Gotta reiterate everybody here and give you props for the "ent-ish" feel. I'm loving those arrow slits!

Single Pane LEGO Licensed Theme Funnies
Jason Cicchini replied to Gregorovich's topic in LEGO Licensed
Bruce and Damien Wayne halt the Riddler's evil plans. But, as usual, Damien's bloodlust gets the best of him. D- "But Dad, why can't I kill him?" B- "Because Alfred is out of stain remover. And, it would make your mother happy." (A lil' scene I knocked out for my sister after seeing the Dark Knight Rises, and simply because I couldn't resist having a Damien Robin and classic Riddler MOD.) Hope y'all enjoy! -
Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

My entry for the fourth challenge, "Chaos at Chamber's Pass" is finally up here! Phew! That was a close one! -
Chamber's Pass is a remote outpost on the border between Darwynia and Benoic, overseeing most of the trade that passes through. As the collector of all southernmost taxes and tariffs, this outpost is quite an asset and is carefully guarded by the Darwynian Royal Guard, headed by Sir Jarken Pelt. Unfortunately, the dark mage Victor Revolword has chosen to unleash his ferocious elementals upon its lands. Sir Jarken Pelt furiously takes on the earth elemental, surrounded by members of his guard. The southern wall of the outpost is attacked by a fire elemental, causing much destruction. Lord Kelperth Darwyn desperately hopes to hear of their success in defeating the elemental creatures any day now...

Every time I see the "angry face" on Kel, I think: "Kelperth Smash!" hehe Nice work on the snow details. I think someone (ZC maybe) commented how they usually don't like the red/yellow combo, but it really works here. Thanks for letting me visit! Next time, I'll bring the fur-lined cloak!

Once again, I'd like to thank Legonardo Davidy for his magnificent effort in this project! It's so awesome to see this mighty nation coming together so well! On a side note, now seeing everyone's lands laid out, there is still much more to be covered than I expected. PLUS! The areas left unsettled are environmentally diverse, and offer a lot of chance to new and old Guild members alike the chance to really step outside of the comfort zone! And if anyone decides to sit out or has problems with the 4th Challenge, there's still a whole big Harbor Town at the Great Delta that is as yet un-built. And now, off to figure out what the megablocks I'm doing for my elemental monster!

Oh, BB, you're pissing people off again! Great work on all the new free builds, guys! I fully expect us to kick Challenge 4's butt this time! -
Excellent work! The color combo is good, but it looks too much like Nocturnus' map. What program do you use? Would it export your file easily to a Photoshop format with layers? I'd love to build off of what you've created, and you'd definitely be worthy of a "Master Cartographer" title. *Cough*takenoteDerfel*Cough* Also realized I never posted my own border claim here, just on the Wiki (which I think is sadly dead?) Here is Darwynia:

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
Jason Cicchini replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
::Dies:: Damn! Another series I'll have to get all 16 of, plus many multiples for parts! LEGO, you're killing my bank account! hehe No wonder they kept this series highly guarded until it's release! FINALLY, A FAIRY! <3 -
I LOVE your detailing! The meat rack and shelving in the Butcher, and the "Magnifying Glass" in the Jeweler are classic and very "official" looking. They look like you just took them out of a Modular Building set and placed them here! Also, loving the "flower brick" corners, and the chicken slaughter. hehehe Certain aspects annoy me, though. The "observation deck" in the right building w/ the Maiden looks like you just forgot to build an awesome window there. Perhaps another gabled roof above a walkway with railing for her to await her Sailor Husband in? Another thing, we never get to see the front doors! First impressions are crucial, especially when patronizing a business. Entrances are what attract customers, and I want to see that! However, like everyone else has said, this is a great entry in the commerce challenge, and a hard one to beat!

Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Jason Cicchini replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Guilds of Historica
That is rather small, Zach. You seem to be proficient enough in visual programs to knock out a quick map of where exactly your borders lie. It would really help me to get a better sense of who is where on the map. Your request (and no, I didn't forget about you!) to extend the forest to the body of water above it has been added to the latest version. Hear hear! Glad to see our much-loved A.T.C. thriving! Your borders have been noted and will be reflected on the latest update to the map. As of right now, the most available farmland is between the (as yet unclaimed) Harbor Town and the A.T.C.'s lands, and the borders of Basilita and Fuchal. Or, if you want a smaller plot, anywhere there is room! If you can, please make a quick pic of your borders so I can include them on the latest update to the map. Also, as a general heads up to everyone: I have created a new thread to get a more concise compilation of everyone's border requests here. Please forgive the annoyance of re-posting your pics, as it will help me greatly! -
Hail Avalonians! I have started this thread to have a central point of reference for all border/land claims. I'm sorry to make you all re-post your pictures (and most of you that already have, I have probably already noted it, but just to be sure!) of exactly where the borders to your respective lands lie. However, this will make it very easy to decipher exactly who is where in our mighty guild. The next update to our map will reflect any changes posted in this thread. My expected release date is July 15th. If you can, please reply to this topic by then to ensure your updated information will be on the latest map. Thanks! -JC Current Maps: ************** Borders ******** (By Legonardo Davidy) Particulars ************ (By Jason Cicchini) Members awaiting addition to official map: ****************************** *Bricktooth *Gilence

