What I could suggest is something I use for mine, light t-shirts such as fruit of the loom or sport brands, they give nice light quality fabric when you cut them up to make sails Also its a beautiful job you did on the entire ship, the size is very accurate and reminds me of a galleon, but the entire thing just screams wow factor. Good work!

Well done, this is a pretty amusing horror moc Y'know, I just thought about something seeing that net, maybe the goo monsters want a cheerleader and they just use different tactics?
-
Well done indeed mate, when I saw that sub my jaw just dropped, currently I am attempting to find it Well done again, and an amazing tribute to a fabulous writer!
-
How on earth could I have missed this at Brickworld!? Well done on such a truly beautiful moc, and as dark red is my favorite color besides dark blue I think I can say IMHO that this even makes the Grand Emporium look shabby
-
Well done, I actually really like how this has come out! And I quite agree that the back windows look quite a bit better with those nice frames
-
Well done, and congrats on your first post here being blogged! I really like the modular design, but one thing I'm curious about is is it possible to make the entire thing into different layouts, such as shortening or lengthening her, maybe even changing the mast configurations? Even if not, that is one awesome moc, and well done! Also, I love how much detail you've packed into this ship, as it makes it look very lively indeed

Thanks to both of you for the kind comments! And Becker, I don't have a complete bounty any more, but my old two masted schooner, the Dauntless, is her same size and height, so if you want I could get some comparison shots with her once I get a new camera My old one died right after taking these pics

Ah, I remember this display, it was one of my favorites! And seeing all of that just pour out of the box smashed was horrid, how much more so for the builder? But you did an excellent job putting it all back together
-
Well done mate, an excellent design! I like the detailing on the tower, and for me the white details really sell it.
-
An amazing job to be sure anna! Some of my favorite details are the landscaping, and the detailing on the cliff's side. Oh, and of course, the freaking amazing and gorgeous balloon
-
I have always enjoyed your Buzzard mechs, and I must say this is one of my favorites. I loved the description of the plasma ray

Review 8077 Atlantis Exploration HQ
Fires-storm replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I bought this set for the heck of it, and actually got it for 20 bucks instead of 50 because of the members sale the stores were having! I loved this set so much it actually inspired me to buy three typhoon turbo subs when I originally wasn't going to buy any Atlantis at all Thanks so much for the review, this brings back fond memories -
A beauty of a ship so far mate, you've gotten the shape of the hull about perfect, and the black on the bow looks very promising indeed. Well done!

Thanks much to all the comments, I didn't really set her up fully how I intended for the main reason that I'm saving my money for a huge display my group is putting together next Brickworld, and also that I don't really have enough bricks laying around to do the job yet. Also, thanks for the tips on the photography, however I do not even have a camera that is worth bothering to take that much trouble on, because as soon as I put it in a shaded area the flash activates and utterly ruins the shot anyway, and there is no way to disable it I will however be trying to put up better quality pics as soon as I can get a camera worth all the effort, and actually have the space and time to do it, as setting up a film studio around a 3 year old your watching solo isn't what I'd call smart time management Also @Admiral Croissant: I tried other colors, but to me the white just screamed the right feel for my American ships. All the others I tried just made them look to much like somebody else's in my opinion. I don't know, maybe it's just another of my silly preferences.

Oh my, this is lovely! The detail on the waterfall is superb, and the ruin itself is excellent as well. I also like how you used classic foresters to populate it
-
Well done mate, I love the detailing on the outside of the building, and the inside is superb as well! other then perhaps adding some tiling inside like others have said, I see no problem at all with this beautiful creation!
-
Thanks for the compliment, it means a a lot coming from such an excellent builder! I have ordered more minifigs for her, and as for tiles I'm strongly considering it, not just for smoothness, but so I can easily dust the dratted thing! @vynsane: Thanks for the tips, the main reasons I didn't use a background are A: The only thing i have big enough to cover the stuff in back would be an old poster board I've got with an important project I did on it, and B: I'm really tired of looking at white in my photos for some reason! But thanks for the tips, I'll try to implement some of them on her sister ship mayhap.

Well, for those of you who read my other topic, I decommissioned the Charger yesterday However, as I was putting the pieces away, I was suddenly struck with inspiration, and the result was a beauty of a schooner I have dubbed the Phoenix. She is a two-masted schooner currently armed with 16 heavy cannon, and her sister ship is in the works, that may be able to hold as many as 40 guns. So without further ado, here are the pics! First a shot of the port side, what a profile she has Now for a bow shot: And the stern: And some pics of my first ever custom rig job for rat lines, I'm pretty pleased! A close shot of the stern: And finally one of the figurehead. Sorry its a bit blurry, my hand was shaking with joy Well, in summary this is one of my favorite things I've ever built, and I dearly hope you enjoy her even half as much as I do!

Wow, that level of detail for the armor is insane! I'm kind of curious as to how he did that -
Well done mate! I laughed so hard seeing this. You see, if it was me I would probably wing the bone at one of their heads Also a clever use of a wookie!
-
Well done on this design! I really love the detailing on the carriage, the hanging effect you achieved between the wheels is just wonderful. Well done mate, and keep bricking!
-
Well done with this! I like the overall sense of action in this creation, the buildings look perfect, and I believe those guards may be royally screwed, just saying All in all, well done mate, and keep bricking!
-
Wow, this is incredible! The level of detail on the transport is awesome, and the fact that it is big enough to hold an at-st is also epic. Great job mate, and keep bricking

Yeah, it was a shame to scuttle her, but she has been reborn, and the result will be posted tomorrow
