Is the '07 Castle a step in the right direction?
SWMAN replied to Echo's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think it is definetley a step in the right direction. Ever since Classice stopped, Lego has been moving backwards, creating themes that are stupid and aren't anything like the beloved Classic Castle Theme. This is a step forward, towards creating the perfect Castle Theme, with new and improved parts, but a Classic Theme. Hopefully this last for more than a year, and has lots of sets, but without the stupid storyline of KK. -
I could not disagree more. The past few years with KK has been the completely wrong direction. I got too much into storyline that was stupid. This is more like classic stuff, with the King and his army of knights against a simple and evil enemy that people are much more willing to play with. It also offers more opportunity for big battles, unlike KK where it was all little adventures and puzzles. I do think that LOTR would be great as well. But Lego either can't get the rights or has decided to stick with only Star Wars as their main Liscened theme. Don't Know. But, I know I am excited about the new sets and it is a great step in the right direction.

Personally, I believe these two things... First, Spongebob is stupid, both the show and legos Second, Harry Potter Legos died after the first two movie's. The sets got bad and few in numbers. Plus, they have too many Hogwart's Castles. They just do it to sell new figures. I will not be buying these sets. I focus on Star Wars mainly, but the new castle theme looks good.

Finally, A castle with more than just a front to it, that you can actually put people in and defend. It Actually has some playability, rather than just for looks.

The MTT has a ton of battledroids, all with new arms to hold real guns. If only they had those for the Battle Packs. All of the sets look amazing. Lego is finally stepping up. I count 20 Battle Droids in the picture. There seems to be 16 regular, 2 security, and 2 pilots. I love the Destroyer Droid. I love the JSF as well, and the Nabbo Fighter is way better that the other one, and the VD is cool as well as the figures.

Can somebody please pinch me. Lego is finally stepping up and creating great sets that everyone can appreciate and that people have wanted improved on or re-done.

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars sets?
SWMAN replied to Loco de Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Can't Decide. The classic are pretty cool because they are classic, but the new ROTS ones have cool features and figures. I liek to stick with OT sets, because of the playability. They need to make rebel troopers though, and I think they will probably come out this year because they had them in the Lego SW 2 VG. -
I am planning on getting a ILC, AT-ST, Y-Wing, and two of each BP when they come out. I really want 2 ILC and 2 AT-ST, but I can't afford that.
-
Nice review, I am definetly getting one. The reason they are probably promoting the BP so much is that they are not a lot so people will but a ton, which will make Lego a ton of money. I really want the AT-ST. I will probably get one of these, a y-wing, a landing craft, and two of each BP when they come out.

Would anybody be interested in sets for a Civil War theme as well as a Revolutionary War theme. I have always thought these would be perfect themes to make, because of the huge possibilites for sets and new people. Anybody have set ideas.

What is the size of your fleet for SW? I have... (these are current built sets) Rebel 1. X-Wing (1) 2. Y-Wing (1) 3. A-Wing (1) 4. B-Wing (2) 5. Millenium Falcon (1) 6. Snowspeeder (1) 7. Skyhopper (1) 8. Cloud Car (1) Imperial 1. Tie Fighter (3) 2. Tie Bomber (1) 3. Tie Interceptor (1) 4. Tie-D Fighter (1) 5. Vader's Tie Fighter (2) 6. Imperial Shuttle (1) I want... Rebel 1. X-Wing (1) 2. Y-Wing (1) 3. A-Wing (1) Imperial 1. Tie Interceptor (1) 2. Star Destroyer (1) 3. Imperial Landing Craft (1) I also have lots of Clone and CIS ships and droids. I also have Boba Fett's Slave I and Jangp's Slave I as well as some Wookie Ships ans other items. I could take anybody on.

Way too much. I have gotten away from buying for a while. The last thing I bought was the 10176 King's Castle. I always buy at Shop@Home, because there is no store where I live, and the Targets and regular stores are unreliable. I want the new Y-Wing, AT-ST, and Landing Craft, as well as the Star Destroyer, A-Wing, new X-Wing, and Tie Interceptor.

Another thing that bothers me is the price of legos these days. It seems way to high for less people and pieces, especially with the SW Legos. But, even with sets like the City Fire Station that only has a few people. Lego sets used to include a lot more people.
-
Is lego getting slopy in its old age. THey seem to be slacking off on some sets, specifically the 10176 Castle. A few things were wrong. First, on the box where it shows the figures, it shows 2 bull squires, when there is only one, and it doesn't show the blacksmith. Also, on that same box, there is no piece number. Also, on the instructions, the second book has no page numbers, and the first does. It appears that lego slapped together this thing very quickly, using old pieces and bad box design that wasn't reviewed. Anybody else have instances where this has happened? Any Comments?

I like the addition of real people. It makes it more of a port and less of a fort. You should build a seperate fort to protect the harbor and expand the harbor into a city.

(Drool) I so want to be you. I barelay have one pirate set. I was not around to get any. That looks amazing.
-
What are those sets? I liked the Republic Gunship, but Slave 1 falls apart to easily.
-
I will always be loyal to Star Wars, not matter what comes out. I think the Episode II sets were weak, as well as the Episode I sets. I think that they redeemed themselves with Episode III. I love all of the OT sets, and love that they redo sets and release them. THe old AT-ST and Y-Wing were bad, but these look great, as well as the guns. The new Battle Packs opens up a new area of legos. And, with the 30th Anniversayr of SW next year, lego can release some special edition sets. I am happy their contract was extended.

Even thought I don't have Vladeks Castle, I still think it looks cooler than the Royal Castle. I have the Roylae Castle, and even though it is cool and fun, the playability is not there. It is not part of a theme, so there are no oher figures to play with. It is more for display that playing.

Sorry about that. I didn't have all of the facts. I apologize. -
The Adventures of Johnny Thunder 4

Sorry, but kind of a rip-off of Graynar's stuff. If you want really cool Johnny Thunder custom sets, check out Graynar in this same section. All of his stuff is sweet. -
From the picture, it looks like the Imperial Shuttle, with a wider body.

They are still alive and kikin in the U.S., both by themselves and in the battle for endor collection, with the a-wing, b-wing, tie interceptor, and star destoyer.

So, modern military lego is out of the picture...
SWMAN replied to Zarkan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I have always thought that a revolutionary war or civil war theme would be awsome. Has some great armyk building potential. Probably not '07, but maybe '08 or '09.