Happy Anniversary, Legonardo! If you do update your map, please PM me or post is publicly, so I can add it to the "borderlines" map. It has been a bit of an undertaking, but the newest revision (showing the borders to everyone's territories [that have been publicly claimed]) should be ready by the beginning of July. -
Cream pie with ale for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Frosty! Especially loving the frozen water, and the Owl attacking the rat. May the union between Ondylion and Benoic be long lived!

I hate to start off a post by going slightly off topic, but I am absolutely loving how the Guilds are helping each other to grow, learn, and expand. I think the real power of our little community is showing in how we interact with each other, and adapt to not only what the Guild leaders have established, but to what other members are doing as well. I for one live to see inter-Guild development, and this build is SO Kaliphlin it's ridiculous! I nearly went back to our Guild main page to see if your affiliation had changed! I have to agree with BB and dG, though. A little more effort in blanking out backgrounds always strengthens a post. While there isn't a need to add a cool border/BG to EVERY pic like the first one you posted, the viewer's eye is often distracted by "noisy" BG's like a carpet, table, other furniture, etc. I strongly suggest exploring backdrop options since this will be a judging criteria for the next challenge. If I may offer a suggestion: I use Comic Book art boards (11" x 17") taped together from behind. They're low cost, available at any art supply store, and are extremely versatile. All that's required is to keep the pets/kids away from them to keep them clean!

Drow Attack on Hopsendootle Brewery
Jason Cicchini replied to Captain BeerBeard's topic in Guilds of Historica
Like everyone has said, you did a great job on the microscale. More impressed by the look of the massive fires among the trees than the brewery itself, though. Like Z said, if it had been a bit more focused on the building, my eye would have been drawn to it first, instead of the surrounding area. Still a great job, though. The rock work is spot on, as usual. No wonder you see over the only official "mountain range" in Avalonia! I sure hope this recent attack won't affect the price of Firebrand Whiskey from here on out. Darwynian soldiers need their fix! hehehe Looking forward to your much hinted about massive build coming up! -
Crystal Quest Chapter 7: Elisa's Story
Jason Cicchini replied to Jason Cicchini's topic in Guilds of Historica
Wow, thanks BB! As far as the torso, I'm guessing you mean Vikdar's? The Blue jacket/ torn white shirt is from (the sadly short-lived) Pirates revamp. The light blue dress shirt is a later-released Dumbledore, from Goblet of Fire I believe. Thanks, Mikel! Keep reading, there's still 3 more chapters to this story, and plenty more to come after that! -
Very charming build. Perfectly showcases everyday life while still retaining a very personal flourish that I've seen in your builds many times. Great work!
-
+1 on the round tower and perfectly crafted fountain! I've never noticed how many titles you have. Yikes! You're a regular Mitgardian powerhouse!
-
The size is undoubtedly impressive, and the cliff/landscaping details are excellent. However, the haphazard coloring of the houses and buildings are kinda distracting. A little more adjusting of the detail elements would benefit this a lot, if only to keep the eye moving in the right direction. Great build!
-
I have to agree with everyone, this is yet another classic build from you. You seem to be able to capture a perfect feel of our guild every time, no matter the size of your MOC. And, I'm digging the intrigue over your developing storyline! Can't wait to see what happens next!
-
Great build! Simple, yet detailed perfectly in the right places. I'm loving the Summoning room, and all the interiors are brilliant! Excellent work!

Crystal Quest Chapter 7: Elisa's Story
Jason Cicchini replied to Jason Cicchini's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks, man! I'm trying to challenge myself with each build, no matter how short a time it has in the spotlight. I think one of my strongest points is details, so I've been focusing on those first, and fleshing out the rest of the scene around them. Thank you very much, Lord Artorius! Just wait 'til you see what Darwynia has on the horizon! Thanks Mikey! I have about 3 more planned, hopefully aligning perfectly with my entry for the 4th challenge. Glad to see people are enjoying it! Thanks deGothia! Out of curiosity, when will you be back in Benoic? I think Kelperth needs to have a meeting with you soon. -
Wo00oW! Fantastic, except now I immediately want to see what the rest of your hamlet looks like! Great job, Mikey, as usual!
