  1. Not necessarily, imho purple in bad plastic still quite sucks... I am yet to see megabloks in here. It is either Chinese clones or LEGO and I wonder if the plastic quality of Megabloks is much better than the Chinese clones. If it was about 75% as good as LEGO maybe I would love to buy that purple spider but without trying the plastic first it seems like a risk :(
  2. Love the chance: head: Exploriens droid. cape: UFO cape black. body: Spyrius droid. Weapon: Hmnn it is a black pistol + Roborider Onyx's red laser thing which I think is also used in light sabers.
  3. How is the fact there are only 8 do-able sets a good thing? Or do you for some reason felt the obligation to buy all the sets every year? Last year I only got 1 legend and Tuma, not because of lack of availability but because I don't have that much money so I chose what I liked more... I am sure that if action figurez was all a kid wanted a smart parent wouldn't bother buying ones that have a higher price tag just because of the single second it takes to build them. Perhaps they would buy some actual action figure that can do more things or is a famous superhero and not something as generic as these guys... Well, it is likely that if the kid throws a tantrum they'll buy one of them. But after seeing how little the set really has to offer, I guess the parent will assume 'rip off' and not buy any HF set anymore. The gears only caused at most two axles to exist. The remaining pins and axles were for the "building toy" part of the experience. Since the body was composed of a torso and many axles to attach joints instead of a single torso with everything pre made and no axles at all. The toa mata were at least flexible. Sure the torso kind of sucked, but the rest of the pieces were all non-specialized. You could at least make a matoran with just the parts in one can. And if you had two you could make scorpions or things like that. Seeing these things, with weapons that only work for a specific kind of limb, it is dissappointing as a building toy.
  4. The 2001 sets had a lot more pieces and no weapon was attached to any arm/"hand", it actually had joint parts and axles and pins and even gears. The pics seem like there won't even be pins in the build. Just premade parts with arms that are automatically attached to weapons and a giant torso that already has the articulation balls...
  5. Well, it is already being used for HERO factory. I think it is time for a forum rename. Also, how about letting it have Slizers?, although they are officially part of the technic theme, so were the first Bionicle sets, and they really are more compatible with a Bionicle forum than a technic forum IMHO.
  6. It is not necessary to use derogatory names against a theme to reinforce your view. I think purchasing a bad quality product like the Bionicle battlesets or these things for a single part is always a bad deal and it gives LEGO the wrong message. Also, isn't it possible to order the part individually from s@h?
  7. For 1 USD the piece those things better be incredibly good for MOCs. So good that you instantly become the ultimate MOC artist just by using any of them in a creation. Oh and they should also be covered in platinum and cure cancer.
  8. According to brickset my oldest set is 6886 - "Galactic Peace Keeper" from 1989, I was 4 years old back then but did not know LEGO at all. I actually got this set for my 14-ish birthday :/ Basically, I liked Space police 2 sets, but this was the only large space police set still on shelves... Ok 1989 is not gonna win any contest over here but I get bonus points because it is electrical! ( edit: now that I read brickset: huh? It is not! maybe I am confusing it over something else) Unfortunately the set is not intact, though most likely I can find all of the pieces scattered around some bags :( I still have the instructions. Edit: hmnn, those abstract minifigs are interesting, cool and scary at the same time. final edit: Ok, I figured out, the set I own is actually 6781 - "SP-Striker" . Seems I got confused over when listing my stuff in brickset a couple of weeks ago.
