  1. Thanks Rick for the link. I've translated using Google and copied here for the convenience of English speakers. Edited: Google translated version removed to avoid confusion. Pls refer to Rapseflaps' manual translation below.
  2. Very nice! I like how you thought of little details like the black strips to mimic real-life tatami mats. Suggestion though to include some floor cushions for the teahouse guests to sit on (included pic for example of floor mats). Looking forward to more of your Japanese city. Are you modelling it on Kyoto?
  3. If you have set 4728, Escape from Privet Drive, think the set would go with Winter Toy Shop too. I don't have a built pic to share unfortunately, but here is the brickset link: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=4728-1
  4. Oh my, just thinking about the exciting new scenes to create is getting me excited. A whole team of cheerleaders? A circus? [Hey, think clown goes with the carousel set]... I like the new accessories too, like pom poms, nurse's clipboard and not to mention all the new hair styles (is that a new hair on the nurse?). Hope they are not too expensive where I am! 2010 is looking to be (another) expensive year already. I'm a female AFOL and I'm all for the cheerleader... I think my town needs more female figs! [but I voted for the clown cos it makes me laugh. ] I just have to say this... "Save the cheerleader, save the world"?
  5. Great review, beautifully taken pictures. Hope to see more reviews from Matn for the coming 2010 sets. The new creator house perhaps? Personally i think this house is great for tan bricks for MOCs even if you don't like the design. Anyone has pimped up interiors to share?
  6. Oh very cute! Any interiors to share? Seems to fit very well with the rest of your street.
  7. Oh thanks for clarifying.
  8. Actually they did. I got one from my local store. Lovely (free) poster. Was more thrilled to get the poster than whatever i was buying tbh. [Ok, but i was just getting yet another set of something i already had]. Hope you can get from a store too. Unfortunately I don't have a good scanner to share a high res scan. I used the poster for the backdrop of my winter toy shop: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...t=0&start=0 Hmm... linked for easier view.
  9. This is brilliant! Thanks for sharing. Great way to add more 'depth' to street scenes using 80% less bricks! Question tho... everything balances? Do you have to "lean" the facades on the actual wall, or do you reinforce behind the facade?
  10. Thanks Whung! Really excited about the limo - perfect ride for some VIP figs! The airport impulse set looks good too! I prefer the previous airline promo (set 7643) though. Now to patiently (well, quite impatiently actually) wait for the 2010 sets to finally arrive in shops in my part of the world...
  11. Erm, i must confess I cant quite visualise... but thanks for the fast response! Yup, am thinking of modular buildings. See, the lights come as one long string so I'm wondering how to arrange them within and between buildings so that the entire row of buildings is lighted (and upstairs and downstairs as well). Does that mean i have to build in the lights along with the building? Like with holes for the lights to pass thru the walls? Would be a nightmare if i need to re-arrange any of the buildings tho, like with the new emporium coming. Bright ideas, anyone?
  12. I'm not very techy, so am wondering how to arrange the long string of lights to fit inside the buildings. Anyone have pics of christmas LED lighted creations to share? Would really appreciate some interior pics as well for reference on how to place the lights. Thanks a lot in advance if you are sharing.
  13. Thanks for the encouraging comments. I've posted some more pics I had shared with the S0937 community last month in the original post. Since then it's been sitting on my TV console along with a Hogwarts train. Mine is a mix of 2 x 10199 and 2 x 4756 (Shrieking Shack)... Catbricks also did a MOC at that time: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=34597
  14. What a gorgeous hospital Lgorlando! Now I really want need a modular hospital in the next set. Am really looking forward to the interior shots.
  15. My shop grew Edited: Added more exterior close-ups and interior shots Exterior close-ups Instead of a Jack-in-a-box, the Bobby was frightened by the horrifying skeleton head with flaming red hair and burning eyes. What kind of sick mind would create toys to scare children anyway? :P Behind the toy shop, Roy is devastated to see his crush (Girl with freckles and red hair) locked in a kiss. In the front shop window display, the attractions are robot 101 on the right and Amber Morning Train (can also see the Toymaker at the counter). Interiors Apart from the window displays, the first storey also has a big bear and bargain bin next to the stairs. The light brick is located on the back wall for easy access - unfortunately the dustbin and broom can't be seen from this shop as they are hidden under the stairs. Moving up to the 2nd storey where the more adult toys are kept, we see Mrs Toymaker introducing a customer to another best selling toy this season - life size Belville fairy. The blackboard in the upper left corner lists the top 10 best selling toys. In the right corner, the shelf stocks the latest steering wheel for Ybox 180 as well as limited edition golden ball and the more common soccer ball. The Toymaker's attic is where he creates his little masterpieces:
