An American Privateer, the Sloop U.S.S Flame Rat
Fires-storm replied to Fires-storm's topic in Pirate MOCs
Yeah, that was the one thing I wanted that original pirate didn't give me, the gray/black hull middles and secretly, that black ain't paint honestly though, they coated the top deck in fire retardant to make sure it doesn't catch on fire, thats the black, and then the bottom is coated in a small sheet of iron so it doesn't go up from the trail of the throwers, thats why its gray. (not really, I just made up a story to explain the colors and it happens to work really well for a flame ship) glad you enjoyed it! and thanks for the mini fig compliments -
My Inaugural Imperial Ship MOC
Fires-storm replied to Skulls_Eye_Schooner_Sailor's topic in Pirate MOCs
ah, that sounds awesome, I can't wait to see them^^ -
The U.S.S Flame Rat is actually, believe it or not, my flag ship as my captain prefers her to any other ship in the fleet, due to her tactics and outfitting. She has 5 "guns" but four of those are actually flame throwers, mounted on rails so that they can move along the sides of the ship, and one main cannon below decks. the captains cabin is underneath the steering section of the ship, but is not shown yet because this ship is still a slight work in progress. I haven't even gotten the fourth flame thrower built...blasted hard to find technic pin. Well, here are the pics, and I hope you enjoy! We'll start off at the bow of the ship: A closer shot And some of the starboard side A closer shot One of the stern And one of the crew, from left to right the lookout, the captain, and the flame expert/gunner. And finally, one of my new captain. The name is Joseph Seahawk, but I prefer the nick name my crew has given me, Fire Storm. Thats my new flagship in a nutshell, I hope you all enjoy it!

A WIP American Schooner of the line*odd, I know* the U.S.S Charger
Fires-storm replied to Fires-storm's topic in Pirate MOCs
A slight update mates, instead of going with the original five masts, because I thought it looked to cramped I'm cutting down to four, as such updates are going to take a bit, may even be after the month is over, but I'll go as fast as I can^^" -

My Inaugural Imperial Ship MOC
Fires-storm replied to Skulls_Eye_Schooner_Sailor's topic in Pirate MOCs
A pretty nice little ship, I like the details you worked in, and don't worry, post on the sci-fi forum and you'll be entirely used to no comments but joking aside, a nice little ship, I like it! -
A very nice little moc, I think you communicated it perfectly fine, I like it. Excellent work, and keep bricking
-
A beauty of a MOC I love all the detail you've added, and how the interior turned out with all its wonderful details. Nice work, and good luck in the contest!
-
it is a very nice moc, but yeah, you'll want to get on that when you get home rather then making one of our over-worked moderators do it:P

Wow, a truly beautiful MOC here. I love how well you captured it, and the colors used. The bomb bay and landing gear were a brilliant touch, so amazing work and keep bricking
-
Heya, that is truly an amazing MOC. I like how you managed to convey the atmosphere effectively as well as tell a good story with the bricks. Excellent job, and keep bricking
-
wow, a truly beautiful job on the square, I love how the water and the tower in the middle of the fountain turned out, and the Inn is simply beautiful. Excellent work, and keep bricking
-
Wow, a truly beautiful moc, and even with the black, it offsets beautifully, and honestly examining trees around here the black works a lot better then brown. So excellent work and keep bricking

I don't think anyone mentioned this yet, but I think an awesome license would be of a recent anime movie I bought titled Steamboy. There would be so many incredible elements and figures in that, as well as an excellent story and cool steam based lego sets, I think it would be really fun.

An excellent MOC with an amazing message, I live by a stream where I actually see the effects of crap like this, so it hits home even more. excellent work and keep bricking

MOD - 8057 Atlantis
Fires-storm replied to lightningtiger's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice, a really good mod, I have yet to get any Atlantis, but you guys with your mod's are strongly making me consider it! and the lights do look amazing but the over-all shape is very pleasing to the eye as well:D -
Thanks so much, I'm glad you like it! interestingly enough Jules Verne was exactly what I was thinking of when the little fighters were first being built

I'm currently working on a rather large steam punk project and these are the start of it. the end result is probably going to be at least two groups of these little sqaudrons with an air base, yet to be seen whether that base is actually IN the air I was just fooling around and got the idea for these planes, then for the larger MOC that will probably be coming sometime late in summer. My idea of this version of steam punk is kind of like a post-apoc setting, where industry spelled the death of the world through industrial empire, and a small group of rebels salvaged what they could from a descimated landscape and started using steam as a more renewable source to battle the Empire. The whole squadron: a few close up shots of one of the fighters: and some close ups of the heavy fighter/dive bomber: and a close up of its secondary fuselage storage tank so it can fly long distances with extra steam: and of the storage container behind the pilots cockpit for storage of weaponry ect. in case the plane is shot down: the hoses leading to the jets on the back of the plane are to carry steam to the emergency jets in case the planes need an extra boost of speed to either evade enemy anti-air or to surprise the enemy with lightning fast attacks. The technology works because the rebels found a way to keep steam in highly pressurized conditions so that they could achieve sustained flight for hours on end, sort of like the steam balls in Katsuhiro Otomo's movie, Steamboy. I'm trying to do these steam MOCs almost like a line of lego sets, so these are on the same par of events as the paddle wheeler I previously submitted^^ I hope you all enjoy it!

Wow, its coming along very nicely, a true beauty! I was going to try the stagger technique on my schooner, but decided against it because I saw that she was already costing me around 200 bucks and Brickworld Chicago is coming up The stern came out very nice, and the blue looks really good! all in all a beauty of a ship to be sure
