Missed LotR Polybag Opportunity
Alex the Great replied to Deathleech's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I do see why putting rare figures in polybags would be a bad idea for TLG; as they consumers wouldn't buy the sets that have those rare figures. But I think it would've been a lot better of an idea to have a Rohan soldier instead of Frodo. Consumers will only buy one Frodo most likely,if that. Where as with a rohan soldier they would buy many, and they would still get the Uruk-hai army set to get Eomer. But the uruk polybag is a good choice for a polybag. -
Err, it's Elrond in his battle armour from the last alliance, opposed to his regular robes from Rivendell. Also the poster wanted to know if anyone had seen the uruk hai poly bag as of yet.

This has been discussed in the LotR 2012 topic way back. But it seems to be that no one has seen anything about them so far... So you're going to have to wait till something pops up. I am also eagerly anticipating them!

That's what Bag end is! I think it looks pretty good, and all that green is great for castle MOC'ing. Well done TLG, I can't wait to see the inside!!

GREATEST Creation Helm's Deep by Korean
Alex the Great replied to Riquelme's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Maybe he wasn't going for the biggest Helm's Deep creation. But I think those extra details make it the best one though. Not sure how it's messy, there is plenty of awesome techniques in this build. Well done! -
Nice build Soccerkid! I'm really liking your borders, just makes it so much crisper. On the topic of the wall colouring, I don't think you necessarily have to add dark bley, tan or something else. I think it looks great here, same with SoT's builds. More texture definately helps, I mean your creations look a lot better since you've been using the log brick more. But I like this look, not everyone is going to like it, but you should stick with your style!

Review: 9474 The Battle of Helm's Deep
Alex the Great replied to Lego Otaku's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow, I guess he didn't know the rights of reviewing this set were exclusive to you. I guess we should delete this thread to make way for your esteemed review.... Sorry but that post ticks me off. He worked at taking pics, uploading, and making a review too. It's only fair that both of you should have your review up. -
Really well done entries by all! 10) 1 point 11) 2 points 31) 1 point 33) 1 point

Jedi Temple Mafia
Alex the Great replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well thanks for having me K-nut and Masked! It was fun while it lasted, though not very long at all. But it's a really fun game, good luck in hosting! -
How did you get a 40% discount? Also the orc hairpiece does leave room to place a quiver?

Jedi Temple Mafia - Day One
Alex the Great replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Why so assertive? He was asked where he got the info, and came out with a an answer that didn't seem defensive at all. -
Jedi Temple Mafia - Day One
Alex the Great replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Your opinion may have been voiced by others, but we should make use of the rest of the day in looking for another sith. Keep discussing and make those who seem suspicious to talk. I agree with Plo Koon that Volvif Monn seems suspicious to me still. After being decided that Ahsoka was most likely Jedi, you created this long post. It seemed like a scum was trying to look helpful. I found the post to be just a summary, not actually helpful at all. Then voted her way after we had stopped. Why? -
Jedi Temple Mafia - Day One
Alex the Great replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well Master Windu is definitely a scum, no matter what he says, he is a confirmed lynch.. Vote: Mace Windu (Nightshroud99). This is what happens when you pressure people to talk. This is a mighty help for what is usually a townie lynch on the first day. -
Jedi Temple Mafia - Day One
Alex the Great replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Whoa did that just happen? So Windu you're saying that C-3PO is the sith godfather and that you are in fact the sith usurper? I guess that's pretty much a winning day for the jedi... -
Jedi Temple Mafia - Day One
Alex the Great replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Okay, I have meditated awhile longer and have come to some observations. The ones at the top of my suspect list right now are lil Seosty, Mace Windu, and Volvif Monn. Seosty and Windu have been accused of scummy acts and haven't defended themselves at all. But I find Volvif the most scummy. A few pages back he posted an extremely long summary of Ahsoka's posts, without really saying anything about it. To me the long post seemed to me acting like a helpful townie, when it was really just jibberish. Then he topped it off with a vote of Ahsoka who many of us decided that she was most likely town. Seemed like a scum trying to get the bandwagon going again and finishing her off. So I FoS: Volvif Monn (Jackjonespaw). Though seeing as many of us are looking to lynch Windu, then I will support that lynch also. Unless Windu speaks up and defends himself! -
Jedi Temple Mafia - Day One
Alex the Great replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Sorry for not being part of the discussion most of the day, a lot has been said and I had to congest it. I've been meditating a lot and I have some thoughts on the days discussions. Many find Ahsoka to be quite scummy for proposing the non vote, though for me she seems to be a genuine Jedi. She was just examining other options. Though I will vote her If we think that she is the only option. What bugs me is R2-D2 spitting out random noises, not useful, and even the translations by 3PO were really not helpful either. I think it's best to vote someone who is not useful rather than someone just analyzing our options. So for now I FoS : R2-D2 ( Fhomes) -
Jedi Temple Mafia - Day One
Alex the Great replied to Masked Builder's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well this situation is very dark indeed, I can feel a disturbance in the force. Very unlucky that we have no way of telling right now which of us is sith. The best way to find who seems the most suspicious is by conversing more with each other, the more they talk the better chance of slip-ups. Well I need to go sleep meditate for awhile to really become one with the force, easier to spot siths after! -

Looks stunning Cara! Really like the mosaic, columns, and arches, and the build in the background looks to be quite awesome also. Looks like it will be a top contender!
