives the impression that it works: it is "dirty" and old.
