Steampunk Mafia: A quick-shot Mafia game
Cecilie replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Loving the theme Hinck, I'd love to play in this game 1. Two school games, Cirque du Freak and Witchbreed (in which I was vanilla town), and two advanced games, Imhotep (town investigator) and Yakuza (town hider). 2. None (I'm going to the EB event in Billund in May, but I'll have access to internet and I'm bringing my laptop so won't be a problem) 3. I'm going to go with Tammo's bomb claim in Imhotep which lasted him to the bitter end, when we finally saw through him (not to mention his hilarious "I'm a neutral now" claim the last day ) -
Happy birthday Iz . And enjoy your cake

Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 6 Building Contest

I see there are a lot of tall entries in this category, well here's another tall entry! This is a city scene for the girl skater, who goes on the stud on the wall, like the S1 skater. A picture with the third skater can be seen here. -
Hi Chris You don't sound like you're a LEGO fan yourself . If you want to try to sell your LEGO to some Norwegian fans, you can come have a look at brikkelauget.no

A bit late to the party, but happy birthday, looks like you had a great day

So many great entries in this contest, it's amazing to see the amount of different buildings recreated in this scale . And these are my favourites: 38) 3 votes (can't help it, I walk past this building quite often, and the cats for lions really are a stroke of genius ) 2) 2 votes (this is such an amazing looking rendition of that building) 24) 1 vote (something about the clean lines and simplicity makes this stand out to me) 37) 1 vote (I love the idea and the execution, so just had to give this a little vote!)

I see Kinkaku-ji turned out to be a popular structure to build . You have achieved a lot of nice detailing on the walls. And it's a third very different interpretation of the building. Very nice

MOC: Cecilie Cottontail's wooden red house
Cecilie replied to Cecilie's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks Hinck . It's not the sturdiest, no. But it's actually not all that bad. The roof pieces stick pretty well to the underside of a plate like that, but of course, it can't take much abuse at all... The least sturdy part of the roof though are the white parts on the side, they are attached so badly they fall off when I look at them They are quite kinky in Fabuland it seems Yeah, that wouldn't have left me any room for interior upstairs, which is why I looked for alternatives I try not to throw my MOCs around . It can't be helped that they get thrown around a bit in their boxes during transport though . Thanks for sharing your roof techniques Yes, I know, white against white is awful. I really need to get better at photographing and photoshopping backgrounds... I feel like I'm not able to present my MOCs in the best way because of my lack of skill in that department . I do have a red, blue and black backdrop, but I haven't been able to get any good results when using them. But yeah, trees is a good idea, I actually had planned to make some trees for it, but somehow, I ended up not, don't remember why . I'll be showing it off at a few upcoming events though, I'll try to get someone more skilled with a camera to get some better shots then . -
Eurobricks Collectable LEGO Minifigures Series 6 Building Contest

I think you're supposed to have a minifig from one of the 5 previous series to interact with your imaginary S6 figure, in addition to whatever other minifigs you want to include (see rule 1). You could just switch your alien out with the S3 alien (if you have that) and you're good And done, entry posted -

The (extremely rich) sleepyhead has bought himself a brand new super huge 3D TV, and is spending all his time on the couch in his pyjamas in front of it. The ski jump is modeled after "Holmenkollbakken", the ski jump in Holmenkollen in Oslo. For reference pic, see here: http://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fil:Holmenkollbakken_14_march_2010.JPG The S6 figure is the sleepyhead. Additional pictures, including ones with the sleepyhead sitting on the could can be seen in my flickr. -
It's interesting to see how the same building can yield so different results in LEGO. I like your take on it, with more detailing on the walls . Good luck in the competition.

Thanks . I did think about including some scenery, but I ended up deciding against it. Maybe I should have, but I don't have time to do anything about that now anyway. Thank you . The golden yellow is what makes this Temple so special in my opinion, it really makes it stand out.

My entry is based on the Landmark series and is of the Japanese Zen Buddhist temple Kinkaku-ji (Temple of the Golden Pavilion) in Kyoto. And a picture of the original.

I guess people are still working on them? -
Happy birthday CopMike

Those are some really cute looking rhinos . Even with such an angular design, they don't look blocky. Very well done

Oh no, we're doomed! I bet nobody saw this coming in 2012, and certainly not in April . Oh wait, the world isn't coming to an end until December... I guess we can relax for now then. Or maybe this is a premonition?

Thanks Hinck . I have yet to experience having to lie to people in these games, but I guess I'll have to learn that someday too....

I don't really care if I'm declared a winner or not. To me, if my team wins, and I feel like I've done my best to help out, I'll feel like a winner anyway. To me it's about helping my team to win, not about surviving. Of course I want to stay in the game as long as possible, so I'll try to survive, but whatever benefits my team the most comes first. In this game I could either use my role to hide behind known townies I would believe not to get night killed, and thus trying to survive, or I could use my role to help confirm townies and sniff out scum, and thus risk dying early, which is what I did.
-
I never saw that in the job description
-
I didn't know until I got on the dead writeboard. There's scum in there too you know . But once you know, you see all the lies...
-
I spent the first game day wondering how I could best use my action. I knew that it came with a high risk, that I would probably die early (too bad I had to die hiding behind the kill target instead of behind a scum though ), and that my role would be completely useless unless I told someone about it. I feared dying already the first night, so I chose to tell two people who to scrutinize the next day in the event that I was killed (without telling them exactly what my role was). But then def told me he was the investigator, so I figured what the hell, and just told him everything about my role (he seemed very convincing!). I really wanted to help form a solid town block by confirming people with my action. And the night I targeted JimB I was actually going to target Brickdoctor, but we switched at the last minute because def was a bit panicky about trusting JimB, so he wanted him confirmed but had already sent in his investigation action. Unlucky switch... And def, we were screaming on the dead writeboard for you to see that Bob was lying to you . You finally figured it out in the end though . It's sad to hear that the Agents had their game broken by a hosting error though. I wonder how things would have played out if you had gotten to join with the Mutineers.
