On that same picture, I notice a strange thing. The gray bricks don't look lego the don't have the ''sharp'' edges on the sides, it looks quite strange... like they are megablocks or something.

The colour scheme of that ship, I think it would look bad with cannons. But I think it would look great with this ship, It is called the Belem, a French ship and I like her very much, I bought a model of it in Spain it is cool ship!

I believe there are products to let paint release, painting hull pieces wouldn't be such a problem if you have some of that...