  9. I am guessing many (including me) are not going to buy the heroes because we are not interested in re-enacting the story and these sets really blow... I mean, they are just av-Matoran except with less usable parts (by the way, it is kind of a rip off, in the Bionicle ending announcement they did promise a more flexible building system, these guys are seriously away from that) and they are all clones of each other which is seriously what drove me away from bionicle for good for 6 years before the glatorian appeared to have fixed that issue... Overall the heroes are extremely low quality and I think that the only way to make sure LEGO does not make this mistake again is not to buy them. It is not about them being pricey or impulse. It is more about the quality. The pieces seem over specialized. The piece/price ratio is hideous and they all look the same. Compare with the bionicle Stars, they were overpriced but at least each of them was quite unique and the parts are useful so I might buy a couple of them even though they are overpriced impulse sets. But in the case of these ones, it doesn't seem worth it. I am way more interested on/hopeful about the villains right now. Hopefully they will be as good as they look like in the retailer's catalog. LEGO don't make the same mistake with the villains, please ...
  10. Now take any non-skrall glatorian and make him do the same poses. I bet any of them will look girly once you make him do that. But honestly, without those poses, as a set Kiina is just like every other blue toa we've had so far, these things simply don't look feminine to me...
  11. these are not canisters. And yep, the av-matoran all sucked like this. Even the Agori are all just clones like that... When did this happen? THESE ARE NOT CANISTERS THEY ARE MATORAN I dunno , they look ok. Well, there is no way they can top 2009 bionicle I agree. Those glatorian and legends were just too good. But I think this year's canisters and titans are not bad. I am getting meltdown , Von Nebula and Rotor for sure..
  12. ten bucks the canisters will contain only the surnames on them. -- At least in this wave the bad guys are either bigger or much bigger than the heroes. So I really expect it to be 6 on 1 most of the time. This also means that the villains are going to be as kick-megablocks as they look. All good news to me.
  13. This twitter contest reminds me of 'strong internet visibility' in the retailer's catalog.
  14. hmnn if that saw isn't a separate piece I might get into a new LEGO dark age :/
  15. hmnn, gogole and the pic's name was all I needed. So, not so "leaked" anymore, I guess.
  16. It is easier to explain what got me into the dark age first. It was 2003, Bionicle canisters were all clones of the other ones. Space theme was gone and replaced with Star wars and the live on mars thingie. Money became an issue due to breaking a computer and so needing computer parts... What got me into it again: Space Police 3 and Glatorian Legends: nuff said.
  17. I don't get how are the complaints about HF images anymore of a hate trip than your bionicle rants in this post. I don't see the problem with either rant. So they like Bionicle better than HF and you do the opposite, big deal. This is just people posting their opinions and not hate trips or anything like that... What I don't like is the attitude from one side that the other is not being respectful... I think both are being equally respectful or unrespectful for that matter... I think most bionicle sets from 2002 to 2008 were bland. But I loved 2009. I mean, the sets look awesome. The villians from HF seem like will repeat that deed. The heroes though all look the same and a little bland...
  18. hmnn if the retail box for the green grocer is that big then it is not really LEGO's fault is it? Unless you want LEGO to use smaller boxes just so you can have shipit fees reduced... But then I think that smaller boxes will make the boxes more fragile when being transported. hmnn.
  19. So, instead of a movie there will be four 22-minute long episodes to be shown on TV... hmnn. I really think it is just that LEGO wanted to once again introduce conflict between good human characters and evil monsters. Bionicle was just not 'flexible' enough to introduce that kind of plot (humans in Bionicle? No way...) .
  20. 8911. Brother and I needed some of Jaller's parts for MoCs and today we were lucky to actually find him on a store at a 10% disccount sale, so there we go...
  21. You just made those launchers look like a bunch of cannons! This mech is very nice. Love how the blue actually fits.
  22. You mean flash, twitter or LEGO click? :/
  23. They are awesome. I always thought these sets were the final point of evolution in bionicle and out of the dark ages.. For some reason it seems fans hate 2009 i guess it is more because of the story... compare 2009 with any other year after 2003 and I don't think it is even a fair match set-wise :) ...
  24. vexorian

    Minimates

Too tall. No neck. Less space than a nomad. Lame.
  25. I am not sure that's a good move though. I mean, the main story idea is cliche enough, but with only four 22-minute episodes and the main objective of selling toys I can't expect the episodes to be really good or interesting and that does not sell...
